♥️ to you. Your vlogs are never boring, they delight from your beautiful Chateau ( love the turret project ) to a gorgeous neighboring village, castle, cheese of the week etc. Isabella was a wonderful co host. 🌻 from 🇨🇦.
What a truly wonderful vlog. Bravo Isabella too! You two are still so excited by everything in France, its pure joy! We have been in France for over 30 years and it still fills us with joy...you two absolutely put huge smiles on our faces. Please never think ‘everyday life’ is too boring...its wonderful! Viviane I think maybe you need a proper Asparagus knife, sort of curved and you cut below the soil...that way the ‘raw’ top doesn’t rot...thinking also you might need to heavy weed your asparagus patch, lots of weed competition will reduce growth...which is horrific if you love asparagus as much as we do, and clearly you do too. Big hugs and thankyou...still smiling 😘😘
Thank you! Yes, we adore asparagus and that is great advice! Where are you in France? It’s true that we are completely in love (still) with this amazing country, so it must be true love. 🥰These videos are now giving us extra inspiration to see our surroundings with new eyes. 💖🥰🌸
This is my absolute favorite chateau channel. Your family is so delightful and Simon did an excellent job on the turret. Loved the visit to Saumur too and the local winery. Thanks for sharing the Chateau love as we all need some extra love these days.
Hello Vivienne, Simon and Isabella. I am slowly catching up with your excellent vlogs. Congrats Isabella on your lovely tribute for your Mom, great job! Love the turret closet and hope to see it again when complete and in use. Amazing content! Thank you all s much🙏🏻❤️
Oh, Vivienne, it is so wonderful to see you, Simon, and Isabella again. Isabella has many of your sweet gestures and tinkling laugh which is very endearing. I find your videos absolutely delightful and I don't think it would matter what you include it would all be very interesting. Thank you for taking the time to share your life with us, I am so glad to hear that things are opening up a bit in France. Here in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada we are just starting to come out of a lockdown (3rd wave) slowly, slowly... Much love to you all! (So glad that Pavlova is feeling better!!).
Hi Cathy! So happy to hear that you are easing out of lockdown. That’s really great news! We are delighted you are joining us. Pavlova is indeed feeling much better and we even left the house and took her on a little holiday this week (next video!), so you shall see for yourself. Kisses! 💖🥰🌸😘
Bellaboo!! Love seeing you on here! And Simon, thank you for inspiring Mirko to upgrade our closet ⭐️! Love you all. Viv, another truly lovely glimpse into the wonders of French life! See you soon, and looking forward to meeting all of your ‘Chateau Love’ friends! Xoxo, Little Sister
your family's energy is so sweet, kind and uplifting! i love watching all three of you, there is so much harmony! I just wish there were more videos, more often. Thank you for sharing your life with us.
Thank you! We are going to try to make more videos regularly. Happily with our restrictions easing, this should be a little easier. We have some fun adventures coming very soon! 💖🥰🌸
Isabella is a natural. She really shines in this video!! More storage sounds great.Love the Turret idea!! Thank you for taking us to Samaur!!! Seeing the castle up close is amazing!!! I really appreciate your taking us with you on your journeys!!! Love from Vermont
Such love, kindness and devotion to each other is heartening. Thank you for sharing a small part of your days with us. You always lift me up as it must others. 🇨🇦❤️
Ideally cut each day to keep it tender and productive. It will do much better without the grass covering. May I suggest you use a piece of woven weed cover over the length of the row once this years harvest is over, the grass will die of underneath over the winter. Peg it down with stones of tent pegs. It’s a real bonus having a productive patch, a wonderful find.
Two things lol. 1. I could never get away with dressing that nice when going into the garden lol. Dirt & mud just seems to jump on me lol. Kuddos to you! 2. Really enjoy your sister's music. Makes me picture the old glamor scenes from old films. That have a very glamorous singer laying on the piano whilst singing soft melodies. Very relaxing indeed.
You guys are too sweet! I think the grubbiness of the garden maybe doesn’t quite show up on camera! 😂😂😂 It’s there...we promise! I’ll pass on your lovely message to Ashley. She is truly like a 40s torch singer. If you look up Ashley Locheed on UA-cam, there are some great videos! 💖🥰🌸
How wonderful to see your sweet Isabella. I hope we get to see more of her! How lucky you are to have Simon who is so talented and fun. Thank you for keeping it real....even life in a Chateau has it's challenges.
