In an alternate universe there is a nummy who drafted 6 counterspells, 2 archive traps, a crab and a lock picker. While this excites me as a control player, that deck probably 0-2’d
Double archive trap is BUSTED. I have a hard time seeing that deck losing lol.
*with Cruel Ultimatum. That would've been the perfect nummy deck!
@@justinrishel1742 how could I forget
@@justinrishel1742 yeah, but black didn’t seem very open and I don’t think he’d be about splashing triple black lol. Ultimatum requires base black and splashing one of the off colors.
Trap is busted, not bad
You passed on the Cruel Ultimatum? There's no way you are real, my favorite control player/streamer would never do that. 😂
its a bad card
Just finished watching your Day 1 draft video and Day 2 immediately dropped, life's good
These videos are more exciting that the premier of a movie, goddamit... The tears , smiles and friends we make along the way. Golden God 🤍
I hate to see the flood and screw for you bro. But it helps to know its not just us regular dudes that it happens to. Thats magic baby. 😢
Arena knows, you didn't draft the 3rd Three Steps Ahead. So now you're just streets behind.
I drew 9 lands in a row yesterday, smashed my mouse as well. lol
This game does this to me all the time…..
idk why playing this draft feels more miserable when you're not in the lead compared to other drafts i've played. Not sure why
Yeah. I lost a die roll today. Murdered my todler lol
Can't believe you didn't run the pylons. In a two color deck, it helps with mana issues quite a bit. One of my favorite lands in the format and the stats back it up
14:44 do you say “nine steps ahead”? 😂😂😂
1:11:59 maybe slice sequence in response to the enchantment could draw a card? I’m not sure if the 2/2 can sacrifice itself with no enchantment and artifacts on board.
He drew a card anyways, an island. Remember he played this town ain’t big enough earlier
@Three steps of Head? :D
How many of those red blue decks started with Cruel Ultimatum though 😅?
Dang, this would have been the perfect mill deck.
My past 2 drafts ive drawn over 50% lands in the first 15 cards in almost every game
At 39:40, calamity only copies the base stat? Because otherwise you could have used your 1/1 to boost your flying creature, and when you copy you create two 3/3. But I imagine it doesn't work like that if you haven't done it
I was thinking the same during the match. So I looked it up: "Each of the tokens copies exactly what was printed on the original creature and nothing else (unless that creature is copying something else or is a token; see below). It doesn’t copy whether that creature is tapped or untapped, whether it has any counters on it or Auras and Equipment attached to it, or any non-copy effects that have changed its power, toughness, types, color, and so on."
I had a 4 loss draft because of a random disconnect when I restarted MTGA both games were active and I couldn't play anything. Closed the stale match and finished the active one. They need to fix that shit.
2 traps, crab, and lockpicker
RIP
cutting skewer and robbery in your U/R spells deck to keep cards I consider virtually unplayable like redrock sentinel in your deck is wild to me, am I missing sth?
Redrock sentinel is secretly really good.
Redrock Sentinel is gas
I mean, I can see it doing sth in a green ramp deck where you might run out of gas but are left with a ton of mana, but when do you ever want to use that ability in U/R spells instead of just casting a highway robbery or skewering sth for 1 mana
What software do you use to track your stats?
I would have considered taking Fortune with Posse Boss in the deck and you already planning to splash white
Game 1 reminded me why I never play Arena anymore and only paper
the flood and screw seems to happen way too often. It's incredibly frustrating
Wasn't opponent at 3 life, at least, at 40:35? His pests die, so he goes back up to 3, and if he had wanted to he could've gone up to 5 by chumping more.
That’s magic baby!
Love seeing an add for something that says out of stock...
I would have ended up with a grixis cruel ultimatum/2x archive trap deck
Enjoy your content each day I know it wears on you at times but you do a great job.
Bro passed splinter twin smh. I’ve personally found the lockpick trap combo to be quite powerful
pick 2 ultimatum is correct. you could have just been red black with a bit of blue and had a much sweeter deck
Woulda been on bandits haul, splash at knifepoint for grixis crimes.
Maaaan, brutal :((
The turn before the calamity in 1st round 2nd game you missed 1 damage by not pumping with merc on flyer. It was riskier but you kinda had to go for it
first game, is what happens to me most of the time i play OTJ, i build so many great decks and most of it i lost bcs i got flooded, its so frustrating
1:10 seems like bouncing your 3/3 and the 5/4 is the better play seeing as you can plot the 3/3 and use the 2-damage spell to kill his guy after he recasts it. It didn't end up mattering since he drew the Lively Dirge, but then you have the Cacturantula locked down and can kill the 5/4, which seems better than allowing the 6/5 to be active.
