iv been to a kid rock concert back in 06, I was only 11 back then! and to say that he was an inspiration for me as I grew older is an understatement, me and my mom bonded over his music, now I'm 28 and I see and understand his lyrics and all the life issues he had to go trough, its hard to be a young man in a strange world with the weight of all the people on your shoulder....
As a hair/heavy metal guitarist I was never truly a fan of rap (til recently, Kid, Tom, Adam ect..) but as a favor to a buddy I went to a Kid Rock concert (seen him 3 times since) honestly and truly if you ever get the chance GO see Kid he never fails to impress and put on an incredible performance.
The acoustic guitar that Kid had is called a Dobro, instead of the regular hole they put a piece of tin with slots cut in it which gives the guitar that weepy sound, they are used a lot in Country and Blues. I'm sure I left a lot out, but I am only vaguely informed on them myself so there's a very general description of it ...
