It is a delight to have the house opened up and the breezes blowing thru airing out the place. The young lady who detrained here was quick to don a jacket as she waited for her transportation. Morning Mike. A gorgeous sunrise for the Zephyr's Ft Morgan stop, today. A quick stop and on her way again. The chorus seems a little weak, this morning. I wonder if some of them have decided to hunt for a cooler habitat? That appears to be happening with the smaller birds, around here. Not the darn pigeons, though. Good afternoon, Carolyn; I thank you for stopping by as well as the comments. I had given thought to doing a rain dance here, but it ended up sending the rain to Iowa. My heart goes out to a lot of those folks back there. Our monsoon is over, but I will certainly enjoy the temperatures here today as tomorrow we go back to the much higher temps. There were a few songbirds around this morning. Not the numbers we have heard in the past. I am now seeing some "free-range" chickens across the tracks. The extreme heat causes a "heat kink" in the rails. I have not seen one around here but the UP has serious problems in Nevada and so does BNSF. @@MikeJensen-jt9yrUave you ever come across cat & chicken videos?. saw one earlier where a hen was being checked for eggs, she pecked the persons hand but in lifting the hen found newborn kittens!! I love to watch cats & chickens fight, usually the chicken wins.As you are probably are aware, the videos are all over the place. I enjoy watching them together!!!

Got an update on the guy who went to far off and got left by amtrak in Fraser. He had his family onboard, his wife didn't know right away because he had a couple rooms for his kids. He took an uber to the next stop, Grand Junction. Cost him over $300.00 and reboarded the train. Expensive mistake, glad he was able to get back with his family.

Good Morning Mike! Nice day for a train ride! Wish it was me! Picnic today, fireworks tonight. Takes a lot, to get me to go. I like the professional ones, just very uncomfortable with kids and adults doing the amateur bottle rockets, etc. Makes me too nervous to sit outside. Hopefully you can enjoy them in your town. I like the picnic idea but have put up with the illegal fireworks here all of last night and I'm sure they will continue for the next week or so. The city of Denver has outlawed all fireworks as well as several other communities out here. Drones will replace the fireworks in Denver and a couple other cities along the front range. I too prefer the professional displays. But I do use the pop-bottle rockets to move the turkey buzzards out of a couple of trees in the neighborhood. That happens only after a good soaker rain, or the watering systems have operated. I'm in it for the taste of the foods. I admit to staying indoors with the TV turned up as to drown out the booms and all. The noise does have an effect on me. Anyway, have a wonderful picnic. Please take care and stay safe!

I am surprised BNSF hasn't brought it thru. But out delightful state legislature decided to ban a lot of weed reduction processes. We have been under the constant rule of the extreme liberals that moved here from California. I would very much like to send them all back there. Ok. Off my soapbox. Anyway, have a great Sunday. I saw a cartoon in Model Railroader magazine years ago where a club member shows disgust for another member's "working weed burner" after it started some of the club layout scenery on fire!
