How do you view the job Matt Rhule & his staff are doing in recruiting/the Transfer Portal so far? There’s legit reason for excitement! CarrikerChronicles.com
Just listened to him for 45 min on Pat McAfee. Needless to say, he's doing a fine job. Has all them boys thoroughly impressed!! BTW he's getting the 3 players and maybe a Princely U. Go Big Red and Throw the Bones!!
Daniel is such a great addition. There is nothing like having a true fan and someone who loves the program. There would be nothing better than Dylan and Daniel competing. I think back to the Frazier and Berringer competition. PS. We need a really good line to help the cause. It all starts up front. Pipeline! Go Big Red! Husker for life...
I think they get all 3. McCord & Fleming as a pair to start. And Dylan comes home to Nebraska like the family he is to red shirt, develop a year, & take over after that. Huge change in Nebraska.
Steve … that would be the ideal situation … but I think unrealistic … why would Raiola transfer if he expects to sit on the bench? … Georgia pine is pretty nice … Raiola will expect Rhule to guarantee his position. Other question … why start your season with an untested high school recruit when you have a proven Big 10 winner in McCord … don’t trust Raiola yet.
@@johnbrandon859 because he's going to sit on the bench the 1st year anywhere he goes. He would sit at Georgia for at least a year. It's not at all unrealistic. It's likely he goes to Nebraska. I'm still not sold on the Raiola thing. If that's true that will be one of the best recruiting wins in school history! Excited to see how that pans out!
I’m still skeptical because of his history of jumping around, but multiple people have told me he’s visiting Nebraska this weekend & they fully expect him to commit to the Huskers. Can’t wait to see what happens.
The progress that rhule has made so far has been amazing. I don’t think people realize how bad this team was in 2022. Without Casey Thompson and trey Palmer, we might not have won a game. I feel good about this team for the first time in a long time
5 years of terrible management. Well, make that 10 years. Bill Moos hiring SF, then giving him a boost and a contract extension before fleeing town. Dunno what SF had on Moos to get that contract extension, maybe video of him doing some sort of drunken debauchery that his wife Kendra wouldn't like. All that after 5 years of Eichorst, who fired Bo Pelini for going 67-27 with 9-3 in his final season, then hired Mike Reilly, who Moos replaced with Frosty. It's been a bad decade for Husker football. Cross your fingers for Dec.20th.
If we even get a single one of these guys I'm gonna shed a tear of joy, honored that these ohio state boys are given us consideration and even more honored that raiola is giving us a second thought 🙏
BROOOOOO IM SOOOOOO FREAKING EXCITED FOR NEBRASKA!!!! I can’t believe it, we are maybe turning a corner! Matt Rhule is coming through!!!! I’m still super pumped about Daelin, I REALLY REALLY REALLY wanna see one of our own homegrown running that offense.
Love your take Adam! I agree! I WANT A QB COMPETITION!!! Raiola and Kaelin are BOTH great prospects, not to mention McCord. It’ll be interesting to see what shakes out the next few weeks/months!! GBR!!!
I'm beyond excited. As for his moving around my take if he's figured out what he doesn't want. Nebraska is where he belongs!! I'm still on my knees for all three and Kaelin staying.
I would love to see McCord come in and start next year, with Dylan and Daniel both red shirting ( with Dylan's QB coach on staff) Next year Dylan can take over, get his Heisman year and move on to the NFL and Daniel take the reins after that... Laying the foundation for years to come
My thoughts, we get all three, I hope. Kyle starts next fall, while Dylan & Daniel get a year to develop. (If they are patient enough to let Matt drive the bus.). Moving forward with McCord for one year, Then we have a situation similar to when Frazier and Berringer played for UNL. We could end up with one of the most powerful offensive schemes we have had in recent memory. The question is, are these players team focused on the team more than they are on themselves? That could very well be the difference.
Getting McCord is the perfect short term guy. He doesn't care who we bring in. He will be starter unless Dylan beats him out in which case would be awesome.
Always thought Raiola would come back to NU but thought he would spend one year at GA first. Glad he is getting here. I think all three come and the two young ones should battle it out. Even if you end up second string keep in mind, so was Tom Brady, and we all know how that ended up.
I definitely love getting Raiola, but am concerned about the jumping around. He’s been to 4 different high schools and already committed to 2 different colleges. Will he stick if things don’t go really well? I hope Kaelin hangs with us. Oops, I see you just mentioned all that.
