I spent an hour today on one of these just because I couldn’t figure out how to simplify the answer. It drove me crazy. I hope that you don’t skip steps like those horrible Chegg tutors.

I try as much as possible to show all the steps but there are some concepts that should be learnt from previous videos to help you understand certain things in a new video. For example, in Quotient Rule video, I showed how the derivative of tan(x) is equal to sec^2(x). In subsequent videos I’ll believe that a student has watched the video in Quotient Rule and knows how the derivative of tan(x) is equal to sec^2(x) and hence I won’t keep on showing the proof of the derivative of tan(x). I will simply go on to write the derivative of tan(x) to be sec^2(x) and ask students who have not watched the Quotient Rule video to do so.
