Wow, nice dismount by your Dad there, Greg!
Thx for sharing the footage ( i.e., fist pump to the acrobatic senior citizen).
Good job getting away from the machine like that cause if it didn't stay where it was, it could very well have rolled right over your rib cage.
I'm glad nothing & no one got broken. It's good to document the difficulties & hard ships cause they can happen to anyone, and folks should be aware of what they are getting into. Old school dictates safety in numbers and having backup even to roll a machine up right. I can't imagine being on an alone hunt & getting pined under a machine or running out of gas before you got back to camp for a spare Jerry can.
I thank you, fellas, for educating others to play safe.

Thank you. Indeed riding a snow machine is not as easy as it looks, and things can go sideways in a bad way in a hurry. There have certainly been times when a single rider was unable to set a machine upright after tipping over, even in easy terrain. We're pretty practiced now, but humility and caution go a long way, especially in the spring when rivers and lakes are not reliably frozen (if they ever are).

Your dad is an amazing guy, but not just because he's still getting after it 💪out there in the backcountry in his 70's (I clearly recall his hard tumble/head injury on one of your sheep hunts 😮🤕), but also because of his wisdom, personality, wit, character and sense of humor as well. Always nice when he shows up in your vids. Greatly enjoying these hard core Wood Bison hunts. Thanks for putting out truly superb content. ATVB

Thank you, Gordon! That was a hunt that we often laugh about. My dad hasn’t been as keen to join me for bison since then!

@@GregMcHalesWildYukon hi Greg. I’m the Bill Thomas who drove for Southeast Tours in years past. I won’t be able to come back north for work anymore but I love seeing the wilderness and the wildlife in your videos.

There are 7000 of these left and are considered dangered. Pathetic that you hunt them.

And yet the population of them is rising cause of hunters like him, without responsible hunters like him, they would have Gone extinct years ago. Did you know hunters were the one who started the program to save them, worked with the Candian government to create wood buffalo national park to protect herds. And yet these animal rights groups haven’t lifted a finger to help these animals. Says a lot, hunters will save these animals not only so there can be hunts in the future, but also so generations can enjoy these animals. Being on hunts myself I can tell you we don’t just see a animal and shoot it, we only pick animals that are prime ( aka older) and that won’t effect the population ( aka pregnant animals or mothers)

Thanks for watching, Richard. If you watch a few more of my videos, you'll understand hunting better than I gather you do now. You'll see that the adventure and challenge of the hunt, among many other things, brings a reward that must be experienced to be understood. I do my best to portray that in these videos, but perhaps I failed with this one, given your comment.
