Good stuff!! I love bass fishin! Did local tourneys myself for years! Saw one group get in trouble for cheating once. They had two seperate livewells. One was apparently hidden and covered with towels to elliminate noise the fish make splashing in the livewell. They were thrown out and barred from local tournaments forever. Cheaters never prosper. Fish on! God bless Ray Scott and all the old timers of bassmasters!!
The rules have been expanded many times over the years, because of one, or maybe two individuals, bent the rules so much, they had to change them. Anglers were caught with caged fish, weighted fish, and location “purchasing”… Some of the most famous have done it……
Loved Ray Scott and The Bass Masters! Especially the Original Bass Master Professionals, Martin, Wilson, Dance, Houston etc my Favorite and still is Rick Clunn and maybe the most knowledgeable professional fisherman ever? The Linder Brothers a close second? Back when the Tour was pure! Your fishing winnings allowed you to enter the next tournament! Wasn't all sponsored driven and only a 150 HP Motor Max! Plan your day and execute it accordingly! Not running 60 miles in less than an hour crap! That's not fishing! That's boat racing! CMTFU! Ray Scott was The Man!
Ray would have a field day with the Elites today. Half the field would be DQ’d from buying information and waypoints !! The lack of integrity and respect for the game is ridiculous today.
@theregoesone3225 this is a story I heard some of it I can attest to. That the week before goodtimes bass club fished the upper bay and went out of elkneck state park .They released all their fish there!!!! I was fishing in good times after this happened was told that a member of the club told Cook that and guess where he fished!!!!!
@@Edward-ci8yl wow!!!!! After I read your post I googled it and found a bass article from 8 years ago and it said he was getting 5 times as many bites in the tournament as the other anglers. Club tourney release area makes sense. I always knew him as being so well liked and smart. Wild.
Of course it was a measuring board... tournament anglers always forget to bring their keeper board especially in the classic. Its not like those things stay in the boat at all times when you fish tournaments every week. This one just happened to be wet, and kept in the livewell. 🙄
How do you guys think Ray Scott would feel about FFS and competition today........? I heard stories Ray would hold 4-pound test tournaments at his home just to make it more difficult for everyone.
Yeah he even sold special spinning reels with oversized spools to handle the 4lb test without causing excessive line twist and to fit a larger drag. He was really pushing it and into it in the later years.
I have caught a 6 while panfishing..was a blast. But...im bothered when I break off a big one knowing it has a crank or jerk hanging out its mouth an possibly a foot of line. Very likely to get caught on something an expire.. 💩 feeling it gives me.
Not sporting ? You still have to catch them...and if it was that effective anglers would be cleaning our lakes out. They're not doing that.@@kenneth9874
Ignorance is bliss!! I guess throwing at schooling fish is cheating also. However and whatever you use to see fish that's available to everyone makes no difference as you have to make the fish bite to be able to catch them
The world would be better off with more people like Ray Scott in charge.
Bassmaster needs to stick to the way Ray Scott was about cheating. Absolutely no excuse.
This is straight-up gold. I could watch this all day. ❤

Very good video. Thanks for sharing. They were great times, and I am glad I got to fish tournaments then. Thanks, Ray Scott, for the memories.
I love Hank Parker he's legendary❤❤❤❤
I wish the sport and world was still like this today
Love these videos!

Zero Tolerance, lose the GREY AREAS... 🍺🎣
Good stuff right there gentlemen
Now, it's ok to fish more than one tournament without a license. It's fallen a long way.
wish our gov was this honest
The legend of bass fishing ❤❤

I hate that I don't believe FLW is as serious as Ray Scott about cheating or as least as up front about it.
good stuff B.A.S.S. !!
Keeping a "wooden" measuring board inside of the full live well? Bizarre at best.
Those were the days!
Anyone else click on this video thinking KVD was accused because of his picture on the thumbnail?
That’s not KVD in the thumbnail, it’s Bobby Murray. Who is in the video.
Def not KVD lol
Thanks for clearing that up. It sure looks like KVD! Thank goodness. KVD looks as honest as they come.
I once ran into a lawyer, who sweared he would put Ray behind bars for running a nonprofit organization and profiting
That lawyer is an idiot, because that isn’t what “Non-Profit” means.
Also, lawyers can’t file charges.
Tell that lawyer to look into churches first before he looks at a fishing organization…
Ask about Ken Cook on the upper Chesapeake Bay bass will never talk about!!!!!!!!
What is this story???

What he did was cheating no outside help
This gonna be fun
I thought this was about Luke Clausen

Live scope is cheating.
Something available to everyone is not cheating.
@@jerrylanglois7892it's definitely not sporting.

In todays world….every boat should have a pole cam on the back along with gps tracking….
They do…
I don’t know what is the more ridiculous “sport”. Fishing competitions or hockey.
Because your not a fisherman, if you were you would never make that statement
@@TheCruzcruz You couldn’t be more wrong. I fish A LOT.
Trolling is illegal in B.A.S.S tournaments. Run along Dork. 😃😀 #bassmaster

clickbait, shame on you................
It is a Classic Champ who was accused of cheating. 🤷🏼♂️
