  • I'm still living alone off-grid in this remote cabin. I find some time to focus on some hobbies while also keeping busy with the tiny house conversion! Overall, it was a pretty lonely couple of weeks out here...

Hi Nate, Just a suggestion if you're at home all day and have the stove lit you can cook your dinner on the wood stove and save propane. Just leave it cooking slowly all day. I've got steak and veg on mine at the moment. Everything usually comes out really tender and tasty.

My woodstove is my pizza oven, always has a pot of hot water for tea, skewered shish kabab cooker, a dutch oven bread cooker, cooks a big pot of soup or stew in short order, a clothes dryer (with a clothes rack set up over it)..etc etc etc. Saves me a ton of money. Oh yeah..it also keeps my 2 story house toasty warm.

See being alone isn't that bad. You built a practice golf course. Did some other things. Sometimes being to ourselves is needed. Wondered why you wouldn't put the putting part where you have the flag and put the flag in the other direction so you wouldn't be hitting the balls towards the structures. Thanks for the images of space that was awesome. 💕

I live in Burque/ABQ/The Duke City and there’s a lovely little micro-brewery/eatery place in Corrales called Casa Vieja which has people playing/entertaining there in an evening. Nate so happy for you to get out the telascope. Perhaps you could put a coupe of pictures on tee shirts as that would be so cool. Also you could wrap in foil a sandwitch, no letuce or tomato and fix a hot one on the wood burning stove. Then add other things. Beautiful foliage around there. After the mat lays out for awhile hopefully it flatten out so the ball rolls better. Will be glad to see Shannon back as she rocks. Thanks and see you next time.

You should also consider getting some frisbee golf baskets (holes) and scattering around your property as holes. Much less construction needed and a lot of frisbee golf courses all over the country are free. My sister got tired of paying expensive ball golf course fees and got into frisbee golf. She was so good, she went pro and was actually ranked. Easy to bring a bag of discs with you wherever you go and you could get a lot of practice on that much land.
    Have fun!

While I truely enjoy these videos of living with less, I have to say I disagree with the descriptive title; Off Grid. Yes, your disconnected from utility Grid, but too my belief and understanding,, if you have a vehical, you most likely need fuel. The stations are powered by the grid. If you didn't use your vehical,, you'd not have processed food or a Generator to help keep your foods stable. So,,, unfortunately, you are GRID dependant. Still all that said; you ARE grid dependant reduced. I am still trying too eliminate that need by going back too those who survived in order for ALL OF US,, to be here today. Difficult indeed, those pioneers,, they were amazing tough individuals.
But then again; like fish in a fish bowl,, they knew nothing of the spoils we now have.
