Found this gem on an 80s new wave compilation album called Exposed II showcasing new and upcoming artists like the Hitmen. Infectious tempo and dynamic urgency. The double album also showcased Harlequin, OMD, Tommy Tutone, Karla Devito, The Psychadelic Furs, and many other new wave artists! I lost this album in a flood then got it as a birthday gift 30 years later!!!

I remember when this rad song video was being played on MTV in 1982. I'd love to hear The Weeknd do a cover of this.

The song is based in part on the Alfred Hitchcock film "Psycho" where the real Bates Motel is and yes..." you can check in but you can't check out." Brilliant and clever Hitman song. Joni Mitchell also based one of her songs on a motion picture: "The Night of the Iguana," on her last studio lp 2007's "Shine."

I love this song & the 80's slick bass line- I bought the LP back in 1981 when CBS was starting to handle Euro-wave

you can even hear the pop of the record needle on the vinyl... this just reminds me of some the local "power pop"/"new rock" typical of many WV bands in the late 70's/early 80's that weren't just doing the same old Southern Rock thing. For sure, people making their own music takes a lot more talent than doing a cover... and without endless dubs & corrections modern productions have

West Virginia, huh? You possibly could have heard this on WTCS in Fairmont because we played this thing ALL the time!

Britt Childress I was working in a record store. Nobody knew who the band was, but they bought it whenever I put it on the turntable. Really good album.
