I got my Bolt for much cheaper than I could have found any Harley at a dealer where I live. It was a year old, brand new model for $2000 less than MSRP. Try to find an 883 for that. The Harley would be on the floor with a few dealer add-ons already pre-installed and probably asking $13,000 for it. Plus, in my opinion, the Yamaha is a better bike. I like it exactly in it's stock form. Don't need to change a thing on it for my liking.
Interesting... I've only sat on these and they don't really feel all that comfortable to me. I might have to find a place to test ride one and see if that changes.
Good looking bike...I'm curious about cruisers never rode or even sat on one. I'm used to hugging my fuel tank with my legs and draping my belly over the tank luv that so I don't think a cruiser would be for me but who knows? Maybe I'd luv it!
Would be a huge mistake to get one of these to be used as a "cruiser" The tiny fuel tank and mid-bike controls will convince you of that! What you do get, is a great little "bobber" which is a real alternative to the sportster! Don't get me wrong, you can, and I often do, spend a full day on the bike, but it really would be a very strange choice if you're planning on doing some proper touring. The term "horses for courses" would sum it up the best! 👍
A butt shaped seat... what a concept! lol I'm a 2014 Bolt owner - Raven. I love mine. I did elect to install a sports shield after getting hit by a couple of small rocks... luckily I was wearing a full faced helmet then - have switched over to a half shell since I put the shield in place. Also installed engine guards and some pegs for the highway. Very easy to ride.
Would you consider this a good buy? I recently just got rid of my 07 R6 and I'm looking to get a cruiser. I live in the Adirondacks and I am having a tough time figuring out what to get. I saw this compared to an 883 and this flat out beat it 3 times straight. Does the Bolt accelerate fast after 60? or does it seem to putput after a certain MPH? I would potentially be doing highway riding. So just wondering what you think? THANK YOU
Yeah I would choose this over the 883 every time. More power throughout the power band and has some at highway speeds. It will definitely taper off after a certain speed like most cruisers. They are geared and powered for torque at low speeds.
+archinuk417 thanks man! I'm looking for the r-spec model because I'm not too fond of the c spec model! Looks smooth and love the exhausts on the bikes I've been seeing on UA-cam
archinuk417 Here's what I would like to put on it, the V&H Twin Slash exhaust, and VO2 air filter. Makes it look so much better IMO. products.vanceandhines.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/48531_3.jpg
+Paradigm Storytime A 2 into 1 exhaust helps these V Twins run so much better. You get a lot more bottom end torque, plus good mid range. Of course it's all a matter of taste, and what you as an owner would like to have on one. I have run both types on all of my V Twin bikes, and I like the 2 into 1 systems. Plus, they aren't annoyingly loud like some 2 into 2 systems are.
RakinBill The bolt doesn't have any 2-2 systems. And a lot of aftermarket systems for cruisers, have a crossover chamber so it looks like a 2-2 but performs like a 2-1
I've had my Bolt for a couple months and I absolutely love it. If you are wanting a simple, clean bobber this bike does the job.
+Mikey L. The bike that most resembles this one IMO is the Harley Iron 883, but it's a Harley so it's expensive.
+archinuk417 Actually the MSRP for this is about $200 more than the Iron.
Paradigm Storytime I was making an ill-informed joke about Harleys... It wasn't factual ;)

Mikey L. This is true... Harley will usually sell their bikes with dealer add ons that increase the price to absurd prices.
I have the same bike and I have to say that it runs great
NORTH COUNTY SD LETS GO!!!!
I’m interested in this bike but worried because I’m 6,5. Is this bike good for taller riders?
Interesting... I've only sat on these and they don't really feel all that comfortable to me. I might have to find a place to test ride one and see if that changes.
+Freespiritphil The seat itself isn't bad but the ergonomics are tougher...
Which did you like better the Bolt or the Harley Forty Eight
I liked the power of the Bolt but the Harley feels more like a classic cruiser. It depends on what you want.
Good looking bike...I'm curious about cruisers never rode or even sat on one. I'm used to hugging my fuel tank with my legs and draping my belly over the tank luv that so I don't think a cruiser would be for me but who knows? Maybe I'd luv it!
I Really Like the Bike, but I hate the Gauge. It would be better if had something like the XSR900 Gauge! And that is enough of a Deal Breaker for me!
Thelby1 and my old lady says I'm picky about shit Lololololol! To each his own.
Sounded good &
Looked like a comfortable cruiser
:)
Good R/R
+Dracati Ducati Thanks!
Another nice review, thanks. I think the look of that speedo alone would put me off buying.
Feels like a real heavy bike?!?! Wth? Ummm Ya, no.
Do you think the seat of the R-Spec is a lot better than the stock one? Thanks.
Is this bike riding 70mph comfortable

at least yamaha dealers are a dime a dozen ..try saying that about the limited HD network. sounds easier to live with.
thanks for making this vid. keep it up

It's a shame you don't get more with the R spec, like a exhaust or mild cam, different map ..
2015 bolt doesnt have gear indicator?
Any dead wobble as people said?
what do you guys think about breaks thanks
sounds like you were talking about my vegas 8 ball
+1.21 Jiggawatz The bike I rode next is closer to your Victory ;)

I prefer the C-spec but nice!
Cool Vid
and it's pretty darn cheap, too.
I love everything about my Bolt except the mirrors.
Yeah, I find my shoulders eat up about 1/2 of the image in the mirrors...
it can do many things, lmao
"Has a lot of power" lol no it doesnt. Only has 49 horsepower.
How bout torque? Got an amateur over here
I think that exhaust looks so ugly. Though I'm not really fan of 2-1 exhausts anyway. However the V&H twin slash for this looks amazing.
I agree. The stock exhaust is ugly.

Dude.. So lucky for getting all these tests rides... I love that bike!
#nextgenmotovlogg #teamyamaha
+StreetRookieFZ It's a fun and good looking bike for sure.
archinuk417 it looks so sweet
It's a great bike!
do you think this would make a good first bike?
I just came from a Yamaha dealer yesterday. He said a novice rider could get on this and ride safely.
wot..u kidding..nearly threw this 40 years ridin guy in 2013
+Escobar JP thanks. I checked one out today I like them, not really liking how the air filter sits though.
Slimphattz MrJamdown hell yes. It sure would.
Yamaha had to think long and hard before they put that POS speedometer on this bike .But i cant even guess as to what they were thinking .
***** It looks fine , You just cant read it half the time .
This or Sportster 883?
nice minibike....
joseph b nice face....
