I would be really interested in seeing how you can improve the handling with Andys parts and if drifitng is possible. Im planing the same things with my XJR6
A manual XJR6 is such a different animal to the automatic. Someone once described it as a racing GT tractor. I don't entirely disagree. Personally I love my manual XJR6, but before thinking of doing the swap best to make sure you really want it like that. You have to work way harder to drive a manual XJR well.
Hi Jesse, Once had an ex-Jaguar press car manual XJR6 in New Zealand. Was so early, no glove box etc. Wonderful car, but make sure gearbox is OK if you make the swap. Getrag parts for that box it seem unobtainable. Sold to an enthusiast who liked to just look at it in his front yard. Sadly was near sea and i believe rusted away :/
import a good RHD car passenger seat cover from the UK! Thats what i did for my RHD XJR6 Imported a really good LHD seat cover from the States. Reason? its better to replace with a factory seat cover with not much wear than go aftermarket as they are never correct!!
The mods most us xj owners want, why didnt people buy more manuals new we want them now lol. Ive got the same wheels on my xj40 and they are my first plans of the year on mine. It will be great to see yours done id love a xjr
Yuup, I agree! Manuals would be so much fun, especially in a car like the XJR. Your XJ40 is going to be sitting nice with them wheels. Thanks a lot for the love for my car!
I did consider manual swap for my XJR6 but I did give up on that after finding out how rare and pricey the needed parts are. Actually I started to like the auto GM 4L80E, it's overall decent box. I changed my manual transmission goal for just putting a proper LSD diff. Andy's uprated droplinks and stiffer rear sway bar I already have, I think it's worth it for some more spiritual driving. My front seats I changed for Sabelt Titan. Original electric leather seats are pretty heavy and even tho getting in and out of those Sabelts is kinda pain in the butt, those support you during fast cornering like unbelievably, the difference is really huge.
i made a comment about your manual swap and about late 90s aston martins , i wanted to elaborate that an aston martin manual transmission would fit the inline six but youtube mustve thought my comment was spam ? if im mistaken and you erased my comment you can just tell me not to comment and i wont watch your vids anymore , idk why youd have beef so im assuming youtube took the comment off
Hey, how's it going ✌🏽 Just wanted to clear things up there's no beef between us brother. I value everyone who takes the time to comment. I deleted the video and re-uploaded it due to some editing errors. Finding an affordable Aston Martin transmission might be hard to find but I'll have to do some research on that. Have a great day!
@@XJJesse lol oh , im retarded lol sorry i was super stoned and didnt notice it was reuploaded , i think i mentioned a thunderbird manual or something else i cant remember , something about how if we could get 30 grand and just buy a late 90s aston martin with a stickshift lol and switch to aston martins lol i cant remember , i want to figure out a way to make the engines faster , i might have mine tuned just to see but at the same time i wouldnt want to fuck something up and maybe i should jus tappreciate the car for what it is , id really like to do a tvr setup on the inline six , tvr runs a 4 liter back then thta got 400 hp non aspirated , this inflation is keeping us from getting ahead in the world , thanks for letting me know
@@XJJesse also i found out the early 95 xj6 has a different camshaft than the other ones up to 97 , i cant remember if i mentioned that , theres so much to these old cars , do you have all the mechanics service manuals ? i do they are crazy

Appreciate you for letting me know. I do daily the XJR6 so ill keep that in mind BUT The challenge might just be worth the thrill, though!

Thanks for the heads up about the gearbox I wonder if there's another gearbox that can be use instead.. That's a shame about the XJR6. ☹️

Great tip, I'll definitely consider that option for my XJR6 Seats And Transmission. Thanks!

Im parting out an 2004 xj Black with a light tan interior. Im in Rancho Cucamonga Area
Bro I have a idea for you.
Swap the engine for V8 fix the suspension and brakes and call it hello kitty
I'm for sure planning a V8 swap for my series 3 XJ6.. Thanks for the idea, I might consider a custom license plate for the XJR6
