I love your format! It’s annoying that people are complaining, especially since I assume most have them have already seen the episodes?? Why do they care if you’re pausing. If they’ve gotten this far in the series of your reactions, they should know what to expect by now.
I believe what the commenters were complaining about is that sometimes he pauses in the middle of a scene to talk for a while and do some theories or speculate or ask something, and the answer or resolution is in the next couple of lines on that same scene, and I understand how someone who has seen the show a lot could get annoyed at that. As in, "you're speculating like 20 seconds about something that's going to be resolved literally in the next line if you just let the scene play". But at the same time, he doesn't know how the scene is going to play or even when the scene is going to end, and a lot of people prefer to say their thoughts in the moment they're having them instead of waiting, because they may forget them or change their minds. That's the style here and I agree, if you got to this point you should know that's how he does it and a lot of us prefer it this way. (I hope that was clear lol, I was trying to explain it from those comments pov, but English isn't my first language so maybe it got confusing sorry!).
If there's one thing I find incredibly annoying about reaction videos is people speaking over the show still playing, missing whole lines, details and important cues, not reflecting on anything, and then asking stupid questions because they didn't pay attention. SO I LOVE that you pause whenever you feel like commenting/discussing something. Even without the books' background, you get the richness of the show, and manage to be quite insightful about the characters and plot, catching all the cues and always adding interesting perspectives. You're doing a great job! This is how reaction videos should be ;)
Don’t change your format, I like the way you add your view in any scene, that’s how I know you really like this show & this show deserves some recognition (& awards)
Huh...she didn't call him the Brat Prince for nothing. I read most of the books and decided that Lestat wasn't my fave character but I do understand why people would. I just personally couldn't be around someone like him. Especially over an extended period of time. He would wear me out!
The most brilliant aspect of this show is that it answers nearly every question the narrative poses by the end of season 2. It leaves no gaping plot holes and that’s unheard of in todays media.
I think what’s interesting about vampirism in relation to forgiveness is that they have unlimited time. A human may not change within the 80 or so years of life but who is to say a vampire wouldn’t over centuries? That’s not to excuse his actions by any means and I think what’s unique about the show and Anne Rice’s writing is that they never ask you to forgive. They provide context for behavior but never excuse it. Vampirism is so compelling!
Also, I think people have trouble justifying their love for Lestat the character and are compelled to excuse his behaviors to validate their affinity for him. PSA!!!! It’s okay to like characters who do bad things and you don’t need to defend them to do it!!!!
@@emorymccYeah, agreed. I think some of the people getting upset with reactors are approaching this from a space of needing absolute morality in order to like a character when this is the 'let's give a bunch of traumatised horror stories amplified emotions and time to get /worse/' show. I think some people are forgetting that just because Louis got an extra ~50 years to chill out a bit doesn't mean Lestat stopped being the villain here. And I say that as a huge long-time fan of him! He's being a terrible person; let him get called out for that! What's the point of liking someone, particularly in gothic narratives, if you aren't willing to watch them grow?
@@emorymcc I’d be ok with that if anyone saying it fully grasped the depth of his villainy, but if they did they wouldn’t like him. This is just the irl phenomenon of white men skirting consequences for heinous acts transposed into a vampire story. The Lestat apologists have more in common with the band of Ted Bundy fans than they realize.
What I really like about Lestat (and all the other vampires in these books) is that they are so charming, entertaining and deluded, we just follow them and see the world from their point of view, completely forgetting we are the preys here, and they are all villains. I love to remind this while reading. I read them in my teenage years and I will never thank AnnecRice enough for her work. She made me understand that if someone is sufficiently pleasant, we completely ignore all the obvious redflags.
I think the worst thing about Interview with the Vampire is that you can only watch it for the first time once, and it definitely does get better on rewatch because you pick up on everything, but the raw emotion from the first watch is addictive and you never get that a second time
I cannot wait until you watch season 2! Love your in depth dissections of these characters. Edit: also i'm so sorry that you experienced that in your life. I think people give Lestat more credit than he is due because everyone in the story eventually does horrifying things, but I don't think any reactions to his behavior are wrong.
