I've an SV 1000 modified,, it's a cracking motorcycle,,goes well with my K6GSXR 1000 ,best of both world's I've ohlins on both ,,forged aluminium wheels,,got most parts of eBay,, good video 👍👍☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️ from northern Ireland
Hi Cecil thanks for the comment, i was planning on doing another video in the SV. But sold it to a friend who has been lusting after it for a last few ride out we had, i will be posting another video on the SV though, but more of a post review i think with the material i did record. With all the things i mentioned in this video i changed on it
Did you remove your damper?. I had the same issue and then it failed its MOT because the tester said there was a steering issue. It was only when I took off the damper that I found it was not functioning at all smoothly. I removed it and it totally transformed the handling. I have not put it back and to be honest I do not think it needs it
Hi Chris, yes I removed the dampener from my SV. And it improved the SV so much in handling & agility to change direction. Been like this now for 3 years
Hey mate, just a quick one about the clip on risers, I’m looking at getting some myself but wondered if they were easy to install or if you had them done at a garage? What sort of price including installation did you get, and is there any interference with the fairing etc or was it all fairly straight forward? Cheers 👍
Hi, the clip-ons i think i bought from a bike website (Italian i think) and fitted them myself. All you had to do was support the bike and remove the top yoke and slide them down
@@MuzzyArtyBiker yes I actually prefer the engine on the Honda and it sounds better too. I honestly wasn't very impressed with the 636 but each to their own I guess. I think my next bike will be the CB1000R black edition 👌😍
Brilliant bikes i have a 2003 SV1000s with only 6k on from new i have owned it for 1.5 years now and i absolutely love it i wanted a big old V twin and i am so glad i bought the SV. Renthall bars make a massive differance to the comfort. first thing i did was the stator magnet fix which is a must do with jb weld fix. The noise with the after market cans is so intoxicating from the big v twin. i also have a yamaha MT10 SP which is a different animal altogether but my SV puts a huge smile on my face. i also upgraded the front fork springs to hyperpro progressive springs and there oil. Also a new Hagon rear shock and it has totally transformed the handling and is a much nicer bike to ride now as i found the stock suspension a wee bit wollowy for my riding style
Thank you for the comment Carvetti. Great to see another owner on YT with a SV1000. I should be able to start a video soon, the snow has started to melt and the days are getting longer. Im currently swapping out the regulator for a Mosfet (from a ZZR1400) there were some issues over winter that could be related to it going faulty. (Kev's Shed video as a guide).

I had a zx636 and was so uncomfortable - ended up trading it in for a brand new CB650R which is so much nicer to ride and still fast enough for me.
I have seen a few CB650R's about my area, looks like a good comfortable seating position. But is the engine as characterful as the kawasaki?
