My wife and I visit the arts and crafts community every time we come up. What a great area and good people. We bought one of the old very large braided oval rugs to place in our den the last time up, like the ones everyone's grandmothers use to have in their homes back in the day. Got a good price on it, retailed for over $600. and paid $200. for it.
That is awesome!
Thanks for the video I enjoyed it
Karen you are so beautiful, And Mike is handsome...
Love y'all God bless y'all. 🙏👍❤💜
Soooo sweet of you, Mrs C! We love having you as a vital part of our UA-cam family! Blessings! - Karen
When I was a little girl I went into the Cliff Dwellers with my mom, when it was downtown. I recall the wood floor creaking and the little ladies that owned it watched your every move. It was so pretty in there with so many fragile items. My little brothers sat outside with our dad, as they could not" look and not touch"!! Now, I enjoy seeing the ladies works, especially Louse Bales. I love to buy her note cards. Thanks for a beautiful video! You two are very sweet together!
Thank you for sharing Melinda. Those little hands get into everything.
We love the Arts and Crafts community and visit it every time we are in Gatlinburg. My wife loves a little store called Kountry Antics and we never leave there empty handed. Also, love Jim Gray art. We have several of his signed and numbered prints that we love. Thanks for the tour.
Thank you for sharing as we love the area also. We ask about filming at Jim Gray Art and they declined. Our pleasure.
So many beautiful crafts. I saw so much I love. Thanks for sharing!
Hey, Stephanie! You'll have to check it out in person sometime. 🙂

What a lot of talented people you guys have down there. Lots of really neat items.
I hope you guys bought that giant Bigfoot to decorate your front yard. 😁
Haha, Julie! Nope! Big Foot didn't make it home with us and he wouldn't fit in the VW sports wagon! 😀🙂
I want to live in the white house by that creek . Looking forward to visiting Ombys Woodcraft Shop
It's so pretty!
An area that we haven't been to yet...some neat shops! On the list to visit one day. Thanks for the tour!

Great Video! I haven't spend a whole lot of time at the Arts & Crafts community, but I have been to a few of the shops. We actually got married in the area at the Little Log Wedding Chapel.

Karen both of those soups look yummy 🍲
Still haven't tried them but looking forward soon!
Neat shops, looks like you could spend a few hours there exploring. Any shops that have kitty's laying around can not be all that bad. Yep we are cat 😸 people.
Thank you guys for watching! Cat people...

Being a folk artist I deeply appreciate this vid!!!! GREAT JOB!!!
Thanks so much Lars!
We always enjoy the Arts and Craft community a lot of talented people! Thanks for sharing!!
Our pleasure.
Enjoyed the video. When you both visited in previous video you got to talk to owner of Ogle's Broom Shop. The brooms are very beautiful and the owner was very interesting on how his family has made the brooms for years. Thanks
We did Dixie! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.
Every visit to Gatlinburg, we always spend 1-2 days going they the arts community. We love it! Glad you’re spotlighting some of it.
That's awesome! Yes, it's an important part of the culture in that area!
Being Greek, I especially liked the Olive oil shop! Another very nice relaxing video! God Bless Y'all 🤗
Awesome! Thank you!
I wanted to go to the arts and crafts community when we were there the last two times. Haven't made it there yet. But you are the second channel I have seen do a video there and next time I am there I am going!
It’s a really great area to visit. Put it on your list for next time!
Thanks for sharing, I love all the locally made crafts. 🐻
It's neat, isn't it Lori! A great part of the Smokies!
Love this area. I go there everytime I go to Gatlinburg. I've gone before on Sunday and found many of the shops are closed. Thanks so much for sharing.
Thanks for sharing.
We will be to the Artsy Olive in June . My wife will love it 😍
We hope you enjoy the visit.
Great video, enjoyed it.