Thank you, Andrea! Yes...life in a chateau can have many challenges!! Simon & Isabella both thank you for your kind words. I am indeed lucky to have them. 💖🥰🌸
Hello Uncles!!!! So happy to see you here. Give Crissy a huge hug from me. We still love our roses, just not quite as many this time around. 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
You did so well Isabella and what a lovely breakfast you prepared for your mother! Now to hear your harp playing please! Gosh Simon, what a marvellous storage room you have made in the turret - you’re a very handy husband to have! Loved your trip to Saumur - the Chateau there is superb - I’d love to see how they get those great lumps of stone up to the ramparts!
Hi, Judith! Isabella and Simon are in the car with me now and both send their heartfelt “thank yous” for your kind words. We are so happy you are joining us!! 💖🌸🥰
@@ChateauLove Hi Vivienne, lovely to hear from you! Say hello to Simon and Isabella! Thank goodness the weather has turned for the better! I hope you had a great day!
How lovely to see you harvesting asparagus from your garden! The vineyards look amazing and seemed to have survived those late season frosty nights and seeing the wine caves reminds me so much of my trips to France! Darling Isabella is home for a bit and away from studies....and the summer looks very promising. I do not think I've seem a more elegant closet than the one Simon has built for your girls in the turret......you really do need to add a wee chandelier to that ceiling rose and a few gilded mirrors as well.....plus a little velvet thrown in.....maybe a lovely velvet colored chair for slipping shoes on. Just such a dreamy turret closet EVER!
Another wonderful video.thank you for sharing.the turret is amazing, you and your family are such a joy to watch.now to wait for the next video,I’m sure it will be just as good.
Love it but a bit to much sweet , at moment nauseated sugar sweet .. but you are surely a lovely family , but make it more real and less perfect, l love the song but over and overly used pity .
What a lovely daughter, with your lovely smile, so sweet. The drive through the town, what fabulous building. Hubby did a great job for your storage. Take care and keep safe.x
Your sister has a beautiful voice. Takes me back to when I was younger and my mother would put on an album or two. Then she would clean house, and I would sit on the couch and listen 🎶 Simon, what a nice turret you built for your wife and daughter.
Bon jour, I always get so excited to see a new vlog notification from you all!! You guys are so Amazing in the renovations of your chateau. (I love, love, love). Isabella is so beautiful, just like her Mum. I enjoy seeing where you live. It's so spectacular, like a piece of Heaven. Wow!! Thank you for sharing. Love ya ✨🥞💐🍷🐩🏰🧥👗👠👜🛍
How sweet and beautiful Isabella is, but she has wonderful parents. I just caught up on all the videos and I love them and I'm so happy that I found you. Much love from Oklahoma USA Jackie 🇺🇸💖
Thank you for the tour of Saumur! What an amazing fortress chateau! Can't wait to see the interior that must be authentic, historical and magical! Poor Simon, you'll need to pick a wavy edged bowl if lockdown continues....that way Vivienne can't cut all your hair ends at the same length..... Take care, stay safe and continue to feed us lovely views and share your life in France. Where i live we have the highest per capita cases of Covid in the country and the 3rd wave has our provincial medical chief sending ICU patients to the provinces on our sides. We've seen a sharp increase of Covid in patients below the age of 40 and have had admissions and deaths of 20 to 40 year olds consistently since the start of this 3rd wave. We are expecting new restrictions to be put in place by Friday this week with a stay-at-home, only leave for essentials and a no traveling ban extended until end of June. Already no one from any other family can visit anyone else like neighbors checking on each other and no one can chat in the back yards or across the fences from each other. Many of us are dispirited as we cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel. Thank God your peaceful and gentle life vlogs and that of other chateau owners in France (only 3 others) are my saving grace because they show me that Covid isn't winning everywhere and there is hope! Your chateau vlog showcases the beautiful dream of ownership, what transformations you create in it and that, to me, is worth watching. Thank you!
Hello! I am always so happy to see your kind and incredibly informative messages. Where are you living? Our lockdown has only just eased (outdoor dining only and 9PM curfew), but we also understand all too well about the isolation. These videos have been a true help to me to alleviate loneliness, and I am so happy that they can bring a little joy to others as well. We happily have been recently vaccinated and can breathe slightly easier, but must remain ever vigilant. Your kind words are always so welcome. Thank you! 💖🥰🌸
Welcome to your beautiful daughter. Thanks for another great video. We went out for our first meal in a Restaurant in a year last night. We had the place to ourselves, great fish, and great to be out and someone else doing the cooking. You and some other Chateau vlogs have kept us going, as in the North West of England we have had lock down for nearly 6 months. And like you it has been raining for the last 3 weeks. Lets hope for brighter days and more meals and meeting with love ones. Thanks for your laughter it really helps. Joy
Hello, Joy! Congratulations on eating in a restaurant!!! 🎉🎊😘🥂We know the feeling...and will even show it in the next video. Like you, we found it exhilarating, mostly to be in the company of others. Thank you for your kind words, but honestly sharing the videos and making all of these new friends internationally whilst stuck at home has been a blessing for us as well. 💖🥰🌸
Hey, Fred!! Don’t worry, we are vaccinated and being extra-safe. Thankfully the whole family has taken the pandemic seriously, and hopefully life will improve slowly but surely. Hope you are well in our beloved TN! 💖🥰🌸
OMG I LOVE that the lights flashed quite fabulously 🙌💫💖as you asked Simon when he was going to come out of the closet!! LOL Again-you're all delightful!
