I think lesson 2 should move to the top of the list!. One thing I saw somewhere if you want to flood coat over the edge put your masking tape underneath right up to the bottom edge. The hardened drops of resin will set on the masking tape, not the bottom of the board making it easy to peel off. Love the tray, can't wait too view in a few more years to see the evolution of Bela's galaxy art, will be space cities soon, not just planets. 😊
Don't take this the wrong way, but where you lack skill in woodworking you more than makeup and artistic ability. I just love the the way you made that outer space painting. That's why I watch your video's
Turned out super cool! 🚀 🌚 💯!!! Didn't realize packing tape can be used for making borders. So simple, we'll maybe😁 Ty 🙏 once again. Looking forward to the next video!! Also never used the tung oil of you often speak. Will definitely try.
Wonderful creation💖. Looks really fun and I love the shine. I do have a problem when I've made them shiny as whatever is being carrier on them slides around. I've starting giving an anti-slip mat with the really slippery trays with no lip. Does anyone have another solution?? Great video!! Thanks Bela, should be there on Sunday. ❤
hey Snoopy! i think its either shine or antilslip there is no in between. or at least as far as I know, but throw this question up on livestream we can discuss it!
It won't let me send this on Facebook as it says its reviewing due to changes to messaging in Europe. I'm sending this just for info. Years ago one of my nephews was into space and wanted a space clock. I had plenty of spray paint so thought I would use it for the clock. That led me into looking for ideas doing a similar thing that you've done. At that time I'd just started using resin more as a varnish topcoat. I have loads of ideas books I write and stick stuff into for when my mojo isn't working. I don't usually use the books like this… ideas I have aplenty, it's focusing myself on something, especially when it's a complex piece!!!🙄😂 A couple of years ago the notes came in useful when I revisited to make a couple of items on commission. I did a trawl on UA-cam to see if there was anything I could springboard of and found some ideas I noted. I really want to do something on the 3D line with space similar to on the AB Creative video but actual make the 3D planets and has me rethinking it now I've seen what you have created. Thought I'd send you some of the links as it might spark some ideas with you. I hadn't thought about glow in the dark but that could be stunning. I have used galaxy dust and ink, interference powder and chameleon powders and flakes. I've also used holographic and super fine glitter - not so that you realise it's glitter but just a smidge to add to the space feel. I am thinking about using a tiny bit of different ones in individual layers so the streaks overlay one another when all the layers are complete. I really want to have a go at a multi layer space piece when I've got time to plan it out. I want to make spherical planets to layer into the piece so it's a proper deep 3D piece. Anyway, here are the videos I think might be for interest for what you are doing. if the adhesion is not perfect it will seep under the masking tape too. i would recommend packing tape OR very high quality frogtape

I think you should, oh and do a little on the planets or just the stars and comets!! I ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ it. I hope your day is blessed.

Beautiful are, how did you make the stars?
thank you! i barely pressed the spray tip to have it spray out a tiny amount
@@AeginaCraft Thank you :)
Wow! Very nice outcome. What percentage of alcohol do you use for the bubbles? I use 99% and it seems to leave a mark whenever I use it.
i use 95, BUT i dont spray anymore once it starts to cure cos it will leave a mark!
@@AeginaCraft thank you. That’s what I’m doing wrong. I see you use quite a bit so that is probably better.
