I had a best friend who I've known my whole life. He was the biggest fan of Kingdom Hearts I've ever known and he was always obsessed with following any news regarding KH3. He passed away 2 years ago, just a week before Christmas. Every Monday since his birthday, I've been visiting his grave to say a prayer for him, and try to talk about anything I could think of for as long as I could because I know he's still with us in spirit. I'm planning to pre-order this game as soon as it's available and will devote as much time as I can to completing it 100% to his memory, and I will be sure to tell him every last detail about what I experienced every following Monday from release. On the night before December 16th, 2016, my friend John commited suicide for apparently several reasons I didn't realize until after his death. Some of these reasons that convinced him to do what he did included the fact that both his parents passed away, his sister ended up being a drug addict, he was still unable to move out of the house which made him think he was a failure of a man despite the fact that he had a pretty steady job, and he didn't know how to handle the fact that he was gay which was the biggest thing I was unaware of. He just couldn't take it anymore, and what's worse is that he attempted suicide in the past which I was a fool to overlook. I want to thank you all very much for all your sympathy, I'm very glad to see this whole community is full of such kind and caring people. I only wish he was here to see how many people cared about him, especially perfect strangers. Maybe it could have helped him think twice about his troubles.

It is literally done in the style of each of the worlds the various characters are from. There is no "Japanese Anime-Style" for those places. The only "Japanese Anime-Style" characters in the series are Series specific (Sora/Riku/Kairi/OrgXIII).

How is it this story makes you feel things nothing else can? It takes me to a place I don’t understand yet I crave the feeling it brings. There’s a sense of magic or Idk something almost otherworldly. This story line shaped my life. I started playing this when I was 13. I’m 24 now. But the feeling in my heart is as magical as it was the day I watched the very first opening cutscene of the first KH. I pray I never lose this sense of magic no matter how old I get.

We are used to seeing him fighting himself at this point. Although to be frank, the fact he is even still in there after; getting possessed, memory wiped, split in half, having those halves killed, reforming as Sith grandpa...the dudes strength would probably be enough to crack Kingdom Hearts itself in half with one swing. No wonder Xehanort wanted to possess him, every time he fights back it just shows how strong of heart and body he really is. Much to Xehanort's dismay, i am sure. Though it makes it certain Terra's salvation could be on the table.
Kingdom Hearts was my first ever video game, it was, it is my obsession. I always get funny looks when people ask my my favorite video games... this is my childhood. My 7 year old self needs to finish the story.
That interaction between the two really demonstrates how great of a character Sora is. Sora doesn't hesitate at all to tell Roxas he deserves to exist as much as him, and when Roxas gives him those memories Sora's first instinct is to get angrier at the organization.

There's a bit of a translation error in the subtitles at the start of the trailer. After Xehanort has called "Checkmate", what Eraqus replies actually *isn't* "My move, isn't it?", what he's saying is actually "Mada owatte nai, yo." which translates to "It's not over yet, you know.", indicating that it actually *isn't* checkmate for him quite yet in their game of chess. As someone who loves chess, I can definitely say I've both made the mistake of calling a checkmate too early, as well as corrected a few opponents that it's actually not checkmate quite yet :)
Sesshoumaruflash it means the same thing tho, I think the subtitle are to represent what the final products script is going to follow in English, I could be wrong though, and eraqus could very well say “it’s not over yet, you know?” Even in the English version, but I don’t think it’s an error I think it’s subtitles OF the English version.
Superslash Even if it is, they should really use the proper subtitles for their trailers to make a proper translation. That way, in the case you're right, people can know that what is said in the Japanese version and the English version, is different from each other.

Totally with you Alexandra, KH is one of the big reasons I got into RPGs, anime, and Japanese culture to begin with. The fact that after 13 FREAKING YEARS we are FINALLY getting the 3rd numbered installment is just unbelievable. And yes, I played the spinoffs. They ranged from okay to bad.

I gauge the likelihood that Roxas will be playable this time at less than 20%. I'm really hoping Kairi will be, though. She missed every other opportunity she had to use her Keyblade to unlock the door and get out of the kitchen.

