What a delightful interview! Massive props to the interviewer, who chose some fantastic questions and kept up a great atmosphere through the interview, and always of course to Neil, who just seems like a beautiful soul! I'm not even much of a gamer honestly, but I adore the way he speaks about creativity and the arts and the joys of being a nerd~ what an inspiration! (And a vibrant personality!)
The story about Neil meeting Brian Blessed playing Old Deute being the spark that made him dedicate his life to acting is honestly one of the most wholesome backstories I've ever heard.
Such a good interview. Neil is too good for this world, paying it forward for the next generation of artists and creatives is such a hero move...literally making dreams come true. Protect this man at all costs.❤
Neil is the most amazing and wholesome human bean in existence. Absolutely love hearing him talk about his experience and expertise. I love this silly chaos goblin so much
When he answered how he got the spark for acting, at first I was just “yeah, that guy has some presence” and then he described the character and I was 😱🥰 I love the show, so cool it was that.
Maggie, you are a really wonderful interviewer! I appreciate that you asked Neil different questions than (it seems) like he’s gotten from other interviewers.
Did I interpret the timeline correctly? He auditioned for high elf, that's the one they liked at Larian, but when he went to record mo-cap he was a tiefling, and then afterwards he was switched back to high elf? Or did Neil mix up what race audition got him the role?
I know game dev's are going to try cutting actors out of the loop soon enough. I refuse to buy AI performances after Astarions performance. He made every other video game character appear wooden in comparison. AI can't hit those notes, I demand sentience in my characters, thank you.
Neil Newbon is just super sweet! I love how much he still is hyped about BG3 and how much he enjoys his profession ❤❤
I really hope we will get more animated shorts and DND one-shorts with Neil and the rest of the crew. They are always so fun

If you don't know Brian Blessed, he's a legend and incredibly entertaining, look him up!
I love how calm this felt
