I am a third generation roofer. I’ve done work in Michigan, Ohio and California. I really enjoy your videos. I like your attention to detail. Also like the fact that you are concerned about quality materials. The pipe boots are great.
Thanks for watching! We are always looking to improve our techniques. Watching people in the trades in oddly satisfying for me. Aside from the time we put into these videos, I would spend a lot of my personal time watching other people roof on youtube. I'm always curious to see how other people do it, and continue to be open and take bits and peices of there installation techniques. Thanks again for watching, we really appreciate it!
@@shingletownroofing what do you think of Atlas pinnacle shingles? I put them on the job and really like them. They are a true 42 inch shingle. So it’s really nice when you cut 6 inch racks for your rake edges. Also, I like the placement of the seal strip.
@@jimoesterwind5056 Personally, Ive never used Atlas shingles. I don't know of any suppliers that keep stock of them up here. Our main manufactures are CertainTeed, GAF, Malarkey, IKO, Owens Corning (Harder to find). We personally use CertainTeed & Malarkey. We used GAF for many many years but moved away last year because of quality control issues. CertainTeed has been a big step up in terms of quality.
Watched your little youtuber snap, then 1 minute later you read out my comment on the video. The quality and seamlessness of that transition was epic. Keep it up your becoming one of my favorite youtubers!
Thank you man! I truly mean that! I spend a lot of my nights editing them after a days work, hopfully when I'm 40, I'll look back at them all with a smile. Were going to keep posting!
My dad hates earwigs to he was camping when he was younger and one crawled into his ear and chewed his eardrum away. He has had over 10 surgeries to remove some of his skull and still has issues to this day.
Winter can be really tough for guys who work in these types of the trades. A lot of companys around here will switch to snow removal, though its very weather dependant, and can't be a garenteed income every winter (last year was very mild here). We try to push our services as far into the winter months as possible. (I'm not a fan of roofing in the winter, but the new housing demand is still there). We just started taking on Christmas lights as a new service last year, and that can keep us with work during december (gutter cleaning is also a lot more popular as we approach December). During the worst of winter (February-March) We are usually working on the back end of the company in full swing. Improving our website design, re-working our branding and making sure everything is continuing to improve for our next season ahead. Years in the past, we have just found temporary odd jobs to cover our family's bills for the worst of winter!
Typically we wouldnt use ice & water on a shed project (unless it has eavestrough installed). In this case, we were filming a seperate video and this project was a nice size for demonstration.