Axel saw her as a kairi replica too (after they became friends). Everyone else saw her as a hooded girl. Xemnas and Xigbar sometimes saw her as Ven but most of the time as just a hooded girl.
I feel like just seeing him hold Oblivion alone was clue enough he still had two Keyblades. When has he ever wielded one without the other minus his fight with Riku in 358/2 Days?
I screamed at Old Xehanort because I was honestly getting worried that he wasn't going to appear in the game after all the buildup in Dream Drop Distance (His Japanese and English VAs died a while ago and people were speculating they might phase him out in favor of Young Xehanort rather than recast).
considering that i started the series with Roxas (started with 358/2) he is my favorite character in the series. the fact that he appears, and doesn't seem like just a spirit to keep Sora focused, made me cheer
The chess scene is really scary, foreshadowing and dark... There is only piece of light (sora) surrounded by (probably) 13 darkness pieces. And vanitas saying that sora will be broken by battle after battle. I feel like Sora is going to face hell.
If you pay attention to the shapes of the pieces, you can actually figure out who they are. (Gear for Vanitas, the face of Ansem's Guardian, the hourglass for Luxord or Young Xehanort, etc)
Leonard Nimoy, who voiced Xehanort in Birth by Sleep and Dream Drop Distance, passed away years ago, so we’ll have to wait and see who the new English voice actor will be
I understand that everyone is complaining about the release date but please understand that if you truly are a fan of kingdom hearts, you will enjoy this game because of all the things that are gonna happen and you will thank them for taking their time because I feel like this is truly going to be a master piece 🙂
It was really worth the wait. I completed Toy Box and Kingdom of Corona, and I feel my brother (R.I.P.) was inside my soul while playing this game. I love it to pieces! Will complete the story at least ten times!!!

It's alluding to that heavily especially because the scene where we see him is in the Keyblade Graveyard. Larxene just said they got everyone they needed so Roxas will not be a darkness. Pretty sure all 13 darknesses have been confirmed. Terranort is the only one we haven't seen in an organization coat though so we'll see.
Strictly speaking he's talking about Hiro's brother given he says Hiro's name when he says "you" in japanese (Hiro tachi) but there may indeed be a parallel to Roxas given he sees the twilight gang when he says it. (Or at the very least the Big Hero 6 gang reminds him of the twilight gang)

In japanese all he says is "This bond is your strength" obviously it's been stretched to the english "And when you're not strong enough, he'll make up the difference" to match the lip sync but yeah, it definitely reminds him of the gang (since one of them is missing but the bond is still there)

Big Hero 6 is itself greatly inspired by Japanese anime (especially mecha anime). So it fits with Kingdom Hearts' Japanese-Disney style.

How is it this story makes you feel things nothing else can? It takes me to a place I don’t understand yet I crave the feeling it brings. There’s a sense of magic or Idk something almost otherworldly. This story line shaped my life. I started playing this when I was 13. I’m 24 now. But the feeling in my heart is as magical as it was the day I watched the very first opening cutscene of the first KH. I pray I never lose this sense of magic no matter how old I get.

Although to be frank, the fact he is even still in there after; getting possessed, memory wiped, split in half, having those halves killed, reforming as Sith grandpa...the dudes strength would probably be enough to crack Kingdom Hearts itself in half with one swing. No wonder Xehanort wanted to possess him, every time he fights back it just shows how strong of heart and body he really is. Much to Xehanort's dismay, i am sure. There's a bit of a translation error in the subtitles at the start of the trailer. After Xehanort has called "Checkmate", what Eraqus replies actually *isn't* "My move, isn't it?", what he's saying is actually "Mada owatte nai, yo." which translates to "It's not over yet, you know.", indicating that it actually *isn't* checkmate for him quite yet in their game of chess. As someone who loves chess, I can definitely say I've both made the mistake of calling a checkmate too early, as well as corrected a few opponents that it's actually not checkmate quite yet :)

The chess scene is really scary, foreshadowing and dark... There is only piece of light (sora) surrounded by (probably) 13 darkness pieces. And vanitas saying that sora will be broken by battle after battle. I feel like Sora is going to face hell.
If you pay attention to the shapes of the pieces, you can actually figure out who they are. (Gear for Vanitas, the face of Ansem's Guardian, the hourglass for Luxord or Young Xehanort, etc)

I understand that everyone is complaining about the release date but please understand that if you truly are a fan of kingdom hearts, you will enjoy this game because of all the things that are gonna happen and you will thank them for taking their time because I feel like this is truly going to be a master piece 🙂
It was really worth the wait. I completed Toy Box and Kingdom of Corona, and I feel my brother (R.I.P.) was inside my soul while playing this game. I love it to pieces! Will complete the story at least ten times!!!

People check out the box art its a beautiful masterpiece. Word cannot explain it. This game in every way is the greatest masterpiece in the franchise
I think the story prevents it from being an actual masterpiece, but it's a good game.

It's alluding to that heavily especially because the scene where we see him is in the Keyblade Graveyard. Larxene just said they got everyone they needed so Roxas will not be a darkness. Pretty sure all 13 darknesses have been confirmed. Terranort is the only one we haven't seen in an organization coat though so we'll see.
Strictly speaking he's talking about Hiro's brother given he says Hiro's name when he says "you" in japanese (Hiro tachi) but there may indeed be a parallel to Roxas given he sees the twilight gang when he says it. (Or at the very least the Big Hero 6 gang reminds him of the twilight gang)

Lédashdain Actually. After giving it a second listen, the japanese line is completely different. In japanese all he says is "This bond is your strength" obviously it's been stretched to the english "And when you're not strong enough, he'll make up the difference" to match the lip sync but yeah, it definitely reminds him of the gang (since one of them is missing but the bond is still there)
