    Get you a straw hat and a net. And see if you can find you a gel bead scarf too soak in water and wrap it around your neck. Sounds crazy I know, but those things work. I worked 40 years in the direct sunlight in both West Texas, Arizona and New Mexico. A native of Arizona taught me that in thee late 70's. I was an apprentice plumber "ditch digger" then. I remember working in fountain Hill's outside of Pheonix once pick axing a ditch, had too be at least 160' long,, all day long! It was 114deg F. that day for a high. You get USE TOO IT!

    Hi Nate! Your channel predates mine by about six months, and I was a big fan of your videos back in the original Element (and early NV200) days. Then life got in the way and I lost track of you, but I've been watching your videos again for the last month and have really enjoyed them. It's great to see that you're still living the dream. I'd love to come visit you guys down in New Mexico at some point! -Tristan

    There are several UA-camrs I watch that have gotten Starlink and they love it. You got to get yourself a Cuisinart little grille they make the best cheese sandwiches and it doesn't burn. In fact, they make a lot of really good sandwiches, that are easy and quick. Great for patty melts, and tuna melts. Your place is really coming together and looks great.

    This dude works hard. Great job bro keep it going!
    One thing you'll learn about Starlink is that it really needs as much wide open space and that it will rotate throughout the day. Even your house becomes an "obstacle" so you'll want to mount it higher up. Another thing to consider is purchasing the side mount for a house or pole mount and just run a permanent wire into the house to plug into. The dish is pretty rugged. Otherwise I think you'll be very happy with it!

    I really enjoyed this video - you showed so much in it. I loved the lack of music so we could hear the utter, beautiful silence of where you live. That headnet/bug net should be the very next thing you buy (two of them). I also have a wildflowers poster tacked on my wall. 🌻🌞

    Have you tried the "chill it" towels or headband yet? I've tried the towel, my company gives them out on the shop floor in the summer. I think they work. You move it around and a different spot is cold and when you take it off thinking it's not working anymore you'll feel that area stay really cold. I wet mine wring it out then freeze it.

    A hint on leaving the hood of your vehicle open during windy days:
    For less 'sail-like' exposure use a stick or piece of 2x stock about 12" long, let the hood frame settle onto that and use a beefy bungee to keep downward tension on the hood so the wind can't move it. In my experience it still tends to keep rodents out (they don't like exposure to potential predators), while at the same time keeping rain etc out.

    I just got back from my 85 mile trip too Klamath falls too get more hardware and stores. Gotta get ready for being snowed in again come winter, AGAIN. " This will be my 4th, love it though." Still haven't got any
    walls up on my burned out
    cabin aftet last July's 418k acre burnout, I lost at least 2000 pines on my 18 acres, wont live long enough too see them come back. But my aspens are already popping up down on the creek.

    • @posteroonie
      @posteroonie 2 роки тому +1

      There aren't any rattles on that snake so it must be a different species. Ah, it's a gopher snake as per Wikipedia and an earlier post. I suspect that a rattle snake would have coiled and rattled before Nate got so close.

    • @edwinlipton
      @edwinlipton 2 роки тому

      @@posteroonie don't bet the store on that. A past individual friend of mine were in his front yard shooting the bull one morning, he was leaned up against a 3ft chain link fence when I noticed a 2-1/2 ft rattler woven horizontally into that fence. He was warming up in the morning Sun. I even stepped over them in fields out there in the afternoon and had too double back too make sure I was right. Rattler.
      Truth is they only see your heat signature and can't tell your intentions. When I was younger in Albuquerque, Stockton and Arizona,, everyone of them I came across would rattle,, not today though. "Think" it has too do with evolutionary survival past down. They don't let ya know anymore that there there most times.
      They wanna keep there heads intact.

I really resonated with your vid on the unexpected challenges, especially just how much longer everything takes. And man, these little midges/gnats are absolutely insane.
