Hi my name is Wynand I come from South Africa. I tried this recipe on Sunday actually my first time making seafood! It was super tasty! Making this again at this very moment! Thank you for sharing these recipes!!
I love Pailin. She brightens my day every time. Good soul and great recipes.
I tried this recipe and it is amazing. I added some veggies into the mix and I didn't have any chillies so I improvised with some siracha. Sorry if that ruined the traditional recipe but it was so delicious.
absolutely delicious sweet and sour dish. I will make it again may be more of chillies next time. Thanks for sharing....loving it.
I love you like crazy girl...the presentation and the speech...as well as the fun u make and the personality......u go girl
I am so glad I found your channel chef 😄
Thank you!
I love how you gave all the right notes regarding the recipe and what to watch out for. Much appreciated! 😊
I tried your recipe, and it is amazing! I used shrimp head stock instead, and it still turned out so good.
I have made this tamarind and oranges sauces mixing for prawns and chickens and well. With touching extra virgin oil and spring onions... I can tell you it tastes like heaven
This recipe is excellent. I made it exactly as shown, with all listed ingredients. In fact, the only thing I had to buy was the shrimp. I used Thai bird chilis in the paste mixture, upping the number to 4, and the heat level was just right. Not too much, not painful, but a nice, steady heat that accented the dish perfectly. I will so be making this again. Thank you, Pailin, for another burst of inspiration!
I got tamarind paste for something and didn't know what else to make with it. This recipe was the first one I found that used only ingredients I already had. Video was very easy to follow and it tastes great! Thank you
Oooooweeee I cannot wait to make this. I too love shallots. Such a magical lil bulb.
I made it yesterday and it came out so good. Everyone loved it .thanks a lot .
Hey, Pai. I used to cook this dish. My mum's recipe. Only I don't use shrimps. I fried some fish yellowstripe scad and add it to the tamarind sauce. Sometimes I used dried salted fish. YUMS!
My wife and I have been looking at your recipes for about two years now. We thoroughly enjoy learning from you and our friends and family enjoy our attempts of cooking Thai food. Your recipes are easy to follow and they taste great also. Just wanted to take the time and say Thank you !
Thank you for your Fabulous Videos. I'm Challenged in the kitchen but seeing your videos has made me keen on trying my hand at cooking. It's rare to find a great cook who can actually break down the process into something that is easy for others to follow!! Thank you ever so much.
I just love these videos and recipes... every time I´m learning more and more about Thai- kitchen... My friend´s wife (thai) is sometimes wondering, where the hack I´ve got my "secret" information...
I love this with less sauce and thicker and more syrupy. And I like it better if shrimps coated with potato or corn starch deep fried in oil.
your recipe is filled with a new twist on shrimp.SPICY AND ELEGANT.thank you for sharing.
Thank you for your informative videos. I was extremely delighted to stumble across youtube channel and (subsequently) your website. My husband and I spent our honeymoon in Phuket, Thailand and we absolutely fell in love with the food. Ever since we got back we consistently try different thai restaurants here in Ottawa in pursuit of the same delicious meals we experienced in Thailand. Unfortunately, nothing here tastes as good as the authentic Thai food we had. But we have had some luck with the tom yum soups. Thank you again for creating these videos and allowing us the opportunity to learn how to cook Thai food with authentic recipes. :D

In southeast Asian cuisine, tamarind sauce is featured in dishes such as Pad Thai and Tamarind shrimp. The sauce is sold in bottles, like ketchup. It has a nice tangy sour flavor. Combining that with a reasonable amount of sugar and stock makes it irresistible. I tried it today on pan-fried pork chops, portobello mushrooms, and onions. It worked!
Hello!😊 I love watching your videos, it helps me a lot as a student taking up culinary arts here in Philippines. We are now in Thai Cuisine, I was browsing alot of thai cooking and I discover yours, very informative, quick cooking, a lot of techiques and you are sharing alternative ingredients if we don't have one. 😊 Great great show. I made this recipe. It is so simple and tastes awsome
I had this delicious dish a couple years ago in Thailand during a 3-day trip to Ko Sichang. During the meal the chef saw me peeling the shrimp. He came over to explain that peeling was unnecessary because they were fried and were edible. He was right and it added a nice crunchiness.
You are a great chef. We can't wait to try this recipe. Thank you for sharing

Yummy Palins. you make me drools. Where did you get the tamarind paste?
If you cant find tamarind paste. You can soak tamarind in warm water, squeez it a lil with your hands. That's what me and my mom do to get tamarine paste. Oh and not to much water. Just to moise the tamarind up but not like soup. My mom sometime puts the tamarind meat in some dish too. And take it out before serving! Always good results!
love your recipes! keep up the good work! best of regards from Sweden
Great video Pai! Can you make a wok video? Like preferences and tutorials on seasoning. Keep it up!

Direction of shrimp orientation is determined on location. In northern hemisphere, they should be arranged in a clockwise manner. In Australia, for example, they should be arranged in a counterclockwise manner.
🤔😲🤓
น่าทานมากๆเลยค่ะ
Pretty lady that can cook... Can win over any man. Haha. All of the dishes look delicious. It's just a shame that where I live, it's pretty difficult to find some ingredients.

not talkin for myself I really enjoy watchin the full episodes but im sure a lot people have no time to watch that long vid so just thinkin u can make two vids for each episode one for people like me and one for ones that want a quick idea trust me people will love it... cheers
She did it like that for a period of time in the past. But the short versions got very little views compared to the longer ones. I am sure her fans love it long, or even longer. :)
Spot on Hemon :) ... and for a "short non-visual version" Kemi hopefully people will realize that they can just go to the web site and check out the written recipes there?
fantastic I want to learn how to cook Thailand foods and I think it's healthy foods
this dush looks amazing!
Yum,,... I will make this tonite if I can find palm sugar
Thanks....Pailin!!! I have tried this dish today and it was awesome in taste but instead of palm sugar I used brown sugar. Do you have any recipe in Fish like this easy as this because here in Pakistan is hard to find Thai ingredients such as cilantro Shoots , etc. But still I manage with other ingredients in replacement and some how I make it better