PLEASE don't change your format. I love that you pause and you digest and you scrutinize in the moment before you forget or move on. Anyone complaining about it hasn't watched the show and if they haven't, WHY ARE THEY WATCHING A REACTION. I love your content and your dissection of each moment. It's pure gold and reminds me so fondly of my first watch. I've watched this show 100x already, I've read the books, you're doing great my guy.
Dude i love your format. As someone who's watched this so so many times i've lost count, you pausing and talking about your thoughts is so fun, especially since you sometimes bring up stuff I haven't even thought about before.
I understand your mixed feelings about Louis taking Lestat back, it is a topic I'm personally sensitive about as well It wasn't until after I finished the show I understood I was seeing it through the human lense. Yes, it is a show that reflects the essence of human nature but it is vampires we're talking about, monsters with infinite time on their hands and a different moral compass The way I see it now, if I were on his shoes, immortal with endless time ahead and the threat of loneliness for the rest of eternity, I would take him back as well It's crazy how a silly vampire show can challenge our morality and analyze our very existence 😂
What Lestat does to Claudia in this episode is to me the worst thing he's ever done. And idk if it's "right" to feel that way because obviously what he did to Louis was physically so much worse, but just seeing Claudia's happiness and relief at finally escaping this bad situation and that all being snatched back within minutes. It's so awful to watch. Such a hard scene to get through.
Not really. "Brat" is a good way to keep it neutral. "Evil Prince" would be hard to defend........ But Anne Rice had a practical way of thinking. She made a huge decision about the future of Lestat. One that changed Vampire lore, and her life, forever.
Having watched your channel since you started succession, I can confidently say I wouldn’t change anything about your format and you are the one who has the best judgement on how to make *your* reaction videos. I loved your commentary this episode. Thank you for being personally open and also taking time to consider the nuances & messy nature of the story. I cannot wait for you to get deeper into this complicated tale on season 2❤
yknow, i find that hard to believe when he kept a relationship of Decades with her, always said "soon i'll kill her" and yet never did and in the end, decided to transform her even while his own relationship to louis was on the line against this one woman's life that everyone swears he doesn't gaf... tbh... kinda funny that people love to call for Unreliable Narrator unless it's for stuff that they have reason to dislike. louis has virtually no clue of the depth of this relationship because he was completely on the outside of it. i think lestat had more feeling for her than everyone believes, and he would be a better character for it, in my opinion. a lestat whose main focus is only louis is a weaker character.
PLEASE don't stop taking pause to discuss. I watch a ton of reactors nowadays and this is a complaint I see people make on nearly every good reaction channel. They aren't here for you - they're here to re-watch the episode with the occasional side quip. We're here for YOU! Your perspective is what adds to the experience.
So true. I hate it when I watch a reaction, especially to an amazing show like IWTV, and the reactor just sits there and have us watch them watch the show with little input. I watch reaction videos to see people react/talk about what their seeing, to get different perspectives from my own and sometimes realise things I didn't realize when I watched a show/movie on my own.
Oh man, you really went on a journey in this one. Watching it over and over has made me realize just how much the writers were able to pack into one episode (recovering Louis, the estrangement, the reconciliation and attempt to make it work, and the inevitable breaking point) and I'm so impressed by how well it works. I love how you're angry at Lestat like Claudia (and the audience) and at the same time pointing out that Lestat is handsome and charming and capable of being caring when he wants to be like Louis (and, again, like a good portion of the audience). I can't wait to see what you ended up thinking about the finale!
Lestat is the villain of the first installment of this story, but some fans find it difficult to accept lol I love your reactions and the way you delve into it, don't let some fans gaslight you, all your points are so perfect and valid! Lestat is a brat, who genuinely tends not to understand what he is doing wrong, but to be fair Anne Rice's vampires have that tendency lol
@@Yiningwu5622 I acknowledge that. Lol. Reading comprehension isn't your strong suit. You just can't acknowledge that Louis also abusive. That is what is at issue here. I've said ALL ALONG.. They were both abusive.
