Vivienne, it's so nice to see you successfully on the mend. Your happiness is infectious. With Simon and friends, you'll be in the pink in no time at all... la vie en rose 🌹.
Vivian you are looking well, so glad you are on the mend. Simon has been doing a wonderful job getting the cleaning and renovations done. You are truly blessed with family and friends.
Vivienne, please thank Simon for being so wonderful and caring to you during your hospital visits along with your family, your sister, your friends, especially Sally, who came over for the weekend to make sure you were on the mend. Love your exquisite brooch and all the flowers for your garden. Love and hugs, Marjory & Princess Dolly 💝💝
I agree completely. As Sally and I always say to each other, “We could have fun in a cardboard box”. Beauty and comfort are nice, but love is truly all that matters. 🥰🏰💖
When you find that friend who is a true gem, hang on to them. What a delightful time in the " broccante" and jewellery stores. Your pool and plants look fabulous.
Another stunning video. Sally is a good friend! Enjoy your brooch! Simon is so dapper doing his work! And of course Vivienne you are enchanting as usual.
Loved it. Thank you 😊 Giving is a wonderful feeling - your friend and her friendship is a beautiful thing 🎉 Simon is an absolute gem. Great to see you both looking so well and loving life ❤
I Love your channel ❤️ You and Simon are such a loving happy couple you make everything seem good and enjoyable. Loved the trip to Paris with your happy friend. How nice she came to spend time with you since your being HOME again and that beautiful brooch she bought for you!! How very special a gift was that ❤ A true true friend ❤
Aha, thank you for gifting a Happy Heart to all of us! Being surrounded by love, beauty and sweetness are the roses on the cake of life. Off to purchase some of that delicious cheese! Sending love from the ❤️🇺🇸❤️.
It's people like you, Simon, and Sally that make the world a better place. Sally is a special friend and I wish I had a friend that was like her. What a lovely episode. I love shopping in Paris too!!
Another fascinating & varied vlog! Thank you for the opportunity to share in your captivating journey! So thankful, Vivienne for your returning energy, the color in your cheeks, and, of course, your enthusiasm for all things beautiful & historic! It's great to see Simon in DIY mode again. Cannot wait to see how you transform this space. Nice job fixing the ceiling cracks, Simon. I do wonder why you didn't take the opportunity to dig out a groove to bury the chandelier wiring behind some plaster repair... I'm just curious! 🤔 I love your channel!❤ Watching from the Pacific Northwest in the USA!
Vivienne, good to see you out and about! Hello to Sally. What a dear friend to buy you the beautiful brooch! Simon is doing a good job in the bedroom. Looking forward to seeing the finished room!
I get so excited when I see a Chateau Love notification Vivienne! I do love everything about your vlogs and the ‘bloopers’ with Sally at the end were delightful, what a beautiful friend you have in her. Simon has done a great job on the home front too and I can never get enough of your renovations either, you both have such great taste in decor. A friend of mine made a beautiful show of geraniums in her conservatory using an idea taken from something she had seen in Europe. She hung several layers of shelves from chains hanging down from the ceiling (like a swing), painted plastic laundry baskets white and filled them with colourful potted geraniums (or Pelargoniums as we call them) which cascaded over the baskets and what a gorgeous sight they made! Wishing you many blessings and keep on keeping well Vivienne. 🙏🏻❤️🏰
I love your channel Vivian and it’s so great to see you on the mend. 😌From all the vlogs I watch you have the best Vlog content🤩. They are very informative, entertaining, enriching and you share your life with us plus its not all DIY. You are very blessed to have such a loving and enriching family and friends. I love watching you not allow your experience of a month ago to take your power away; it takes true spiritual strength . 💜 We love you, you are an inspiration and you keep us smiling. lots of love💖🌈🇨🇦
Hi Vivienne and Simon, It's so nice when Sally visits, hi Sally. The bedroom will no doubt be beautiful, it was nice to see Paris through your eyes. The shops are stunning, I loved the furniture, the tables and the chairs, beautiful fabrics. We can't plant flowers yet; the weather hasn't decided if it's spring or still winter. Yours are going to be beautiful. Thanks for sharing. Love from N.Y.
I owned a wallpaper, painting, and a company that refurbished walls. Never did I find a wall that you would paint over the wallpaper. In time the 1st coat of paint over the previous wallpaper, never adhered. Sooner or later, the previous wallpaper begins to curl. I don't know what the walls are like in a chateau. But, I would definitely take off the old wallpaper. Then, prep with a primer, then paint or put on a wallpaper you like. I absolutely love Sally (not sure of the spelling) what a great friend you have in her. The love that shows between your husband and you is fantastic! All marriages should shine as bright as you two!
