Can you make your own Button top 18650/21700 cells? PART 1/3

Can you help with this issue? There are 21700 button type batteries, that are a bit longer, which have a USB-C for self charging with no separate charger. But as they are a bit longer, none of my torches or radios can use it. What lamps radios or torches will take 21700 button top usb-c batteries in them? Thanks! Anyone know??

Have you ever found a supplier with non adhesive rings like you see on most new cells? I can't stand the adhesive ones when I lose one and have to rewrap the cell with a fat adhesive ring below the wrap

Can't you spot welding it to the negative pole?

You can spotweld nickel which is usually 0,1mm-0,2mm. Welding 1mm steel/alumnium takes a a real welder and the heat associated so really not, but maby you can solder it? But if it leeks "downstairs" you are getting Hot Stuff annyways. Dont really know how chinease factories does them, because lithium cells are always OEM with flattops and Button tops are always rewrapped after market mods.

Do yo think soldering the positive terminal does not allow any heat to reach the interior of the cell?
I use a small 5mm x 3mm magnet on top of flat tops in single cell flashlights. Wouldn't recommend for high discharge applications and wouldn't use for multi cell flashlights but it works if you only have flat tops and need to power a light that only takes button tops. Adding an insulator ring is a good way to keeping the magnet in the middle and not shorting out on the edge if for some reason the wrap and factory ring got worn.
