Kind of fun to compare with Megane E-Tech 60 kWh in summer test 16°C. The average speed in this case was 126.2 km/h (C. Born: 121.4), range 274.2 km (C. Born: 294.4), avg. consumption 217 Wh/km (C. Born: 239)

Super pleasant camera angles and filming… I’m a little worried for your cornering speed at some places, though 😅 Love the music by the way… PS: At the end of the video you are saying range was 249 km, but I trust your calculator that showed 294 😉

Thanks for the test and your dedication to bringing useful info to the community, I have this car, but with the 20” wheels, which I guess will lower the range a small touch, good to see a range closer to 300km in fairly cold temperatures and at that speed, gives me a good figure to base some future trips on. Ps, absolutely loving the Born, I even love the controls and the infotainment….have you ever heard that from anybody else!

Because you had to go faster than 130 km/h for longer time the average consumption was higher than it would have been I think

Should have done high speed test only on Sunday without any truck? Still thanks for testing though.

Just beaten the official range on the Enyaq - mixed country, town and motorway driving, temps 8C to 12C - went 340 miles (iV80 Sportline, WLPT 330, I was averaging 5.2 miles/kWh - with the next gen cars with better efficiency it could get exciting for normal use - all I did was cut the heating and AC off, and put it in a lift and coast/minimal retardation mode - not even done the tyre pressures yet. Of course... doing 90 MPH here is not legal so I am slower than you - the average speed with traffic jams here meant I was doing about 50kph average, and I like my temp lower at 18C than for you I think.

Could you do a similar test with the Smart #1? Is the Cupra 4wd? I suppose a comparison would need the brabus version. My Zoe does about 130 miles averaging 70mph in temperatures of around 13 degrees c but over 200 miles averaging 40pmph

Good result and not a fail as every other country besides Germany you'd have Blues & Reds or Blues pulling you over doing 130 so 120 is like 110 which is most countries top speed with the extra buffer. Did you mean 249 or 294 as your calculator shot showed 294??

What do you think the likely max range is at closer to max speed of 100km/hr - 110km/hr in warm temperatures? The born 77kWh is coming to Australia soon and we've ordered one! We make a regular trip that is 420km away, and the charging infrastructure is nearly non existent (just one non-tesla charger on the way down - its currently out of order stranding people)!
I'm hoping I a can make it on one charge (just) in the event chargers are broken or lines too long to use them.
    Thanks for your video.

I think it shouldn't be a big problem.
According to Byorn Nyland tests, range is 50% bigger for 90 km/h than 120 km/h. I think it can be similar between 100 km/hr and 130 km/h (I was looking at his Id.3 tests)
Also, in warm temperatures, range should be bigger by another 15%.

Does the tested car have heat pump?

The distance the car measures is going to be correct and the gps distance will be wrong.
The reason is simple. Imagine a straight road if you use gps position there will be an error margin so one gps point will be ten or a hundred meters on one side of the road and the next gps position will be 10 or a hundred meters on the other side of the road. So the route the gps is measuring will be more zig zag than the actual route travelled.
The car might be measuring the distance according to wheel revolutions, and we hope the tire pressure doesn't change the radius of the wheel. But it's going to be much better to measure wheels turning on a straight line compared to a zig zag.

Reference distance is google maps not GPS distance. GPS reference is only for speed.

Does it have the 5th seat belt in this car, with the 77kWh battery pack?

It exists but it's optional, it adds an extra 150 euro in belgium for example

my renault megane 60kw does 300km on italian autobahn .. talking about efficiency cupra need a 17kw bigger battery to do the same 😢

the range depends on many parameter. I also do regularly 300km with my ID.3 on highways on the summer at 120kmh with 57kwh battery. I live in the south of Europe and regularly get good ranges. But is not the same as the test done here with these conditions.

Is it because of the battery cold that you only get 70kwh batterie size ?

100%-0% (without reserve under 0%) is actually pretty close to that number, although it should be higher. Could be the car has some 3% degradation, or there was some losses while driving.

@@janjer5361 Also 0% is not *really* 0% as it has some buffer.