Thank you so much, Lisa! I am a lucky girl indeed. As for the wallpaper, it was a touch call, but when we started to remove it, the plaster walls were coming off as well, so we shall see. All the other rooms had lining paper before being painted, so we’re hoping for the best! 🏰💖
Everything starts to look great and you do not dig up tulips daffodils all the bulbs you put in in fall they stay and multiply all the best most of all health 🎉❤
What a treasure of a friend you have in Sally! The jewelry was fabulous to see, although I would have loved to see what Sally picked out! The amethyst set could have inspired a gorgeous purple historical dress! Simon has worked so hard he deserves Cheese!!😊
Hi Kelly, sally bought a beautiful Niello chain. Sadly I didn’t video it as I was looking at other things in the adjacent room (and she was being sneaky buying me the brooch), but you can google it. These chains are fascinating the way they are created. 🏰💖
Another lovely vlog. Good friend, good food, hubby busy at home, while you and Sarah go shopping. I like the paint color and the new plants. I love geraniums, too. It is good to see you on the mend. So glad Sarah was with you. Take care and love from Canada.
How lovely to hear so much more from Simon. He is often fairly silent in the background. It’s good to know that your recovery is progressing well, Vivienne.
So nice to see you and Sally together again! I DO remember her wrapping and taking that table on the airplane on her last visit! So sweet of her to buy you that beautiful broach! Girlfriends are the best! One of my besties lives the Loire Valley near Cussay and I'll visit her in June! On my last trip in Oct 2021, I purchase a lovely book at Chateau Chenoncceau of all their amazing fresh floral arrangements! She said that I should be taking the book home to Colorado.....I told her I bought an amazing book on fabrics from Chateau Versailles. She then said that we will "share" the floral book.....so I'll bring to back in June Simon deserves all the cheese he can eat for being such a big help with the pool, flowers and ceiling repair! What an angel! Cheers!
Regarding tulip flowers and bulbs. It's okay to leave bulbs in the ground 2 springs in a row. Once they have finished blooming, mark the spot where they were with a stick and the color of the bloom (or variety if you know it). Once the stems start to go yellowy-greenish, dig from 4 - 6 inches away from the clump and bring them up. Using a plastic milk crate or other container with a mesh bottom, line it with landscape fabric, lay about 3 inches of soil on the bottom and lay the bulbs (still with their stems and leaves attached) at a 45 degree angle, stems up in a row. Cover the bulbs with about 2 inches of soil, then lay the next row of bulbs, cover with soil, etc. until all are done. Store them in a cool but dry place (humidity will cause rot), darkened if possible. When the stem and leaves have dried to light beige, tug on the stem - if it pulls out with ease, the bulbs are ready to be stored until Fall planting. If, when you tug, it does not come out easily, the bulb is still taking the energy from the stem, so leave it for a few more days. Once all the stems are pulled out, gently remove the soil and "dig up" the bulbs. Sort them by size. A bulb of 3.5 - 5 cm at its widest will yield a flower next Spring. Anything between 2.5 to 3.25 cm will yield in 2 years and any bulb of 1 - 2 cm will take between 4 & 5 years to bloom. My father had 'Red Emperor' Darwin tulip bulbs for years and every 2nd Spring would go through the above process. He'd only keep the 3.5-5 cm wide bulbs. The smaller ones, he'd distribute to his family or plant them in a nursery bed at the back of the garden. Beware of rabbits! Where I live we have been having a run it with rabbits over the last 8 years. They love tulips!!! If ever you see that a tulip is about to burst into bloom tomorrow, if you've got rabbits in the area you can be sure that tomorrow morning, the flower will be either partly chewed up or be on the ground and only the stem sticks up to the sky. For daffodils, you don't need to separate the bulbs as often - I try to do it every 5 years. At least the rabbits and squirrels leave those alone!
Thank you so much! I love your great advice and have saved many of your wonderful suggestions. We have far fewer tulips this year, but I will do this over the next months and fingers crossed for next year! 🥰🏰💖
Amazing transformation. I love that you bring all these beautiful finds back to life with all your talents as an artist and designer. So much more special than just buying the finished article. And Simon is always there with his renovation projects. A great team !!
A lot of work to do for Simon in the castle, so tiring with the arms always up...But the result is there and this huge bedroom will be beautiful for sure ! I like your walk with your friend at the puces of st Ouen and the gorgeous chairs and all the video in fact ! Have a good week together hoping the sun will come soon for your flowers grow ❤
The flower beds look lovely, with the Camelias, etc. And I think, with just some nice fertilizer, you are going to have to eat your words about those roses 😁 I predict more beautiful flowers, than ever before 🌹🌹🌹
Hello, other chateau renovations cut a channel out in the ceiling to hide the wiring and plastered over it if they couldn't rewire it. Just a thought. The blue colored moulding is beautiful.
