Cube and wobbly windows, that takes me back to 2007 with XGL.
I would rather they forget the fancy effects and just finish the functionality.
Living Hyprland via CachyOS and enjoying it. However, this Wayfire thingy looks good--it can be kinda wild. CachyOS has proven to be a surprisingly competent distro.
That is just compiz for waylan, i am compz user since 2011 on Arch and wayfire is an excellent port, I will switch once is ready
Damn I definitely need to try this out!! Love your channel BTW, sometimes I get a cool things to think about.
Thanks for sharing! Wayfire is interesting for anyone that wants cool stuff in their compositor.
For the rest of us that want the most natural and practical functionality, Niri is there to the rescue ;)
Subscribed once you mentioned CachyOS
Wayfire is my favorite compositor for Wayland. I love having all the options, my only issue currently is that it doesn't save my monitor configuration on reboot. Maybe I'll see if there's an update since the last time I used it 🤔
tq bro for that info
2:35 he actually reviews the desktop if you wanna ask
Awesome Review MAn!! big LIke””!
I think bugs found in wayfire most likely have something to do with cachy os. Wayfire sure has a lot of dependencies so if one dependency has problems on linux distro it will affect wayfire.
Wow! This is something you don't see every day. Linux is amazing. Is it possible to create rules for Windows like in i3wm? For example, opening a specific program in a predefined workspace?
what gtk/qt theme did you use? I like that color scheme
this kind of video is fun.....it really shock me i realise nobody doing video on "darwins for mac" project......other linux youtuber keep on reviewing some random distro all day
Hrm, good tour of wayfire. Of course, it means I no longer have any interest in it. I really love how deeply configurable hyprland is, but just cannot get into the tiling window manager mindset, so I'm looking for something similar to hyprland's approach, but using stacking windows instead. Unfortunately, the hard focus on silly effects makes me suspect that there isn't really a focus on overall usability, so wayfire will only ever be about "look what my wm can do!"
How to install Kali tools on Ubuntu
I just want Gnome's overview expose feature! I want to see all of my workspaces and windows with an app launcher/dock all in the same place like Gnome overview! Even Windows has this ability with [ Super + TAB ] Gnome and Windows are the only DEs that do this! KDE's kwin overview is pathetic and fails completely and compiz expose only shows windows or workspaces and there is no way to arrange windows and workspaces while launching apps all from one area! Please Wayfire devs. Please listen. This could be huge. If you give us Gnome's overview ! We will all switch from Gnome to Wayfire. Please!!!!!!
