    Good stuff buddy, but lucky you didn’t film your own eye injury. Safety glasses are really cheap insurance it’s not a matter of if but when, you only get pair of peepers. Speaking from my own mischief. Take care Cheers 🍻

      Other than the battery the rest of it actually is pretty cheap. The battery was probably cheap from him when he would have got it free from the supplier 😂

      Most people can't afford all those tools to do said work

    • @gavinhuckstepp582
      @gavinhuckstepp582 2 місяці тому

      @@SAMMIEJONESJUNIOR Other than the welder, which you can get on marketplace pretty cheap, and if you're handy enough, you dont really need it. $50 for an angle grinder, $80 for a circular saw $50 for a socket set $50 for a spanner set, $50 for a drill. Call it $300 for the tools and $150 for the sundries like drill bits, screws and all that stuff brand new (total $450). Materials would be some what cheap with wood and carpet and some scrap steel.
      I think realistically, if you cant afford the $5-600-ish to make that stuff... You likely cant afford a Patrol in the first place, lets be honest.

    • @SAMMIEJONESJUNIOR
      @SAMMIEJONESJUNIOR 2 місяці тому

      @gavinhuckstwhatlli If you are talking pawn shop prices, then you are correct. Even then, quality and durability will be in question. Now if we are talking about out those tools in that pictures then we are way off unless he has the holiday special low grade ryobi tools. The batteries are 199 with the charger alone

    • @Alan.livingston
      @Alan.livingston 2 місяці тому

      @@SAMMIEJONESJUNIOR you could build that whole setup with some cheap hand tools or used power gear off marketplace. Just because old mate uses a circ saw or whatever it doesn’t mean other people have to.

    Luv your work. The little things make the difference. Luv using vice grips over the top of the vice - sorry tradie. There is a heap of space behind that passenger wall. I fitted my battery in there, which allowed more usable space. Great job with bracketry. Keen to see the end result and how it works in real world applications. Need to rebuild my 12V, had resettable 12v CB's protecting everything and died on my Cape York trip and had to dodge rewire everything to keep trip going. Guess they died from corrigations. Carefully of them, sometimes old school is the way to go. Keep it real

    I love that you have a extinguisher in the vehicle but i feel like on the back of the cargo barrier isn't the best spot. Personally id suggest at the base of the front seats or similar because in an emergency you are sort of half way to the engine or the boot depending on where the fire is.

    Tom, it's looking good but I do have a query.
    Do you intend utilising the standard Patrol wheel jack in the event of a tyre being damaged beyond a simple plug repair?
    If yes, how do you access it?
    I had that issue, hence had to leave rear drivers corner vacant to access wheel jack storage.
    Yes, I could have moved jack, but that's counter intuitive, takes up internal storage then.
    Something to consider/resolve.
    I also had the issue of having to retain access to my quarter panel tail lights as well as I'd fitted opperable European lights (appears yours has them also), hence bulb replacement access required, as you'll need to replace reversing light globe in rear quarter panel of std aussie patrol also.
    Regards, Wealie

      @@shanenorwell8580You have your reasons no doubt to have that opinion, however I have an opposing view through experience.
      I run Itech auxiliary batteries, in both vehicle & caravan, Itech cranking battery in vehicle, Itech 240v charger, Itech inverter.
      All items have been trouble free, fit and forget.
      I have zero issues buying Itech or recommending.
      A battery my brother purchased did fail, I consulted Itech, was blown away by customer service provided, return authorisation issued, battery returned to Itech, diagnosed faulty BMS, replaced, battery returned to me, plus my initial freight costs reimbursed into our bank account.
      Brother was 100% satisfied.
      That's customer service.
      My faith in Itech validated.
