Was Bruce Lee Actually A Good Martial Arts Fighter?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 гру 2019
- It is early 1960, and San Francisco's Chinatown is the place to be if you're a young martial artist looking to prove yourself in this world. Most of the martial arts masters however are reluctant, if not completely opposed to teaching Westerners what they see as a uniquely Asian art. Bruce Lee disagrees, and happily takes on any apprentice who can prove himself.
Wong Jack Man is amongst the greatest masters of his time, and he takes offense at Lee's willingness to take on non-asian students. Others however claim that Lee, new in town, has bragged loudly and constantly about being the greatest martial artist in the world. That bragging has worn on Wong's nerves, and now he has challenged Lee to a fight in Lee's own studio.
Inside Lee's studio a small assembly of people are gathered to watch a fight that will very quickly become the stuff of legends. The doors are barred to the public- this is a private grudge match, and only one man can be victorious. What happens next will leave fans of Bruce Lee, and martial arts in general, searching for the truth for decades.

Lees martial art relied on one boxing move, the right cross. Lee said it was the most devastating move in all of fighting.
Bruce Lee was ahead of his time as far as fighting and fitness was concerned. He created the concept of mixed martial arts and fitness and the importance of both to be a top fighter. When Bruce Lee sparred his students, he let the student land some blows, this helps the student learn to measure distance and how to make contact. If Bruce just beat the tar out of his students, they would never learn anything.
This is agreed. Most of the time in sparring, it's not about winning. It is about learning. And for distance measuring, it is also agreed, due to his wing chin background. For a close range martial art style, you need to know when to go and take back.

I agree completely. Cause Bruce lee was not fighter. He was an actor and martial arts teacher. His art waz more about discipline. Of course if Bruce fought a boxer or MMA fighter he would have been destroyed. I'm sure he would be the first to admit that. But that's just not the point.

Its his brutal blows and impressive speed together what made him a fighting prodigy
Who never fight in any single championship to prove that he is legit.

i miss getting to train in Jeet Kun Do. my sensei was 3rd dan. Master Lee being first, his students being 2cd, my sensei being one of their students. it was also the one thing that made things difficult when training in the aikido based self defense for the prison system. I wasn't used to having to be less proactive. escrima on the other hand served me quite well in baton training as i was already familiar with proper baton usage. which is also the reason i never lost a baton fight against any of my training mates.
Let's just say Bruce Lee was on a level so high that the only opponent he had left to fight was death itself.......
and he lost to a 1st round KO
hahaha..even superman was jealous...hahahaha
@@Tuvok_Shakur nope that was just his admission fee 🤷♂️
You have to die to fight death maybe his brain swelling was him taking a shot from death so he could deal out a deadly counter attack after?
In my universe Bruce Lee was an undefeated UFC fighter. he's retired now tho, living in Hawaii.
Part of me feels that you're joking but another part of me believes you're from an alternate universe which I want to go to so I can get trained by Bruce
@Huynherful Bruce was the best but Ali was the greatest
@Huynherful Bruce Lee was striving for total enlightenment he achieved that upon his physical death.

If bruse lee took part in the ufc or in any real fight with a pro he would die
@@7ultras157 agree with you 1000%. Bruse Lee would've gotten his behind ✋ed to him. But not Bruce Lee!
You can sort of see what he's talking about Bruce Lee not being able to use his full skill set in MMA when Conor McGregor fought Floyd Mayweather. So many times during that fight you can see Conor having to mentally stop himself from throwing knees and kicks. He'd see an opening, instinctively go for it, then have to pull it. Then he'd get tagged by Mayweather. He still went ten rounds though. I could see Bruce Lee earning a reputation as being too dangerous to fight. Like all those girls that don't want to fight that guy Chris Cyborg.
That fight must have been extremely frustrating for Connor. He literally held back. If he was able to use his full arsenal of techniques, Floyd would have been lost.
Truly a marked left behind

R.I.P. Bruce Lee...
Bruce used to get into street fights a lot before he started his training
yep he did.
Proof
@@rinreborn7364 Recently discovered police reports of run-ins with triads. Bruce's parents had to send him to the USA because he was street fighting too much. Just because you're too lazy to do research, doesn't mean it isn't true.
Mom's Spaghetti most of Lee’s street fights were not recorded.
@@rinreborn7364 There is a radio interview with Eunice Lam, wife of Bruce's brother, who walked with Bruce in the street where Bruce kicked down four teddy boys, and Lam didn't witness how Bruce did that because it was just too fast! The interview is in Cantonese.

@Huynherful it's Conor, one N
In the late 90s / early 2000s I performed a broad sword form at a Kung Fu festival at golden gate park in San Francisco. After my performance a older man came up to me with a few students behind him and asked me if he can take a look at my sword as it was a heavy 9 ring sword not typical of performance use. He held it in his hands before giving it back to me and complemented me on my performance.
After he and his students left my Sifu asked me if I knew who the old man was in which I replied "no". He then told me that man is Wong Jackman, the guy that fought Bruce Lee! I didn't think much of it at the time. But whenever I think about it now I can't help but feel that In a way I've been connected in a way to Bruce Lee even though his death was many years before I was even born.
Probably should have mention Chuck Norris. Chuck and Lee were friends in the late 60s and had sparing matches while filming Way of the Dragon(1972), at the time Chuck Norris was a well renowned Karate Champion for six consecutive years and a black belt in Tang Soo Do.
Here is what I found in an article of what Chuck Norris had said about Bruce Lee: “The truth is Lee was a formidable opponent with a chiselled physique and technique. I totally enjoyed sparring and just spending time with him”. Continuing, the actor and athlete added, “He was as charismatic and friendly in the ring and at home as he was on film. His confidence and wit were dazzling, and sometimes even debilitating to others…Lee was lightning fast, very agile and incredibly strong for his size”. “He was very fast,” Norris explained, adding, “He learned from everybody, he had a very open mind. Bruce never believed in only one style, or one style is the best, he felt that there were so many ‘best’ of everything. He said that everything had strengths and weaknesses and what he wanted to do was find the strengths and use them”.

No, it goes.
What does Bruce Lee say when he’s thirsty? Waaaaataaaa!
Im a huge Bruce Fan, he has my highest Respect, and id say he was a Great Fighter, maybe he was the Greatest Fighter back in his Time, but saying his is the strongest and could beat anyone even today, No. Back in the day we didnt had professional Mixed Martial Arts, meaning lesser people training like people Nowdays. Bruce created it, by wanting a real competition with everything included and not a point system tournament, today we have so many Fighter inspired by Bruce, many of them Legends today, praising him what he left the World.
Hard to imagine Lee would've worn a Japanese karate gi as depicted in these animations.
even harder imagining an american understanding there are different countries with asians.
Bruce Lee is a Legend, who agrees?
Nobody!
maybe not you but I sure do
@Jamar Grant you want likes too I guess, who agrees?
I disagree unless he can beat me
and as with all legends, over blown. he prob would be able to win a title but some of the claims I'm this video are hilarious.
Does anyone know Bruce Lee's quote: *BECOME A WATER MY FRIEND*
Me: *OKE*
Like water
“You must be shapeless, formless, like water. When you pour water in a cup, it becomes the cup. When you pour water in a bottle, it becomes the bottle. When you pour water in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Water can drip and it can crash. Become like water my friend.” - Bruce Lee