@@Yiningwu5622 You should read some literature on critical thinking. Logic. You were owned and continuing grasping at straws. It's ok buddy. :) We are all wrong sometimes. It's ok to admit they were BOTH abusive. Even if it doesn't fit the picture in your head.
Thank you for sharing a part of your story, I appreciate it. I'm trying to get over trauma from child abuse, and i mean not a slap like...proper beaten and I'm 21, u think it gets better but it doesnt. Even though our situations are different I still appreciate hearing about someone else who struggles with various things. In the Uk us women cant exactly talk about these things atleast from what I've seen. Your reactions are so refreshing and I love watching these and hearing your opinions of these topics. You're so mature and intelligent with your thoughts. If only the men here were like that I'd snag u up 😂
I absolutely love your takes on this show and how much you go into your thoughts and different discussion points! I have always thought the discussion on if people can really change quite interesting. I personally do believe that people can change with time and experience but I also understand why people have different takes on this. I do think looking at this from a mortal vs immortal lense is important for this show. As humans we have less experiences and less time to actually change whereas vampires have centuries and because they see the world around them change so much i believe that this could either lead them to become kind of stagnant in their personal development or even more willing to change.
format is great! I really hate when reactors talk over dialogue, especially in a show like this. I basically watched the show the same way, pausing and yapping to myself every 5-10 minutes lol
Most interview with the vampire characters are our babies😂♥️. I am so enjoying your reactions and commentary! I look forward to your reaction every week ✨ I love Lestat. But i am not defending him 😂 the season finale of this part! Can't wait for you to get into season 2!
People get overly protective of their favorite characters in any shows, but definitely don't let that influence your opinions on them. The thing I like about this show is that everyone has their awful, heinous moments, and I just get to watch it like a train wreck and try to pick apart their psyches. My favorite character has their own awful moments and I will not be defensive of them 😅. I enjoyed your reaction and insights this episode and am excited to see what you think of the season finale!
It is hard to separate logic from emotion when people are talking from their heart and own experience. For the fans that have read the other books of the series. It is hard to just think of Lestat as the character from the first book. What they feel about the character just comes out naturally.
I'm sorry people are complaining about your format when they have the option to watch the full show and not a reaction. I really enjoy your format and find it a lot of fun listening to you share your thoughts and experiences. It's also been a blast watching your reaction to certain scenes and hearing your interpretations. I'm really excited for you to continue. Keep up the awesome reactions!
ur reactions are the best! and i love how you don't take any of lestat's shit lmao. he's one of my favorite fictional characters ever, but i would never defend his actions. i'm so excited for the next episode AND for you to get to season 2! it only gets better.
the xqc comment took me out LMAOOO you are definitely one of my favorite reactors on youtube bc i love your commentary!! i really don't like that xqc-style commentary bc at that point i'd rather just watch it myself haha. i enjoy your insights so much and i'm happy you're not planning on changing. great channel friend!!
Claudia is such a complicated character. Even tho her body/mind won't develop past her 14 years, she still learns & boy did she learn. She became a lot smarter & surprisingly more mature, I love her! Talk about PTSD, I'm sure we all have some sort of past trauma & triggers. I still cannot abide by someone ye;lling at me, throwing anything at me or the sound of a belt-thwacking......abusive father. I'm sorry you experience with triggers & trauma too & you still talk sometimes, wow. I hope you continue healing MovieMan, it is a journey. Claudia & Lestat are very very similar. She is his child, despite how she feels now, she's learned a lot from him & once loved him.
that chess scene is soooo good, I love claudia so much :) I was also pleasantly surprised you were noticing rashid weirdness so early on in the season most reactors I've seen completely ignore him, we shall see where that ends up haha
I love your reactions, but it's clear to see how those early comments made you second guess yourself. Don't worry about Lestat and whether you like him now or will in the future. Some viewers loved him from the start (or even before the show was released: old canons with old fandoms), some flip-floped, and some hate him with passion. By the end of season 2 you'll probably have a clearer picture, but the show is not trying to trick you, even with the "unreliable narration" that is going on. Just enjoy the ride!