IF this happens, it alleviates one of my biggest concerns, which was taking only one QB in the 24 class. Knowing the current QBs are not good, we need all the new talent we can get
I hope Kaelin is the starter. I hope stays committed, as a husker fan, how do you not love that kid? Either way, wish him the best and the other QBs as well.
Mr. Carriker, it is very rarely that I disagree with you but this time it is a BIG ONE. Coach Rhule has said more than once that he want to run the ball, bring back the option, be tough, and yet he is looking to be another Coach Frost with his throw it all over the field mentality. With you and all of the other talking experts about NU football talking down about HH, and CP, and how wonderful life would be with a new QB I myself if I were HH and CP would walk into Coach Rhule's office, look him in the eye, and tell him goodbye as he has told them BOTH that they are not good enough to play for him.
I feel we will get McCord & Fleming for starters next year they must want to show there talent here at UNL. Raiola would be awesome but I will not hold my breath. Matt Rhule is on the right track.
I think we can get all 3. Dylan noticed that when the first 2 didn't work out last year the 3rd string guy got his shot. Much better chance he'll get starts under his belt in year 1 at Nebraska than anywhere else that has good QBs.
OSU fan and adopted Neb. fan (wife is an alum). Honda McCord is a great talent who simply did not fit into our offense like we wanted. We all felt he was a little flaccid if you will compared to Stroud, Fields, Haskins and even JT Barrett who was a great college QB. Were kinda used to 30+ point games, not struggling. We all got a little sour on him the longer the season went and we didn't see anything that dynamic from him except that last drive at the ND game which was awesome. He just didn't fit. However I think he would be an incredible fit at Neb. Hopefully it would turn out like Martinez at KS last season. And Flemming just got pushed out and not a ton of reps. I hope Neb gets em both. GBR!!
I said this last weekend on one of your other videos, and I'll say it again since it pertains exactly to this video: What are the chances we could pick Dylan Raiola up? Or has that ship sailed? The circumstances look ideal for him here. He could come in and redshirt next year playing under an experienced senior QB (McCord or whoever it ends up being), and then start the next 4 years.
Lets find out who commits. Who will be the QB coach? Yes they need one but who is someone who can help develop. How will the OL pass block improve if we have a new QB who is more of a pocket passer.
Adam love you and your show. I would encourage you to either wear a mic, or have one overhead. The audio sounds like a phone booth. Just want your show to sound as professional as other top podcasts. GBR
Well, we aren't getting two of the three. But if we still get Raiola, that's a massive coup. Yes, I'd have loved to have gotten all three, but I'm happy Rhule is looking, and shooting high. Hopefully we don't end up missing on all three. But, if in fact McCord pulled out only because he is worried he won't start if Raiola comes, I can't really blame him. Dude has only one year left and, since he's clearly good enough to start for a solid power five school, it's hardly unreasonable for him to want to go someplace where he can, and almost assuredly will, start. In the new era of the portal and NIL, we're just not going to have as many quarterback battles at any school as there used to be. Heck, even Georgia is having a hard time keeping top notch QBs who want to start sooner than later.
Seeing both Riola AND Kaelin at Nebraska???? I think that's going to be tough. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see them ALL here. I think that if Riola commits to us, Kaelin will look elsewhere and maybe go back to Missouri. Only time will tell and then you'll most likely get other quarterbacks moving into the transfer portal. That's just the way it is these days. I honestly hope I'm wrong......
Four high schools and three "commitments". We have a talented QB that has recruited others to join him that is all iN that doesn't switch his commitment because of the potential of competition. I know who I hope blows ends up as QB1
There are rumors that Trevor Etienne will visit this weekend and that Jeff Christensen may be our next QB coach. Just rumors, but yes please to both of them
Doesn't matter what qb or wr you have if the line can't hold a block for more than half a second. Offensive Line should be the primary focus in terms of recruiting. Games are won and lost in the trenches. They made improvements throughout the year but there is a long way to go and depth is an issue.
While I'm mildly excited about Raiola, I also feel that him coming back could effect McCord coming AND it might chase off Kaelin, along with his high school teammates who came with him, AND others who were peer-recruited by Kaelin. Raiola scares me with his flip-flops all during his high school career, and now again from OSU to Georgia to NU all before his college career even starts. Kid better get his shit together, head on straight, and hope he can learn some things from McCord (hopefully), Purdy and/or Kaelin. If he comes here expecting to start immediately, he'll run away like he always has if he doesn't start. It sucks that 1 player can potentially effect so many other players. I see Raiola chasing off really good players, then running away in the end when things don't go his way. Hope not. But that's my gut feeling. GBR!
