From Little Rock served 28 years military and just retired looking forward to more time bass fishing. I wish I could be in that era with those dudes. Been in many clubs serving all over the nation and love the organization.

The Classics that were held on the James River were the pinnacle of bass fishing.

I love this series, I always remember Bill Dance and Jimmy Houston , Hank Parker TV shows but never actually realized the success they had tournament fishing. It's great to learn how BASS actually all started out. 1 man and a dream.

I remember waking up early on weekends to watch Hank Parker, Jimmy Houston, Bill Dance and Roland Martin on TV. I followed the tournaments as much as I could in the early days of the internet but as I became an adult and different responsibilities take over my time I faded from the sport. Over the last 5 years or so I’ve gotten back into the sport and UA-cam has replaced those great old shows but I still enjoy watching old classics to see those legends again.

70's thru 90's was the greatest era of bass fishing!! New tech has seriously reduced the skill gap level, especially FFS. Some have 7 monitors on their boat:(.

Thank you so much, B.A.S.S. for airing this series, and I mean no disrespect for a few of these minor corrections: 19:51 the date should be Aug. 10. 26:57 Tommy, the Classic was never held in Roanoke. 32:37 Tommy is incorrect saying at the time Hank retired, he was the only angler to ever have won both the Angler-of-the-Year title and the Classic. Both Larry Nixon and Rick Clunn had also done it, although Hank was the FIRST to do it (May 27, 1983). Towards the end, Hank is meaning the first Classic he fished AND won. (1979)

I'm glad it wouldn't be left up to me to decide exactly who would be the 4 men on the Bassmaster Mt. Rushmore......
    How would you possibly decide?
Clunn, Martin, Nixon, Dance, Houston, Klein, Hibdon, VanDam, Brauer, Parker, Cook.....

14:18 those first days were soo much easier, it didnt take much money to fish competitively, nowadays you need FFS, and 40,000+ boat, all the tackle. ITs Sooo much more difficult nowadays

It would be extremely hard to go threw the Federation nowadays money wise!! Different time different world!! Tournament fee’s travel expenses Ect are more expensive than ever and with the electronics platform you need I don’t think it can be done!!

I'd love to see an elite team event for like a Million dollars or something big..Just thinking about it gets me excited! I also would like to see more major tournaments or a playoff system that leads to something big. I want a deal where the guys are going to try and win more than what they're already getting from their sponsors that week.. I know the elite events are big and the trophy is nice and blue but we just don't see the real heartbreak over the cash anymore which is a big missing piece to all this in my opinion. I want to see guys in tears on the ground because they just lost a generational wealth type of Bass and we just don't see that. The $ isn't event mentioned anymore by the guys and not because it's a big # like other sports. I will continue to push for more $ for these Pros because that equals better entertainment and experience for me so it's a win win! ♥️🐟🤟

You know the company Berkeley just knocks off everyone else's baits even the Japanese market baits. Hank Parker pretty much built that company, then they got rid of him here recently. Sleazy ass company, a few reasons why I don't support them anymore.
