I can’t tell you how meaningful it was for me to hear him talk about his struggles with dyslexia. I grew up very poor as a child and had an interest in magic, but was never really able to do anything with it until I got older and had my own money and was able to buy DVDs and lectures. Trying to read a magic book while being dyslexic when I was a kid and working out the meaning of it was so difficult. Anyway, I came here because I’m auditioning for membership soon. Fingers crossed wish me luck.
What a great interview. I'm 78 and live in the U.S. and although I'll probable never be able to visit, I want to join, in order to support the magic fraternity.

@@robertpound135 Thanx Robert. I'll be getting with you in June. That's really exciting. I have a rich magic background. My Great Uncle was a vaudeville magician. Long after he retired and when he recognized I was serious at age 12 he spent a lot of time with me. I was actually performing regularly on a local kids show at age 16. After each Saturday performance I would stop by Uncle Joe's and he would critique me. To bad we didn't have VCR's in those days. Local shows were not recording in Kinnascope. Sad! -keith
I want to join also in this prestigious organization but the interview & exam are makes nerve-wracking and intimidating. I hope I can make it soon.

Could u do a video on pointers to building a magic routine? From story telling (banter) opener options....middle options and ended options a long with other tips that have helped u build successful shows

Of course he should be let back in. Remember Patrick Page... he wrote a fantastic magic book. But the Circle banned him because they thought there was too much information in the book and he should have charged more! Just trying to impose themselves on someone's business.
The Circle are like that. They do some great thing, as in the video, but there are some complete spunktrumpets there. One of them on the council will have a vendetta against Craig and is blackballing him.

@@robertpound135 I was thinking about it but I don't think I would be happy with some of its members, As I fill that thay are using the magic circle for them self's not for the art of magic and for the Circle not like the old days were its members loved the art in magic. .I loved your interview and regard you as a wonderful professional magician who loves the art not like some ?? bless you and your family and friends stay safe kindest mike

what a great interview Craig, i myself am not a member of the magic circle but that is because for one reason. I have the passion for magic i am Gigging and i have created effects which are being sold through Murphy`s Magic, i have entered magic competition`s at club level and achieved runner up but..In my mind i have only been into magic for the last 6 years. I have practised every single day for that amount of time without fail, for me not joining the magic circle is in my mind, and that is quite simply because i feel I am still a learner driver if you like, I have not earned the right yet to be able to be part of it. My Question is Craig....Am i being too hard on myself
i did a interveiw couple years ago,i got letter back i failed,but i never heard anymore from them,it was for appentice scheme

Most magicians don't look like magicians, but that guy has the best magician face I've ever seen. If you were making a turn of the century magic poster (a la Houdini, Carter the Great, etc.) you could put Robert Pound's face on it and it would look absolutely correct.
An amazing interview. From a personal viewpoint the comment re occasionally visiting a Monday meeting and feeling somewhat an outsider rang a bell! Craig has this changed any of your earlier comments which have somewhat criticised magic clubs in general?
