Respected Ma'am, after assigning excitation, why do we make that vertical line from the triangle? What does it signify? Also, here it is from top to bottom but in the coupler video it is from bottom to top. Please explain.
@@RFDesignbasics Thank you very much. Ma'am/Sir, I have to build thin film microwave attenuators for my thesis work whose presentation date is near. I am experiencing some difficulties in simulation. Could I mail you my doubts to the email provided in the about section? Thanks.
as much as i know when u simulate the CPW u assume a infinitively long transmission line comin into ur port and u do excitation like input from that port and use the waveport type
Thank you so much, Madam. It is a great explanation of the Microstrip line using HFSS. Again thank you.
I did this example twice. I was happy with it both times! Good work.
Very clear explanation 👍
Thank you 🙏
Seconded
Very nice ma'am, it help me a lot.
This was helpful. Thank you
Hello, I just see 1 one S parameter st(1,1) why we dont have 4 S parameters, can you help me?
Hola gracias por compartir tus conocimientos saludos desde mi amada Venezuela.
MAY I ask where's the difference about the lumped port integral line up to down vs down to up?
No difference.. E-fileds are anyway switching between upside and downside
Perfect! Great tutorial
Thank you🙏
It's very helpful
Thank you
very good explanation....
in hfss 2022 r2 I'm unable to create lumped port
GOT MY PROBLEM SOLVED BY CHANGING MODE
Same problem can u explaine it clearly
very helpful! Thank you!
Ma'am, please share the link of research paper from whom the dimensions of this project have been used.
Thank you.

It's e field lines which signifies TE10 dominant mode excitation. Direction doesn't matter because it's time varying oscillating field.

You can send your queries. We will look into that.
Thank you so much for the video, is there a reason we need to assign port to both side?
To check the transmission
hello, can you help me , how to plot resonance frequency please . i am getting stuck at that point kindly share some videos or any matrial please
Can u plz make a video on 4x4 Butler matrix using HFSS at 5.4GHz
great video! thank you but Im looking for phase velocity but I coundnt found it can anybody help? Where I can see it?
How to simulate the CPW electrode for independence matching. Could you give a demo by HFSS. Thanh you
We will do a demo on that. Thank you :-)

Can't we just drag using the middle mouse button to rotate quickly
Why the microstrip line is draw as "Rectangle" not "Box"?
Is the copper thickness too small to ignore it?
Yes there is not much difference. If you want to consider it, you can take a box and thickness as 0.035 mm. You will get approximate similar results.
Hello, do you know how to do a planar dipole with balun?
Thanks for the video
thank you so much.
Why there was no thickness for ground plane, microstrip line it should have a thickness?
You may take thickness of 0.035 mm and in that case need to assign copper/conductor. If we take zero thickness and assign PEC. It gives same result.
@@RFDesignbasics Thank you for explanation
Hello, can you help me to design microstrip line discontinuity step width using hfss
You can use polyline to draw any tapered line.
Z parameter should be close to 50 ohms?
Yes
Can anyone explain why she subtracts 10 by 1.5 in the x-axis for the line? (10-1.5,0, 1.6). [7.01 minutes]
To start at 1.5 mm before 10mm
I don't understand why you simulated an arbitrary line not 50ohms line that you have calculated in the first part of the video?
It is Same line which is calculated in first part, but some approximation is made for the dimension for obvious reason.
does it matter how we chose the dimensions of raidation box?
Yes of course
How we calculate dimensions of microstrip line
Amazing thanks a lot
Can we use pdms substrate in hfss 2016 version?
U can use any substrate I guess. If it is not available in the list, you can add one by knowing its properties.
@@RFDesignbasics yeah i figured out
Are you providing classes to teach design in this software?kindly reply.
I am interested to enroll