Another thing to remember about Lestat, although it’s never been stated, but it has been implied, is that he is high born, or noble born depending on how you view it. He came from wealth. Louis and Claudia are low born.
commenting again to just say how much i love your reactions!! i think you're definitely the youtuber i get the most excited about when i see a new IWTV upload. i enjoy how much you discuss it, your theories, and how emotionally envolved you get. i think thats exactly how the show is meant to be engaged with and everyone is going to come out with their interpretations. really excited to see what you think of the finale & of season 2!
You know when a show is written well - if it make you have to turn within and hold your own mirrors up... It's good... I don't mind the pauses (cause there is healing going on) cause I've already seen it and season 2 and found out some things about Louis and Lestat that will shatter you...
You'll be inspired to give us an entire, fully fleshed out university worthy dissertation after you watch season 2. I honestly cannot wait for your reactions to those final two episodes. 😊
Great reaction and I too love your format. Its your channel so you do your reactions the way you want. If people don't like it they're noit being forced to watch. These characters are all totally flawed and everyone's life experiences will inform their reaction to the characters in different ways. There's no right or wrong way to interpret what you're watching, in fact the variety of different reactions is a testiment to the strength of the writing and the thought provocing discussions after each episode are what I love about this community the most. Keep up the great work. I love your insights which are always well thought through, intelligent and evolve with the story.
My sister got me into this show. And I shared your channel with her. That's high praise. And that's just to say that you don't need to explain, or defend yourself. Literally, if someone isn't a fan, they can go elsewhere. I, and many others I see, enjoy your reactions and analysis.
Your format is definitely what makes your videos interesting to watch and stand out, don't change it! I normally don't watch reactors of shows, cause whenever there are any thought-provoking scenes or lines most people I've seen just breeze by it and dont dissect it, but I love hearing your thoughts and opinions, which are on point. I like that you recognise the complexity of the characters - no one is perfect, anyone can do things that are morally corrupt and everyone has trauma that changes how they behave. Obviously this episode it's really only Lestat that's acting like a dickhead, but not Claudia, not even Louis are saint. I think when it comes down to it we have to take in the fact that they are not human, they are vampires; monsters that can't die, that live forever, so their perception of what we consider "normal", "moral" or "unforgivable" is warped. I'm stopping myself here because otherwise i'll go on a tangent. Hopefully this was somewhat comprehensible, english is not my first language :D I'm excited to see you react to the final episode and start the second season. It's spectacular, I think you'll enjoy it :)
Love the format! That’s what I love about good reactors, the analysis! This is Louis story. There’s a lot of his complex nuanced emotions clouding these memories. Lestat is not shown in a good light at all.
Don’t let anyone make you feel bad about not liking or not empathizing with Lestat. People tend to forget that IWTV is Louis’ story and Lestat is the antagonist. Lestat gives you very little to empathize with, but Lestat super fans would rather spoil the entire series than let people get to know characters naturally.
I love the style of your reactions! I recently discovered your channel and I like how you also seem to enjoy delving into deeper/philosophical topics- you immediately struck me as someone I'd want to be friends with irl. Can't wait for the finale and especially season 2 (it's amazing)!
Lestat is a terrible person. Lestat is also a fantastic character. Two things can be true simultaneously. Lestans, lower your pitchforks until he finishes.
You're definitely the only reaction channel I watch all the way through with no skips pretty much no fail. I love your tangents. Also, thank you for feeling brave enough to share your story with us.
Appreciate your analysis even more after hearing how it's got you going through remembered emotions - just glad you're doing what you can to work past it! As for the show, I guess it's a compliment to watch something that brings out strong reactions and provokes a lot of thoughts - these complex characters really do get under our skin, that's for sure! And I'm with those who wouldn't want your format to change - I'd far rather you paused to discuss or theorise about things than talk through or miss all the finer details that others fail to see half the time! Nice reaction, as always, and I can't wait for your finale vid now! Take care!