Anyway, sorry to see you get so many mana problem games. Sucks when you have that many games where you don't get to play.
Thought so to, if he did that it seems like were left with the 3/3 vs a 2/2. Probably still not winning but bouncing the stop cold just seems like a play that always loses in that spot.
The draws were horrible! So sorry, Nummy! Next time you'll get that 2k, don't you worry about it.
Mandelbrot Set Your a Rorscach test on fire
55:01 most of these cards shouldn't be in deck in the first place
Thank you! Those geyser drakes did a whole lot of nothing a good chunk of the time. Maybe they would’ve been better had he picked up the archive traps but 3 is excessive for this deck
Could have been a solid Green/White deck
i guess the only change would be the Highway robbery.
im sure the shuffler would give it to you in a 2 Island opener
If they didn't tamper with hands and drawing for sure, and always pairing you up almost mirror matches, if arena was completly organic it would be ok. Even though commanders can't access all the cards it would be ok. I still prefer the alpha client for mtg.
didnt watch the whole video yet but isnt it a mistake early pack 2 and already in blue to pick up the first archive trap? i mean chances are good you get the flashback creature/mill creature etc.. i woul dhave icked it 100% over the 1/3
If it’s any consolation, that second game where you missed one damage didn’t change. Those pests gain them life when they die, so they could block the Calamity and survive even if they were at 4 hp (38:33)
The pests give life as a death trigger, not instantly like lifelink. The opponent would lose before those triggers even go to stack.
@@Padishar7 great point! I stand corrected
Needed the shades
on game 2 40:00 wouldn't saddling the peerless ropemaster win you the game? bounce 2 creatures and force 3 blocks leaves opponent with 0 board and at 3 life
Ropemaster only bounces tapped creatures.
I would have cut Redrock Sentinel. Now to watch the games and see how it performs.
i feel like drafting blue red was the mistake… unfortunately
Least winningest
I make the least winningest play a lot ^^
Kinda lucky to get 4 rares from pack 1 picks. BR might not be the best color combination in the set, but being gifted so much stuff in those colors helps.
Flaps its* wings
The 1 point of damage with the geyser drake / calamity combo would not have mattered, since you have to attack with calamity to generate the attacking drake tokens and they had pest infestation tokens which heal 1 on death, with which they could have blocked calamity to gain additional life right?
They would lose the game with the trigger on the stack assuming they had 4 life.
@@vincentdrouin3545 Ah right that makes sense, I was thinking of it like lifelink, but I suppose indeed opponent would lose before the stack trigger happens, thanks for explaining!
mtg asmr... a new kind of content?
Feels Bad Ltd.
Pack 1 pick 2... U know u should have... When u did the pick, everyone knew the result😢
passing archive trap(s)...noooo....
~Game 2 of Match 1~ You were way further away on damage than one. Each pest that blocks the calamity will gain him a life, so he could have blocked with up to four pests and put you five damage short.
Life gain is a trigger, won’t resolve if oppo is at 0
Feels bad man, but, nothing you can do about those draws. :/ And they were consistently bad draws. You were at a disadvantage every single match just based on draws. Oh well, on to the next opportunity.
I know ill never make it far in a limited toirnament because theres never a world om not snap picming cruel ultamatum turn 2
ouch.
Wishy Washy...
Hmm, so basically lost to cheap creatures, decks with tons of removal, and 3 steps ahead never being around when they put down 5-7 drops and the like sadly. Steed didn't really get a chance to shine ever either. Rough.
NOOO BUT OTJ HERO WINS EVERY TIME!!!!!!😢😢
why was using calamity on the ropemaster in game 1, round 2 not the play, the etb would have removed two pests
You should read ropemaster
He even said only returns tapped creatures lol.
My fiance wants to know what your skin care routine is. She has complimented it a few times now
1/2 cup distilled vinegar
half an onion
dash of pepper
1 cup blood of the innocent
Butter and a soft brush...
Didnt matter if you missed damage in game 2 of match 1, they gained life from blocking with the pests anyway.
Not if nummy finished oppo before the triggers
Wen #2 is #2. 💩 😅
3 copy creature cards and nothing really that exciting to copy...
Watch Paul Cheon... a better youtuber, player and person.. you might learn something!
