I really depends if you can get enough value from the Chase Ritz Carlton card as it costs a fair bit more per year than the Chase Boundless card. If you know you can at least make up for the annual fee through the benefits you think you will use each year then its a fantastic card to have!
Hi Daniel, I am just discovering the world of hotel CC's. As an AMEX platinum card holder, I already have gold status with Hilton & Marriott as I'm sure you know. My question is; is there any upside in obtaining a Hilton or Marriott CC, or would doing so simply be "redundant?"
There is some benefit if you frequent these hotels a lot as you will be able to earn a lot more points. For example with the Amex Platinum card you will only earn 5x points for hotel bookings, whereas with the Hilton Honors Aspire card you can earn up to 14x points for Hlton stays. Along with this you also receive other benefits that can be used at each hotel. I also have the Amex Platinum card and prefer it to these hotel cards, specifically because I travel more than I stay at these hotels. I guess at the end of the day it just depends on where you will find the most value for you specific situation.