Thanks so much Deb!
I always enjoy your videos. I have begun to make a list of places for my wife and I to visit when we get back to that part of the country. Keep up the good work.
Thanks so much, James. Hope you all get back soon. Appreciate you watching and commenting.
I remember the cliff dwellers in town
You do? That's very neat! Thanks for sharing!
Good video guys.😊👍❤
Thanks so much Tressa!
Nice video as usual.
Glad you enjoyed it
Otop hanmak beautiful
We ate at The Happy Pine Cone Cafe last year and it is wonderful. Sarah, the owner, was so nice!!! You will have to try eating there next time you are visiting the Arts and Craft Community.
Mary, thanks for letting us know. We are not familiar with this cafe, but it sounds great!
If you like good food try The Gathering Place Restaurant in Greeneville Tennessee it's on the 107 cutoff road they are open on Thursdays and Friday and Saturday they have great food
Thanks for the tip!
Love y'all's channel
Thank you so much!
I would love to see you guys do a review on the Morning mist Cafe and split rail eats that are both in the craft loop area. I think a lot of the restaurants and places to stay that are not on the main strip don't get enough recognition. I would also love to see you guys do a review on the buckhorn inn in Gatlinburg.
Hi Christine! We went by the Morning Mist Cafe this past weekend to do a review and it was closed.
@@FridaysForever aww man that stinks. Maybe you can catch them open sometime soon. I would love to see you guys review Split Rail Eats and the Buckhorn Inn too. Thanks for trying to review the Morning Mist Cafe.
I really enjoyed this! I hope you can do more filming in the Arts and Crafts Community. There was a very nice Native American man that used to have a place there next to the Leather Shop just past Cole Lane where you turn off to go to Honeymoon Hills. He did paintings and wood carvings. He was very interesting to talk to and I bought one of his paintings of a log cabin. The last time we were there we looked for him but he was not there. I would just like to know if he is ok. Have a great weekend Mike and Karen! God Bless.
Very interesting! We will have to check that out at some point. Maybe you could try a search online to see if anything comes up that looks familiar.
@@FridaysForever He just had a storage building filled with wooden sculptures and paintings right beside Gary McCoy's leather shop. I remember his name. David Young Wolf.
Ok, we’ll see if he’s back next time we visit. Thanks!
@@FridaysForever I saw a video of another channel and it looked like there was someone else in his spot. The last time we were there, we asked about him in the leather shop and they said he had been sick. I would just like to know if he passed away.
At the 7:50 mark, your camera shows the postcard of an old restaurant that I remember from my childhood. Hobie's Little Brown Jug. Not many will remember it but it was a popular spot back in the day.
Thank you for sharing Brad.
Is that where Fannie Farkle’s is now
@@dieselwrench3621 I think it may have been a little further down the parkway on the lower end.
@@bradlitchford476 it’s been a long time my memory is not as good as it used to be
I remember when my dad was alive me and him went to a magic tricks shop where a guy also did wood carving. My dad loved doing tricks for others. I remember an elderly couple coming into the shop . I remember my dad and the owners husband and wife were all looking at their magic tricks they all had for sale. The elderly man made his way over to where we were all at. The elderly man acted like he was interested alot. I got tickled the way his wife responded , " we're not buying any junk today ."
Fun memory, Shannon! Glad you have this to remember your father! Thanks for sharing so we could enjoy it too! 🙂
Another enjoyable video! I always wanted to check out the Arts & Crafts loop. Maybe we'll check out a few places there when we're back down next month.
I'm always puzzled when a small business doesn't want youtubers to video in their store. I mean, it's free advertising for them so it makes no sense!
That's our thoughts on videoing too. Guess some businesses feel their stuff is copyright so to speak! Hope you get a chance to visit.
I don’t know if Otto Presley artist in wood is still carving wood mantles but he is a great carver.
We don't know, Chris. Doesn't sound familiar. Thanks for sharing!
We love to vist the art and craft on our next time. Do you know if they shorten hours during during October? Thanks for sharing 😍
We don't think so. Our pleasure.
We leave for Gatlinburg in two days. We have been watching a ton of your videos. Thanks for posting these! I only wish cades cove was open .. :( IF you see this. My wife is looking for the candy store that does the hand pulling of taffy where you can watch. Do you know which one that is and where it's located? Would you by chance know of any close parking spots to it? I am disabled so I use a walker so sadly I'm a slow slow walker. Thanks in advance.
Most of the shops use old machines to pull the taffy. Old Smoky Mtn and one at the Village. Old Smoky Mountain Candy has parking close by.
Fun video! Are there any music stores with music instruments in the Arts and Crafts community? Just wondering?
We are not sure of any Judy so sorry.
I like your taste Karen!
Thank you so much.
Is there more shops other than what you showed?
Yes, Janet. Some shops will not allow us to record.
Looks like y’all are in the Glades Community of Gatlinburg ?
Yes, the community is called Glades!
@@FridaysForever such a nice area of Gatlinburg , if memory serves there’s a craft shop there that makes quilts by hand. Really nice but expensive!
I have a broom it’s hanging on my wall
Far out