I love your reactions, ignore the haters! They just hate your self aware. With shows like these I’ve noticed people like watching unaware reactors and then in the comments they can feel smart and be like “well actually 🤓☝🏾” ass people. I love your self awareness. Always try to find reactors like you- much love xx
Yeah, you're absolutely correct in your assessment that Lestat has a lot of trauma in his history... Magnus is just one instance of trauma but he absolutely has more! Things happened to him prior to Magnus and post Magnus that fucked him up.... Most of it will most likely be explored in season 3... We don't have exact details from the showrunners but a couple of characters have been named dropped in interviews that hint towards them going significantly into Lestat's past on season 3... Or at the very least I'm expecting a COUPLE of episodes to be dedicated to his backstory... Hopefully, not just one ep. Which is exciting... But it will absolutely be very dark and difficult to watch at times, I'm sure.
I think the people defending Lestat are readers. I read some of the books way back in high school, so my memory is likely faulty - the odyssey of recollection and all of that. I do recall feeling like Anne Rice retconned quite a bit when she switched the POV character and started to focus more heavily on Lestat. I know I have a lingering fondness for our flamboyant, gutsy, often histrionic brat prince, myself, and I can barely remember why! While Lestat was definitely the villain of the novel, I think the show made him even less sympathetic - veering into unredeemable. There are three scenes that stand out to me: the priest punch, the DV scene, and the creepy train scene. All of those made me cringe a little bit because they're over-the-top even for a character who is basically the walking definition of "over-the-top." As far as I can recall, these are all additions to this adaptation. I think the writers did that to make the audience root for Claudia's plan. I'm not sure I will ever forgive this version of Lestat for these things, either.
Please please do NOT adjust or change your format/style just because of that loud minority . I'm glad you know that the majority of us freaking love how much you have to say and how much you say. And thank you for sharing your own traumas. As someone with her own physical and sexual trauma, this show has really dealt with stuff that a LOT of people can relate to and is TOUGH. I'm glad you recognized Louis' suicidal ideation and depressive state. A lot of people know he's depressed, but not everyone realizes just how dark a place he is in mentally. To defend the Lestat fans (as one), he is partially loved BECAUSE of how crazy and unhinged he is, so hopefully you enjoy that aspect of him. But part of loving Lestat should mean being able to see and acknowledge his faults. Rashid as a whole is a bit of a conundrum I love it!
I am actually mad that people are complaing about your reactions! The whole poit of watching a react or review is to see diffrent perspectives of the same piece of midia! I love your reactions! Dont listen to the annoying loud minority!
Thank you so much for sharing your personal experience, as a 'Lestan' or just a Lestat fan I just love how charismatic and full of character he is but I can still recognize how much of an abuser he is to Louis and Claudia on this season, If I think of an actual person that acts like him in real life I would of course not be a fan of them but run on the opposite direction as fast as I can, no matter how charismatic, so I can see clearly how toxic he is to Louis since episode 1 and if this wasn't a series I wouldn't want for them to stay together. But because it is a series and the leads are in a romantic relationship I do want them to work out, it would be great if they had a better relationship but because I love these two characters together I want them to be in a relationship. All that to say, I feel the same way as you in all the thoughts you had about these characters! Can't wait for you to watch season 2 and all the new characters that await! ❤
everything you said abt lestat’s backstory and the way he hasn’t risen above his trauma like he should have is so true how does it feel to be the best iwtv reactor!!
Love your reactions and commentary, love watching you discover what I too discovered- being new to Anne Rice. Your honestly and sharing your lived experiences is beautiful , so thank you.
Regarding the conversation about change, my personal belief is that people can change if they truly put in the effort and also have a system to support it. It's always easy for us to accept that people change towards the worse, but really hard to believe they change in the opposite direction which for me is too pessimistic. Although I understand it, bc sometimes when I hate someone or I'm really hurt by someone, it's easier to believe they can't change and everything is black and white. I think vampires are the perfect tool to explore this though because they are immortal so they basically have eternity to change their behaviours. Sometimes people try to excuse the actions of the characters in this show by saying "oh, they're vampires and vampire morality is different" but for me it's not the gravity of the actions that differs, it's simply the fact that they have more chances than we as humans could have to grow and evolve. Like I believe in rehabilitation, but sometimes if a human does something extremely fucked up, they might not have the necessary amount of time and chances to become someone better, unlike an immortal being. That's my view on it at least.