Man i hope N signs McCord! It will give a great comparison of offensive schemes and/or offensive coordinators. Gives N fans alot of answers about Satterfield
Perhaps, Kyle starts. Dylan, plays 1/4 of games to get experience. Danny becomes #2 or backup. Purdy and maybe Harburg transfer unless Harburg moves to receiver of some sort. Anything else makes no sense from a recruiting standpoint. Someone else will leave otherwise. The other thing I no longer hear about is Raiola got a new contract. I think that helps.
I just want to add this... Remember what happened in Oklahoma when williams bumped rattler for the starting qb position? If Raiola is half as good as mahommes then he'll be the starter next fall.
I like Daniel Kaelin vs. Dylan Raiola. I think Daniel has heart and wants to play for Nebraska. Since Dylan Raiola snubbed Nebraska earlier and decided to commit to Georgia and now de-commit from Georgia back to Nebraska tells you something about Dylan's head and heart. I think Dylan Raiola doesn't want QB competition, he wants to be promised the starting QB role and I also think it's all about NIL money for Dylan. I think Daniel Kaelin is the better fit for Nebraska.
Yes he's been around but there's no place like Nebraska! In his case even more so! Ruhle will do Kaelin right and they will have to compete! May the best man play!!
They could land both QBs, McCord only has one more year of eligibility. And Dylan would be a true freshman. So McCord probably would have a good chance of starting next year and Dylan would have some time to develop and mature or maybe redshirt. So the two dont necessarily have to compete
If McCord was the starter all year, then we win all but Colorado and Michigan game. And if we played Colorado in the middle of the season, then that would have also be a win.
Adam love your show bro. Kyle McCord does not take care of the ball. There were so many balls he threw right into defender's hands that were dropped. He also fumbled the ball six or seven times himself. He is indecisive and he is not as accurate as you think. He threw the ball behind receivers through it high through it low and a lot of times his receivers were able to catch some of those. He played scared and he's very thin-skinned. He plays with no emotion. Dylan actually orally committed to USC originally then to Ohio State then to Georgia and now possibly to Nebraska. Julian Fleming play is very inconsistent. He tends to drop the ball quite a bit. I am only saying this not to try to be a debbie downer or pouting that they left Ohio State. Neither of these players have come close to their five star status they had out of high school.
Brining in Kyle McCord makes sense, BUT HONESTLY, I think we should keep Daniel Kalen over Raiola. As outlandish as that seems Kalen is an instate recruit, has recruited other players to Nebraska, and his three star rating is a bit undervalued for his performance at the elite 11 camp. If Raiola comes in I'm afraid he'll be a bust like a lot of other, "top," prospects, not to mention if we had all three QBs at least on would transfer because there'd be too much talent in one room.
1) I wish I knew for sure. Definitely will not be Sims though. I like Haarberg, but is too limited to be qb. Purdy is interesting in the fact that he needs to be healthy and coached up. 2) No 3) Yes, I hope so.
Question??? Why do they really need a quarterback coach? Raiola already has a private QB coach who is one of the best. I would think by adding another QB coach that would confuse everything and screw everything up.

It will take the whole room to get it back to where we all want
They could land both QBs, McCord only has one more year of eligibility. And Dylan would be a true freshman. So McCord probably would have a good chance of starting next year and Dylan would have some time to develop and mature or maybe redshirt. So the two dont necessarily have to compete
2 out of 3 ain’t bad. Dylan wanted to be a Dawg-let ‘em
I think we might have a chance for Kyle Mcord, but Dylan Riaola I think will go to Ohio st or Oklahoma.
Casey Thompson tragedy can be forgiven with a McCord or Riola commitment
Is raoila willing to sit year 1 cause McCord only has one year left I heard
Next year's starting QB --- Jerry Tagge. I say bring him back 😀
If McCord was the starter all year, then we win all but Colorado and Michigan game. And if we played Colorado in the middle of the season, then that would have also be a win.
McCord, Raiola, Kaelin will all not be in NE QB room next year. We sure NEED a QB coach!!!
🙏🙏🙏🙏
1. McCord
2. No
3. Yes
1) I wish I knew for sure. Definitely will not be Sims though. I like Haarberg, but is too limited to be qb. Purdy is interesting in the fact that he needs to be healthy and coached up.
2) No
3) Yes, I hope so.
Question??? Why do they really need a quarterback coach? Raiola already has a private QB coach who is one of the best. I would think by adding another QB coach that would confuse everything and screw everything up.
