David Allan Coe is the Rhinestone Cowboy. The name of his first country album was "The Mysterious Rhinestone Cowboy". A year later Glen Campbell makes this huge hit called "Rhinestone Cowboy". That's why he says "Glenn Campbell knows I've always been the Rhinestone Cowboy".
country music establishment is going to wait till he is gone(born in '39) before they give him his dues. he IS classic country right up there with the rest that got all the credit. criminally underappreciated.
Hi guys. You should check out some Steve Earle. Maybe Copperhead Road or Guitar Town or The Week of Living Dangerously. Great stuff. Oh and I think Camilla might have been thinking of Tim Allen (voice of Buzz).
Dude D.A.C. is the true Outlaw review the ride and if that ain't country and the album he did with PANTERA minus Phil. REBEL MEETS REBEL. Nothing to lose has DIMEBAG and D.A.C. on vocals. Support your local black and white. OUTLAWS!!!

That's why he says "Glenn Campbell knows I've always been the Rhinestone Cowboy".
And Glen Campbell had a #1 hit with a little song called RHINESTONE COWBOY.

David is a great song writer most of the hit songs that came out in the 70's country where penned by him and others sang them to fame
Where he changes his voice, the 1st change is a tribute to Earnest Tubb, the 2nd change when he softened his voice is a tribute to Bill Anderson
Wow! I have been a DAC fan for decades but I never heard this version and these alternate lyrics. Very cool!
David Allen Coke was also known as the Mysterious Rhinestone Cowboy. Great song writer and singer. Check out his song If That ain’t Country.
Yes sir love him
And the part where he sings Johnny Cash got him out of prison is true. Johnny got a lot of other country stars to sign a petition to get him out.
Do you know what the "long before Rodri? stole that goat" part means?
@@adamprice3466 Johnny Rodriguez was a Mexican singer I think there’s a story of him stealing a goat or something
In this song he imitates Ernest Tubb (Waltz across Texas) Whispering Bill Anderson and Merle Haggard on the chorus part

Met DAC in a maximum security prison in Kentucky. He was visiting a old biker. A club brother from his Outlaw club days.
Holy shit, that's awesome
David and Hank JR both do that. It drives me nuts
I have the vinyl!! The same one i bought in my youth.

Jimmy Buffett doesn't live in Key West anymore...
He's no longer on the planet.
Just look for my name on a jukebox if your tired of being alone. Put in a dime and I'll take the time. To sing you a sad country song
Did I read somewhere, I honestly don’t know, did he teach himself the guitar in prison?
Man was on death row. He killed an inmate while he was locked up. He belongs in the H.O.F before he dies. Give him that honor before he goes I say.
