Probably one of the best Smash games of all time. Sakurai poured his heart and soul into this game and it pulled off at being one of the best and fastest selling Switch games of all time plus with all of the content that’s in this game like all the previous fighters returning, a brand new adventure mode and new and returning gamemodes. I’m definitely going to be enjoying this game for a very long time.
The fact that so many characters, stages etc are in only makes the fact that there's no other modes beyond the core combat hurt more, IMO. I REALLY wish they had kept Home Run Contest, expanded the Race to the Finish Minigame in classic a bit, and kept and improved on Smash run. I'd have gladly given up 20-30 stages for those, since after a certain point stages just become different skins of the same level layouts.

Spirits mode is basically event matches on steroids so yeah, way better. I hated spirits while I was trying to unlock everyone but now that my roster's full it's a lot of fun (despite some really, really, reaaaaaaallly cheap fights). And oh man Classic mode is so well done. I fell out of Smash 4 because single player was so crappy, so I'm in love with the options for a lonely loser here.
You nailed it. Something about it seemed underwhelming at first. Yet now I love it. It's really interesting to see exactly how they represent a certain character using only in game assets. Had to be a fun creative challenge for the devs. I miss trophies a bit though, wish the spirits had more description than just what game they are from.
No! Ganon’s dead! Aaaaaaaah!!! Monika I couldn’t care less (sorry if that offends anyone) but ganondorf was actually a welcome character in these videos that an occasional appearance from him was funny and made me smile (example: the time he came in out of nowhere on a skateboard and acted like a doofus was an ingenious way for alax to get his point across without saying “ganondorf in twilight princess is unnecessary and kinda out of place and dumb”). Ganondorf you will be missed.
I'm 20 hours into spirits & I really just dont see the appeal, to me its just battle after battle non stop nothing else. & don't get why theres so many spirits, I find them pointless unless you're using the immunity ones. I've been switching between the same 2 main slot spirits for most of my playtime. I wanted mazes & dungeons like subspace but on steroids with bosses at the end. It makes me so sad that I feel this way about world of light, & I'm literally so surprised no one else feels the same way as me. Maybe I am missing something?
I personally hated the platforming in Subspace. It felt so slow and dull to me… I just couldn't enjoy it. It felt like they made levels, but weren't able to design them well for the 30+ characters. They just feel like one-offs for very specific characters, with little to no replayability for the others. I'm glad those stages are gone to be honest, because if making levels for 3X characters was a total disaster, I can't imagine how levels for 74 chatacters would be.
As for single player, I like Subspace a whole lot cause I like beat em ups/platforming, and WoL wasn't really my cup of tea. I guess WoL and Subspace is for different kinds of people
"Everyone is here", yet Porky is missing from the game, not a boss, not a spirit, nothing, and he was 2 bosses and an item in Smash tour. Waluigi was sad because he was an assist trophy? at least he is in the game at all! Porky is the only Brawl boss to be totally missing!

Spirits mode is basically event matches on steroids so yeah, way better. I hated spirits while I was trying to unlock everyone but now that my roster's full it's a lot of fun (despite some really, really, reaaaaaaallly cheap fights). And oh man Classic mode is so well done. I fell out of Smash 4 because single player was so crappy, so I'm in love with the options for a lonely loser here.
You nailed it. Something about it seemed underwhelming at first. Yet now I love it. It's really interesting to see exactly how they represent a certain character using only in game assets. Had to be a fun creative challenge for the devs. I miss trophies a bit though, wish the spirits had more description than just what game they are from.

Monika I couldn’t care less (sorry if that offends anyone) but ganondorf was actually a welcome character in these videos that an occasional appearance from him was funny and made me smile (example: the time he came in out of nowhere on a skateboard and acted like a doofus was an ingenious way for alax to get his point across without saying “ganondorf in twilight princess is unnecessary and kinda out of place and dumb”). I really miss the Subspace Emissary's platforming....
That was one of my disappointments of WOL.
I'm 20 hours into spirits & I really just dont see the appeal, to me its just battle after battle non stop nothing else. & don't get why theres so many spirits, I find them pointless unless you're using the immunity ones. I've been switching between the same 2 main slot spirits for most of my playtime. I wanted mazes & dungeons like subspace but on steroids with bosses at the end. It makes me so sad that I feel this way about world of light, & I'm literally so surprised no one else feels the same way as me. Maybe I am missing something?
I personally hated the platforming in Subspace. It felt so slow and dull to me… I just couldn't enjoy it. It felt like they made levels, but weren't able to design them well for the 30+ characters. They just feel like one-offs for very specific characters, with little to no replayability for the others. I'm glad those stages are gone to be honest, because if making levels for 3X characters was a total disaster, I can't imagine how levels for 74 chatacters would be.
When looking back. The platforming was not that great...
As for single player, I like Subspace a whole lot cause I like beat em ups/platforming, and WoL wasn't really my cup of tea. I guess WoL and Subspace is for different kinds of people

weegingercooper I’m sorry they really add nothing and feel like jar jar binks, annoying and meant for comic relief but don’t accel in that area. I feel Cat does the role better while having an actual connection because Alax has a love for his cat, and the personality with Cat actually works ripping on Alax and being a good co host to point out another view on the topic instead of blindly agreeing like Ganondorf and Monkia do. Tbh it’s better that they don’t return plus the voice actresses can do better roles than just Monika; side not but I can never unsee that bikini Monika and want that image erased from my mind.