A good reaction/commentary is one that pauses the video instead of overly speaking over the dialogue The best reaction channels all do pause the video, like normal human beings. (The button is there for a reason)
I like to watch and pause and process information especially if it's a show that I love, and I like when reactors do that because sometime when you're talking through the show you the reactor sometimes missing things, and with this show you can't take your eyes off of it because just blinking you'll miss something. I mean, I have we watched the show so many times, and there's always something new to learn. I'm watching Reactions to see something that I might have missed
Do I think Lestat is the worst? Yes. Do I also love him dearly and is he my pookie? Yes, yes I do. He is so problematic. And I love that for fiction baby. Love your reactions! Thanks for uploading :)
Another great synopsis episode. Thanks for sharing all your emotions and personal insights from your life. I find it very relatable. This show can really bring out a ton of emotions, good and bad. On the one end, everything is so beautiful and mesmerizing to watch. Then on the other end, feelings of anger, disappointment, and hate come to my mind. I loved the dream sequence. What a cliffhanger. LOL. I have tons of crazy dreams from my past experiences. Trauma I’ve experienced in life. I’m also a very vivid dreamer. But sometimes I feel emotionally exhausted by the time I wake up. 🥱 One more to go. Another great vid. Thanks! 🙏🏼 ❤ 🎥 🧛🏼♂️
Lestat has a way about him, I love the character Lestat, hate the moments he is the most fucked up person in the story tho. And thats the beauty of it, if this was real, I'd despise him, and I know it mirrors real scenarios in many many ways, but its still fiction, and I love myself some fucked up dark fiction. And dont't worry, that doesnt mean I think any other view on the show and/or characters is wrong(edit: And I dont think most people think that way either), the best thing of this show is that as every character is a bit or a lot fucked up, and as we carry our own life experiences into the story(or lack of them), everyone has a different take on it, the showrunners know it, and im pretty sure they play with it, maybe they are fucked up too, playing with our emotions, but dont we love it? xD. I personally watch reactions to vicariously live stories from the eyes of someone who will hopefully have some deep thoughts on the story... I like to learn even more about the story through other perspectives, and your reactions are amazing, one of the best reactions to this show man, love your videos, not only this ones, I've watched your metal gear lets plays and they are amazing too, keep it up!
I hope you don't change the format of your videos. I think you might feel a little overwhelmed, because of the amount of strong reaction this show generates, pay them no mind. You are one of the reactors I enjoy the most, and I say this as an ardent Lestat lover 😅 I love when viewers are seduced by the tale the way they are supposed to be. Eagerly waiting for the final episode reaction.
I love your reactions BECAUSE you never atop talking and what you say is great shit so fuck those guys lol also your rraction to ep 5 was my favorite one so far from all the reactors ive watched youra was the beat one for that ep for sure and i support all the reactors for this show i can find because im a huge fan i dont often comment either so you actually got me to say something congrats i guess lol anyway love what you do dont let idiots get in your way keep on trucking lol
What I really like about your reactions is that it's clear you enjoy the show a lot because you keep quoting lines from the script out of nowhere from memory, which is common between fans of this show since the script is so great hahahahahha
Please don't change your reaction style! Can't wait for your commentary on season 2 once you are finished with this first season. You are definitely in it with this amazing Gothic gay messed up vampires horror show.
Too late lol Luckily, nothing was really spoiled for me until after I finished this season. So the timing worked out. And I'm avoiding most comments until AFTER I catch up with Season 2
I can relate to what you were saying about the friend who relied so heavily on you emotionally. Most of my friendships growing up were that, and even in my early 20’s I was still learning what I could and would put up with when it came to that. I had a former coworker/friend who took way more than I could handle while getting into worse and worse situations and waving off concerns, and I had to just cut her from my life because I couldn’t keep her afloat on top of anything I was dealing with in my own life. I hope she’s doing better now, I know she’s moved states and is still alive, but I don’t ever plan on reaching out again in case she’s still the same.
