- FYI for the revving clip and a small bit at the end I had to use my old camera to film due to an unexpected dead battery in my new one. I also annotated the video where it comes up. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up. Most all of the video has been filmed with the new one. In this video I give a full in depth tour of the 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 Laramie Cummins Mega Cab. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this truck while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this truck designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

Inline 6 cyliders typically have superior low-end torque, fewer moving parts that can break, and straight blocks are usually easier to work on in a longitudinal configuration. They have their downsides, but most large trucks and industrial equipment use inline 6 engines for these reasons. I believe an inline engines works best for trucks like this.

My truck looks like that, I have an 07 3500 Mega Cab with the 5.9, mine is black and a single rear wheel like that one. Great truck, it’s my road trip pulling rig.

That is a nice design for the folks sitting in the back seat. You are not totally vertical, but at a comfortable position. I own a 7.3 and a 5.9 diesel and am a little scared of the EPA regulated newer diesels, but the Cummins is still the safest bet out there.

My Dad has this truck... sorta. It's a 2009 model Ram 2500 Heavy duty without the Laramie trim and dual zone climate control and a stupid camper shell that makes it look like a Ford Excursion.
UPDATE: traded out the camper shell for an aftermarket flatbed

@saabkyle04 , For your information,I do have the same camera as you do and something like that has happened to me before.The battery will show that it has three bars and quickly drop to zero and unexpectedly shuts off.Doesn't happen too often though.Other than that, this is a great camera overall and it shows by the quality of your videos.
@Gazooo29 I own an 08 1500, same as this 07 basically, theyre not great inside, pretty cheapy feeling, but theyre quite reliable and powerful. Gas mileage is around 18mpg for the Hemi

What's the difference between the Mega & Crew cabs?
The mega cab has that extra little extension behind the rear doors for storage and more back seat room, and bigger rear doors so theres more room in the back seat, if you look at just a crew cab the doors are a little smaller and it doesn't have that extension.
Because its an inline 6. I6's are torque monsters. What do you think semis have in them? Guess what, they have inline 6's.
Easy to notice how long it takes for diesels to heat up when you rev it. At that point in the video most petrol cars are warmed up, but this one hasn't even gotten to the middle part.
Love diesels, but in a cold country it's annoying having to wait so long for the heater to do anything -_-
@naterade21 You rather your head gaskets blowing too, EGR clogging, turbo mutilating itself, heads cracking etc... =P

Read somewhere that this sucks gas. 12 Hwy/8 city (compared to dealer's 18 HWY/12City quote) and the a/c could never maintain proper coolness on very hot days. Can any Megacab owners confirm?
this truck as it sits gets about 18 mpg goin 65 mph. if you delete it, it will jump up to 21-23 mpg

@strumem90 Don't take me the wrong way, I'm not trying to offend you. I hear you on the fuel mileage as well, owned one for about 4 months, a 98 with a 5 speed, the best it could pull off was 12 on a good day, going downhill, with a tail wind, being pulled by another truck lol
'98 (12v?) with a 5 speed can't be compared to a 6.7 24v. I have a 2007 mega w/ 5.9 24v. Auto got 16-17mpg. Swapped in a G56 6-speed manual and now get a solid 20mpg. Hand calculated. All that said, I've heard of 12 valves getting into the 20s, so something seems amiss. You have the Cummins? Good to get the info out there though. Most folks don't consider fuel mileage.
The 5.9 doesn't, I don't know about the 6.7. The 5.9 uses a grid heater that heats the air as the engine pulls it in.
All Cummins engines use grid heaters.
@luisinhoens90 Haha well I drive a 00 Maxima and those are notorious for MAF sensor failure, o2 sensor failure and a host of other defective parts that occur on a large scale with all the owners so I can get made fun of for that too lol. I had to drop about 1100 bucks of work into it since 2008 and another 300 or so for A/C repair this summer.
I do agree that Cummins is definently the way to go! But for the def fluid, fuck that shit! If someone can afford a pick up that new they can obviously afford to get the full delets.

@1bentley4ever 3013 is the rpm of the engine at max horsepower, 350 horsepower. no pickup truck on the face of this earth has 3013 horsepower even with mods. and its not like some1 picked it out of a hat."hey guys lets make the 2007 dodge ram cummins engine have 3013 rpms at max horsepower" lol no offence!

Bristol Daffern I drive a 1500 SLT and I get 13 in city and 17 on highway with that combined I get a total of 15 MPG