The white paint is coming across as warm on the video in daylight. I'm a cheese lover. I haven't tried the cheese and love the idea of using plain white toast vs crackers. Crackers as they tend to do, turn into crumbs immediately vs hold up to the weight of a cheese. The pink geraniums are my favorite. Roses are my longterm love. You and your friend are a great pair. Nothing lifts the spirit like being surrounded by love, support and people who want nothing but the best for us.
Here in north Texas I've had a hard time finding plants that tolerate our below freezing dips in winter and our scorching hot summers too. Having to replant at the beginning of spring, summer and fall, is challenging and expensive. This year I'm planting perennial verbena and more daylilies. This last winter was rather brutal for my palms, cycads, New Zealand flax, callas, agaves, mangaves and aspidistras. That was after a punishing summer of back to back 110°f days that annihilated many of my Fatsias, Acubas and even Cannas.😢 The weeds came back with a vengeance though. I've contemplated planting camellias, perhaps next fall. I'm saying a prayer that your roses comeback better than before.
All the best with the bedroom makeover!! Looking forward to the reveal!! How is it you went shopping in Paris and came home empty handed?? Are you just window shopping? Good to have an outing with a friend. Ah, the life of a Chatelaine!!🎉
A pleasure as always. So happy to see you're doing better Vivienne. You always have such a beautiful, friendly and charming disposition. I always look forward to your and Simons videos!! Thank you!
Thank you for showing so much of Paris. You’re doing such a wonderful job editing your videos, they are always so thoughtfully put together. Thank you!
Vivienne, I wait for your blog impatiently, you are so vivacious, your energy is infectious. Your decor is in keeping with the lavishness of the chateau , waiting to see the room finished.
Hi Robert, sadly at the flea market they just had the one, but I did love it and…for your eyes only… found the same one in a pair, soon to be shown when we finish our bedroom!! 😁😁😁😁😁😁🏰💖
Another wonderful time shared…looks like your bedroom will be lovely with all your decorating skills….enjoyed your Paris trip and the beautiful friendship you share…here’s to Spring ❤️❤️
Always have a couple of drinks before you go antiquing, and I guarantee you won't return home empty handed. Martinis have provided me with some of my most delightful finds!
So nice to see you on the mend and loved your shopping trip as an antiques dealer I would love that ❤ I too am redoing wallpapered rooms to much easier to care for painted wirh fabrics as the Colour etc I’ve stripped the wallpapers be interesting to see how your painting over it turns out for my next room …. Thank you for sharing ❤
So good to see the progress, you guys are a rehab wonder, love the choices of flowers, I also love camillas and cameos... I hope your not overdoing it and taking time to rest. How is your Dtr and what is she studying? Can't wait till next video
Hi Rebecca! Thank you! Isabella is hard at work on her Masters in Microbiology and Infectious Diseases. Hopefully when she finishes soon, we shall see more of her! 🥰🏰💖
Bonjour Vivienne and Simon and Sally is back we’re off to Paris it’s girls gone shopping time💖👏The antique stores oozing opulence Sally such a darling here my love this is for you an exquisite piece just for you Vivienne back home Simon busy painting the pool clean ready the plants thriving so caring a cheese loving diy living in a Chateau 🥰👌Loved the view of your property ponies getting a foot makeover rural France is just lovely as always your recovery is amazing as are your videos look forward to your next video Sally a darling friend have a fabulous week enchante The garden centre my love love Amore💖💖😘😘👌👌🌟🌟
What a lovely Antique Market! The furniture was so stunning. So many pieces could envision in just the right places in a home! Sally is a darling person too. She lives in NY! I am in Upstate NY. Cannot wait to see the jewelry online! Wonderful idea! What fascinating trip to Paris! Simon was working hard. When I first saw the wallpaper in the master bedroom was thinking how nice it was then realized there were a few problems and could see you would want to do it over and agree the blue coloring is a nice soft blue and nice for a bedroom. Cannot wait to see it when finished. Do not know how the men stand the looking up and reaching overhead to do all of these things. It is a hard position to hold too long at a time. Never thought I would say this, but that 'baby donkey" was so cute! Do not get me wrong, the White one and even the other two, have their sweet sides, but the baby one sort of got to my heart. Think it was the "ears?" lol The noise I think worried them? Sally certainly does seem to be a very true friend! I could have cried myself with the whole idea of the brooch, the meaning and the whole thought of how she did get to purchase it for you. and certainly, you deserve it and having her as your friend as well! Bless you both and Simon for all he is doing while you ae busy shopping!