Having my morning coffee & enjoying your attics ...everything was beautiful and charming ...glad lockdowns are ending soon for you .. We're slowly coming back to a normality in the states also -- thank you again , beautiful people !
Hello, Susan! Haha...you are correct! He is far more fashionable than I... but he does like a bit of 70s rock so perhaps I can entice him with a dapper t-shirt. 😂🌸💖
Caution: Be mindful that direct sunlight through those windows will fade the colors of your shoes and clothing! Be sure to have curtains on the windows that can be pulled open when needed, but are closed during the day. Nice job, Simon!
Another lovely vlog, so nice to see your beautiful daughter joining in the fun. Isabella is a credit to you both, and if nasty people say horrible things it’s not a reflection on any of you, they must be very troubled in their own lives xxxx
Thank you, Cherie! I agree completely. Happily most everyone has been so lovely, and I wish nothing but happiness to those whose lives are full of negativity. We are delighted you are joining us! 💖🥰🌸
Funny enough the weather over here in America is pretty similar over there in Europe in France. Thank you for the beautiful tour of the castle and the whole city. What a lovely place to live I loved it when I lived in Ireland I have visited the UK about six times I only wish I would have visited France and Italy before unfortunately I can't travel now I can't afford it like I did before, but I can dream about visiting just watching your channel. Can't wait for the next video I've watched them all so far. Much love from Oklahoma USA Jackie 🇺🇸💖
My dog got pancreatitis from eating sausage be careful. your bleeding heart plants were beautiful too. I cant wait to see your organized handbag and shoe turret. Beautiful family!
What a beautiful photo of the two of you when your relationship was just beginning,so romantic. You are such a beautiful couple and your daughter is charming as well.
Hi Kathy! Yes, we’re still going strong, and hopefully able to find more fun things to share now that restrictions are loosening a bit. So happy you are still with us. 💖🥰🌸
Hi, Shawn! Pavlova is feeling much better indeed. Sadly she had a bladder infection, and oh how we wish dogs could talk sometimes. Thankfully all is well. 💖🌸💖
Rhubarb is one of my favorite plants! It has this lovely tropical feel to it and I often use it as a statement plant in a perennial border. For rhubarb dishes, gather the young stems before the plant blooms. It is like the dandelion.... pick the leaves when young for best results and taste. After it blooms the leaves become coarse, the stems sturdier and more acidic. This applies to rhubarb too. The best time to pick the stems is before the plant starts sending up a flower stem. Those "pink" stems are more prevalent before the flower stalk sprouts too. The plant prefers full sun but will tolerate a little shade. Same principle as the asparagus applies to rhubarb, especially if you have the sweet "strawberry" or "Canada Red" varieties which are more dwarf in size and have bright, consistent red stems. There is a rule of thumb regarding plants that produce fruit in Spring (early Summer). Divide in Fall. Your rhubarb is quite large, you could do with splitting it in 2. You'll be surprised when you lift the root ball - the roots are like tree branches: large and stoic. If I were you right now, I'd take my sharp knife and pull the flower spikes from the plant to allow it to 'breathe' and produce new stems to pick in a few weeks.