I love your format! It’s annoying that people are complaining, especially since I assume most have them have already seen the episodes?? Why do they care if you’re pausing. If they’ve gotten this far in the series of your reactions, they should know what to expect by now.
Exactly! I already watched the show, I'm here for his opinions and views.
I actually don’t like reactors that show the episodes clearly because it doesn’t encourage people to stream it legally
Must be people who simply do not watch many reactions 😂
ikr! at least when he pauses he has something intelligent to say. Some of these creators are... oof.
Unfortunately the show hasn't gotten any awards it missed this year's Emmy nominations by two weeks
lestat always managing to escalate situations by saying the worst possible thing is always funny
in a depressing kind of way
@@lovelaced and I love him for it !
It’s a talent tbh
Honestly Anne Rice was the biggest Lestat apologist 😂
1000%
Huh...she didn't call him the Brat Prince for nothing. I read most of the books and decided that Lestat wasn't my fave character but I do understand why people would. I just personally couldn't be around someone like him. Especially over an extended period of time. He would wear me out!
She created him and then recreated him. It was love at first thought...... ha ha
“can we be forgiven if we do not forgive others ourselves?” even if he hasn’t gone to confession in decades, louis is a catholic through and through
😭😭 clocked his tea
The most brilliant aspect of this show is that it answers nearly every question the narrative poses by the end of season 2. It leaves no gaping plot holes and that’s unheard of in todays media.
LMAO I love your theorizing on Rashid at the end, basically speed-running the conversations we were having for WEEKS when this was airing
most of us are here for your commentary and analysis since we've already seen the show, so don't worry too much and keep it up! :D
@@emorymccexactly
I think the worst thing about Interview with the Vampire is that you can only watch it for the first time once, and it definitely does get better on rewatch because you pick up on everything, but the raw emotion from the first watch is addictive and you never get that a second time
That chess scene was so brilliant. As Claudia was talking to Louis she was making parallel moves with Lestat on the chess board.
For some reason, Louis going over Rule #6: if you can fly, tell us you can fly” cracks me up everytime I hear it 😂
I cannot wait until you watch season 2! Love your in depth dissections of these characters.
Edit: also i'm so sorry that you experienced that in your life. I think people give Lestat more credit than he is due because everyone in the story eventually does horrifying things, but I don't think any reactions to his behavior are wrong.
Love your reaction style, don’t change anything!
I understand your mixed feelings about Louis taking Lestat back, it is a topic I'm personally sensitive about as well
It wasn't until after I finished the show I understood I was seeing it through the human lense. Yes, it is a show that reflects the essence of human nature but it is vampires we're talking about, monsters with infinite time on their hands and a different moral compass
The way I see it now, if I were on his shoes, immortal with endless time ahead and the threat of loneliness for the rest of eternity, I would take him back as well
It's crazy how a silly vampire show can challenge our morality and analyze our very existence 😂
I love the progression of getting harder and harder to defend Lestat lol It's no wonder he's known as brat prince.
I cannot wait for you to get deeper into this complicated tale on season 2❤
couldn't agree more!
its so crazy to me that lestat fumbled louis over a woman he doesn’t even seem to like
yknow, i find that hard to believe when he kept a relationship of Decades with her, always said "soon i'll kill her" and yet never did and in the end, decided to transform her even while his own relationship to louis was on the line against this one woman's life that everyone swears he doesn't gaf... tbh... kinda funny that people love to call for Unreliable Narrator unless it's for stuff that they have reason to dislike. louis has virtually no clue of the depth of this relationship because he was completely on the outside of it. i think lestat had more feeling for her than everyone believes, and he would be a better character for it, in my opinion. a lestat whose main focus is only louis is a weaker character.
ITS HEREEEE this episode is so good and the finale!! oh boy get ready. bailey bass as claudia is SO GOOD in this episode
We're back baby!! I'm loving this reaction series
I like it here. Please don’t change a thing.
