Condolences regarding your ski pole. Great runs nonetheless.

Haha, yeah, we've been on many great journeys together over the past few years but it finally gave up. It's an adjustable pole so I extended it to the length of the other and skied one final day...

The skiing is great but some other parts are hard work...

As you will know Plan A came to a stop with that fall and small injury on the Monday, my left leg and knee is now well on the mend, so on to Plan B. First day of spring here in Britain is 20 March, I'll be going to Chill Factore to inquire, and starting from scratch do my lessons there. Those Nordica boots were a problem for me, I'll be selling them on ebay, and getting some beginner boots from the Snow + Rock shop next to CF. All-being-well and Plan B will work out better then Plan A did.

Hi and very happy you are going with Plan B. IMO there is nothing worse than skiing with uncomfortable boots. I was on my fourth pair before I thought I got it right but I was still breaking my big-toe nail every season as one foot is larger than the other. I have now got new boots 0.5 size larger and think I've finally cracked it (after decades). So I would not recommend buying another pair right now. When you start at Chill Factore, they will provide boots so that gives you an ideal opportunity to test boot sizes whilst skiing and once you figure that out, you can buy a new pair of the same or similar boot. In my experience, I was always measured at 27.5, which never worked. Once I got a 28 and 28.5, it was a relief but now I'm on a 29 and that is the comfort size for me while my big-toe nail still looks good. As I have mentioned before, getting the right boot is a priority and you have a good opportunity to do that.

@@ChasingSnow Well my mondo at the boot fitter - Rivington Alpine - I used is 26.5 for the Nordica Doberman's, and I could wiggle my toes in them. The *problem* was they were to much boot for me, as they were racers designed for a higher skill skier then beginner. I know I do NOT want a similar pair, but I have narrow feet, and I'll have a talk to the S+R shop boot guy after I've spoken to the CF person and done the Never skied before intro lesson(s). Te hire boots they use for beginners seem to be a wider last. So long as my feet are snug and comfortable I really don't care what the (new) boots will be like.

Do you have tips for the area (eating/drinking)? I will be there next week.
Also how do you do the thing with the elevation and speed shown on movie?

I was camping when I was there so didn't really eat out. I use Virb Edit to display the telemetry info. It's free but discontinued so no more support.