Thank you for this great advice! This is our first house with either rhubarb or asparagus. I’ll definitely divide the rhubarb. Sadly, with the weeks of rain I didn’t notice the flowers until it was too late. Is there something I can do with them? If anyone would know, surely it’s you. 🥰☺️💖
Vivienne, to truly pick Asparagus, point your knife down towards the soil and push it about 1 - 1.5 inches into the ground, curved blade towards the asparagus spear, Use your blade knife to cut the spear and pull out . When you only cut from the top of the soil you can actually stunt part of the growth habit of the plant. By digging the blade of your knife below the soil surface, you encourage the plant to send out more rhizomes underneath the surface, thereby increasing your yields year by year. When you cut the spear above the ground, you invite bugs and other pests to enter the plant from the top down. Your knife blade should be very sharp and curved. Cut as much as possible at a 45 degree angle. I suspect you have been gathering your asparagus spears for a few years the way you are doing it and if so, that is why the spears are very large. The plant is letting you know that its roots are starving and have no choice but to send up a thick stalk in the hopes that it will bloom and produce little red seed heads. By cutting below the surface you'll allow the plant to spread its feet a little more and give you thinner spears in more abundance next year. Remember: do not pick any spears for a minimum of 3 years per plant to let it establish itself. After that, only gather 1/3rd of the spears per plant patch. You can roast the spears or my favorite way to eat them is recently washed in cold water and the tips 'snapped' between your fingers in 1 inch lengths, served as a topping over a mesclun greens salad and freshly roasted and still warm, garlic clove and Parmesan salad dressing.
It is lovely that your daughter has decided to join you on some of the vlogs. She seems to be a delightful young lady. Please don't take any of the trolls to heart as they are unhappy souls and just want others to join them in their misery.
Thank you! You are so right about trolls. Happily we are pretty thick-skinned and actually most everyone has been lovely. Life has had enough real challenges over the last year, so pettiness seems quite silly at this point. Thank you for joining us!!! 💖🥰🌸
I'm sure you're familiar with the Mackenzie-Childs brand. I follow Victoria's channel. The way you were talking about the field at the beginning reminded me of her. What happened to their company is tragic to me, but I love her quirkiness and creativity. As an artist and ceramicist, if you don't know the brand, check it out. It's a totally different style from yours. At the beginning of her vlog she tours their former home which is amazing. Very Alice in Wonderland meets New England.😅 Was the turret too small to turn into a bedroom or bathroom? Is it close to your room? Maybe show us a floorplan and where each room is as you work on them? What is in the other turret?

Having my morning coffee & enjoying your attics ...everything was beautiful and charming ...glad lockdowns are ending soon for you .. We're slowly coming back to a normality in the states also -- thank you again , beautiful people !
Thank you, and so glad you are slowly regaining a normal life! This week is the first for us with eased restrictions, and we are so happy! 💖🥰🌸
Lovely how when food is left to grow in the wild, it’s imperfectly perfect.
Indeed! Thank you. 💖🥰🌸
Just love that I discovered your video.
Hello Linda! We are delighted that you are joining us. 😁🌸💖🥰
Simon is such a gentleman....wearing his dress shirts while being a carpenter/DIY'er. No old torn rock concert tshirts for him!
Hello, Susan! Haha...you are correct! He is far more fashionable than I... but he does like a bit of 70s rock so perhaps I can entice him with a dapper t-shirt. 😂🌸💖
Great turret
Loving the turret closet!
Thank you, Risa! Now I just have to unpack all of those clothes...😫🤪😁💖🥰🌸
I hear you about getting the handbags out!
Hi, Judy!! Yes...they are very, very restless!!! 😂🌸🥰💖 👜 👛

Thank you, dear Steph! I am always delighted to see your messages. 😁💖🌸
Caution: Be mindful that direct sunlight through those windows will fade the colors of your shoes and clothing! Be sure to have curtains on the windows that can be pulled open when needed, but are closed during the day. Nice job, Simon!
Hello Dolores! Simon says “thank you!” and you are absolutely correct about curtains! 😁💖🥰
I hope Polov is feeling better. The way u put this video together was very nice . Love everyday life videos🐣🦆🐶

Your family looks as a nice family, so I subscribed to your channel☀️🌿❤️
Creamed (white sauce) Asparagus on toast is my favorite breakfast food.
What a great idea, and a lovely change from avocado. Thank you! 🥰💖🌸
Lovely family💕🧚🏻♂️💕
Thank you, Maria! 💖🥰🌸
Apparently you cut the flowers off the rhubarb 👍
Thanks, Paula! It’s amazing how much I’m learning from these lovely comments...it’s like having an extended family. 💖🌸🥰
Woodworm? If only it had been Wormwood and we could make absinthe.
Mmm...we shall definitely try this delicious salad idea! 💖🌸🥰
You all are so sweet together ❤🌻
Thank you, Cindy! 💖🥰🌸

“Free our frocks” - love that!
Thanks, Renee!!! The frocks have been getting restless...😂🥰🌸💖
...and also apparently have been shrinking! 😂😂
Mine have been shrinking too! 🤣
Simon is too funny! Is he still in the closet with the disco lights on? :_)
Haha!! He’s been freed from the closet but the disco lights are always on!!! 🕺🏻🎶🍾🌸😂😂