Such a wonderful gift from a wonderful friend! Can't wait to see what your master suite will be!!! Oh and thank you; I didn't know what a chevet was/is.
Looking forward to seeing the fabric on the wall! I do like wallpaper and think with at least some rooms with wallpaper is gives so much more artistic expression! But this will be just as nice and truly think much nicer? Cannot wait! My husband my not be glad once I see though!? lol (He is the one who has done the wallpapering.)
Thank you, Carol! We have some very bold wallpaper in some of the rooms (so I agree completely) but it’s also nice to have some more restrained spaces. 🥰🏰💖
They say "variety is the spice of life" lol I never knew about "fabric on walls" my husband knows just what you mean, and he agreed it was a good idea. Now why did he never even think to let me know about this before? lol It will be beautiful am sure, and looking forward to when you are or Simon is able to begin the walls. I know he works too, and so much all the time to do for you both, and it is not easy, am sure.
Is the fabric forgiving once it is on the wall, to cover the imperfections you showed us earlier? This is new to me as we do not often put fabric on the walls in the U.S. I can see where this could be a quicker fix than stripping the wallpaper and then having to repair the walls if the paper removal scarred them. Anxious to see the finished room!
Hello, we will be painting and only using the fabric for curtains and possibly some panels (as yet undecided). In our last chateau all the rooms had fabric walls, but this is a very specialised skill! 🏰💖
So fun to have a girlfriend that you can giggle with. I love you and Simon's love story. You are so cute together. We aren't any where near spring yet, so it's nice to see flowers. 😊
The brooch is stunning. I love that there is just the "slightest hint" of the exposed left breast. What a wonderful gift from a dear friend. I believe that the miniature portrait is painted on Ivory. So be careful if taking it out of France with custom laws on items made of Ivory.
Vivienne, it's so nice to see you successfully on the mend. Your happiness is infectious. With Simon and friends, you'll be in the pink in no time at all... la vie en rose 🌹.
Middle aged minx
Vivian you are looking well, so glad you are on the mend. Simon has been doing a wonderful job getting the cleaning and renovations done. You are truly blessed with family and friends.
Vivienne, please thank Simon for being so wonderful and caring to you during your hospital visits along with your family, your sister, your friends, especially Sally, who came over for the weekend to make sure you were on the mend. Love your exquisite brooch and all the flowers for your garden. Love and hugs, Marjory & Princess Dolly 💝💝
Thank you Marjory and -of course- Princess Dolly! I am very lucky indeed to have such delightful carers. Big hugs! 🥰🏰💖
It's wonderful to see you back on your feet and in your normal effervescent spirits!!
You and Simon enrich the world and I Thank you both!
Sending your family Blessings ❤
Best of all, you are so lucky yo be surrounded by people who care about you ;that is much more precious than any material wealth of any kind.

I agree! Simon might leave the big plasterworks to the professionals, but that wiring is driving me crazy! 😁🏰💖
Just looking in a Paris flea market - what an achievement! Thank you for sharing from Australia.

Every chateau is a love story writ large and on many levels, and yours is no exception. If you'll pardon all those puns.
Agree completely!! No lovely sentiments are too “cheesy” (pun intended) for this channel! 😁😁🏰💖
@@ChateauLove Yep, your cheese of the week has the highest production values EVER.🥰
Hi Vivian & Simon, It's great to have a best friend like Sally to go antiquing and shopping for garden plants. Gardening is so rewarding. Mark & Scott
Charming episode and great job Simon! I agree with you both, painting your walls does gives you a great deal of versatility.
How lovely to hear so much more from Simon. He is often fairly silent in the background. It’s good to know that your recovery is progressing well, Vivienne.

Wow what a friend.
You just get better and better!!!! This was such a sweet video ❤️🥰
The flowers are awesome, love the color choice😍
What a lovely message, Carol. Thank you! 😁🏰💖
Loved the out takes. loved this episode. so lovely to see it evolve
Oooo, I just found this: what a treat ❤.

Your videos are an endless delights. Thank you all the way from Tel-Aviv
Thank you so much. We are delighted you are joining us! 🏰💖
the antiques looked very nice but so looked the prices ;) Grts Yves
Indeed! There are few bargains at the Paris Flea Markets anymore, but what inspiration! 😁🏰💖
The brooch is stunning. I love that there is just the "slightest hint" of the exposed left breast. What a wonderful gift from a dear friend. I believe that the miniature portrait is painted on Ivory. So be careful if taking it out of France with custom laws on items made of Ivory.
Hi Todd, you are absolutely right. Luckily it’s painted on porcelain, but I still might think twice before packing it in a suitcase! 😁🏰💖
