      @g2theb584 I just basically repowered/overhauled my 12 year old focus for less than a fourth of the cost to replace the whole vehicle with a similar equiped Mazda 3 hatchback Premium. (I have a manual transmission is the reason why it cost Soo much more). The only thing that need replacement is the windshield, hood and bumper needs work but that not happening until construction is done near me.

      Probably a major factor is that people rarely pay in full or even completely payoff their car loans. All many people look at is what the monthly car payment is. Reminds me of student loans and how that’s caused tuition rates to skyrocket. Customers will see “oh it’s only an extra $20/month, what’s the big deal?” This, this is why it’s a big deal l, companies will take full advantage of you when they know it’s not your money you’re spending to drive that car off the lot.

      I bought my 2020 Limited Fully Loaded in November 2020 for 63k, 2021 was when the car market went insane. The EXACT same optioned truck today is 87k. A 38% increase in 3 years is absolutely stupid.

      I bought a 2018 1500 ltz 4x4 brand new, it was under $50k. Its got a 6.2l double cab regular bed. Just rolled 100k miles. Only things the truck doesn't have is a sun roof and adaptive cruise. Pretty much fully loaded.

      @@ThreeDogsTwoCatsAndAWife yes sir- in the lovely state of CT your local town charges personal property tax on anything with a registration/plate on it. much like your house taxes its annual and based on 70% of its value. This tax year 2 Harleys and 1 jeep grand Cherokee and 1 ram 1500 (both 10 years old) was $1500....for nothing.

      yep. but now a days the radio is integral to the electronics of the vehicle. So you gotta have one.
      I have an older 04 chevy works truck. Plain as you can get and even it has ac, ps, pb, am-fm radio. But what it doesn't have is electric windows. I have to crank them up and down. lol

      Sure, blame the dealerships that have absolutely nothing to do with setting MSRP. On a truck like this a dealership probably makes around $1500. That’s for storing it, cleaning it, gassing it, inspecting it… Time is worth something to everybody.

      Whenever I see dealerships advertising 5, 10, or 15 thousand off on vehicles, I can’t help but think if you can knock 15 thousand off a vehicle and still make a profit, then how much are they really ripping people off if they didn’t drop the price.

      @@chadshort4866 Educate yourself before you make those assumptions. When those deals are active the manufacturer is usually re-invoicing the vehicle to the dealer. This is common is all kinds of retail, not just automotive.

      32k for an 18 XLT 2.7l 4wd with leather wheel, heated seats, and the mid sized displays in the cluster and dash. bought it with 19k miles, I'm at 64k now.
      It's got cloth seats, column shift, and it's the extended cab with the 1/2 doors for the rear.
      Only thing I wish it had was a rear locker.

    I use to say back in The early 2000's that with the price of vehicles going up it's only a matter of time before it will be 50000 for a base model truck, now I think that these automakers will have a base model truck starting At around 70000 and they will say it's affordable!! 57 Grand for a base model 1/2 truck? That's completely stupid when you can Ford f250 XLT fx4 truck at 57000 or get a Chevy Silverado 2500hd z71 for about 56310! Both with the gas V8!! So why would I buy a base model truck when I can get a decently equipped 3/4 ton truck for the same price??? I looked at ram trucks and the mid grade ram2500 is around 70000(no gas V8 option !) If it's me I would go shopping around for something else!

    Just bought a 2022 40k mile laramie with leather interior fully loaded cooled seats and trailer brakes the whole nine yards in hydro blue and the nice wheels for 29k with a 5.7 hemi & etorque. That price is rediculous considering it’s significantly less truck and less engine.

    I worked with a guy that said back when he was a kid in 1970 his dad was a mechanic and he bought a brand new truck and he scratched the truck. His dad was pissed and yelled at him and said this truck cost me a whole months wage don’t you wreck it

    There are a lot of pluses to this truck. 1) better ride because the easy to clean steel wheels, ride comfort from 18in wheels mean more sidewall for absorption. Tough basic seats, you don't need all that luxury garbage to just tack on price. Less things to go wrong. Price is just stupid maybe $31k.

    This is why after so many years of driving/buying/owning fullsize trucks I bought a ridgeline - its all the truck i need - i just need a bed to carry the dirty stuff i don't want to be inside - i get great gas mileage and got an awesome deal on a RTL - $45k sticker - but , $38,7k selling price.

    Have you not noticed what they have done since 2016 or so they took the same hellcat from back then it was what 60 something grand and turn it into $100,000 and didn’t change nothing shafting everybody left and right I guess some people like the shaft

    I remember when a loaded up top trim tundra came with cruise control, bed liner, sun roof, heated/ventilated seats, automatic climate control, all leather seats, integrated climate control, fancy dashboard with digital display, and etc. for 56 k...... now a basic work truck with none of that is more expensive

    Bought a fully loaded brand new 2018 High Country for 45K in 2019. Still have it with only 50K miles on it. Hope I never have to replace it, I wont be able to afford it.

    You get adaptive cruise control because theyre now required to put automatic collision avoidance braking into new vehicles, meaning its already required to have the sensors that also make adaptive cruise possible. So they include it as standard at no extra cost to themselves to try to justify charging too much for the truck.

    Adaptive cruise control is interesting because it came standard in my $20k corolla, but if you want it in a Porsche 911 you have to pay $20k extra.