Lestat is the villain of the first installment of this story, but some fans find it difficult to accept lol
I love your reactions and the way you delve into it, don't let some fans gaslight you, all your points are so perfect and valid!
Lestat is a brat, who genuinely tends not to understand what he is doing wrong, but to be fair Anne Rice's vampires have that tendency lol
This is a fair assessment.
This comment section is like a safe haven away from weird Lestat apologists who refuse to accept Lestat is, in fact, antagonistic for the first leg

Don't sell yourself short. You made me happy. I love your Interview react vids.
If only the men here were like that I'd snag u up 😂
I'm so sorry that you were treated horribly in your childhood
@@angelaholmes8888 Aw thank u i appreciate it. U never truely get over it, constant trust issues but im working on it 😄
did you catch louis stabbing lestat with a shard of the broken disc loll
I look forward to your reaction every week ✨
I love Lestat. But i am not defending him 😂 the season finale of this part! Can't wait for you to get into season 2!
I love your format!
I dont understand why people refuse to acknowledge Lestat is very much a villian in the first season.
ur reactions are the best! and i love how you don't take any of lestat's shit lmao. he's one of my favorite fictional characters ever, but i would never defend his actions. i'm so excited for the next episode AND for you to get to season 2! it only gets better.
There are people complaining what??? Your reaction style is like perfect
the xqc comment took me out LMAOOO you are definitely one of my favorite reactors on youtube bc i love your commentary!! i really don't like that xqc-style commentary bc at that point i'd rather just watch it myself haha. i enjoy your insights so much and i'm happy you're not planning on changing. great channel friend!!
My man, you need to get rid of this friend. If it causes you ptsd response from the door knock, you really need to distance yourself
Just enjoy the ride!
this!
Your reactions to this show are the best ones out here, don't change your format.
Hopefully this was somewhat comprehensible, english is not my first language :D
I'm excited to see you react to the final episode and start the second season. It's spectacular, I think you'll enjoy it :)
So excited to see what you thought of the finale next time!
Your format is great, don't change a thing and don't worry what other people think, you will drive yourself crazy trying to please other people.
Beautifully said.
I love the style of your reactions! I recently discovered your channel and I like how you also seem to enjoy delving into deeper/philosophical topics- you immediately struck me as someone I'd want to be friends with irl. Can't wait for the finale and especially season 2 (it's amazing)!

Why does a vampire need a personal physician? A 'vet' for his farm, maybe? Lol
Lestat is a terrible person. Lestat is also a fantastic character. Two things can be true simultaneously. Lestans, lower your pitchforks until he finishes.
love the vulnerability, maybe someone watching can learn something from your experience 🖤
You're definitely the only reaction channel I watch all the way through with no skips pretty much no fail. I love your tangents. Also, thank you for feeling brave enough to share your story with us.
I admire your honesty and I'm very glad that you're in a better place now.
I remember there was a line in some of Ann Rice books: "we dont change - we just become ourselves".
1:55 BROTHER DO YOU!! your supporters love it and want to hear your thoughts..glad you aren't switching the format keep being great🙏🏿
Don’t change a thing, Darlin’! YOU ROCK!! ❤
Agreed
everything you said abt lestat’s backstory and the way he hasn’t risen above his trauma like he should have is so true how does it feel to be the best iwtv reactor!!
im so SO SO excited for you to see season 2!!!
A good reaction/commentary is one that pauses the video instead of overly speaking over the dialogue
The best reaction channels all do pause the video, like normal human beings. (The button is there for a reason)
If you're wondering yes sam reid is singing the song unlike tom cruise and stuart Townsend he can sing

And dont't worry, that doesnt mean I think any other view on the show and/or characters is wrong(edit: And I dont think most people think that way either), the best thing of this show is that as every character is a bit or a lot fucked up, and as we carry our own life experiences into the story(or lack of them), everyone has a different take on it, the showrunners know it, and im pretty sure they play with it, maybe they are fucked up too, playing with our emotions, but dont we love it? xD.
