Immortal - The Northern Upir's Death (Compilation)

- A 2023 compilation of Immortal's earliest releases. Their Old Funeral meets Suffocation #deathmetal demo and their blisteringly cold #blackmetal EP (Unholy Forces of Evil) where its only other official rerelease was in the True Kings of Norway compilation from the 2000s. Both releases which introduced me to the band. Two rehearsal tracks from '92 were added.
This was released by Darkness Shall Rise Productions(youtube.com/@darknessshallris.... I also get the feeling this was given the greenlight solely by Demonaz who has been feeling nostalgic since War Against All's creative process. Maybe this'll affect the next Immortal album? Idk but I get that feeling.

I fucking love low evil growl vocal on first song , Like Broken Hope
Plenty of hints which has been elaborated later on "Blizzard Beasts".
Long overdue release, excellent quality too!
whoa

Awsome Fucking shit
Can't read that here, writings too small so I'd have to buy the cd if it's available.
Inquiry: Is this new or an older album reissued. Must be a demo? It sounds very raw.
All that info in the description but it's a 2023 compilation of their oldest stuff. First 4 songs is their self titled demo and the next 3 after is their self titled mini album in the same year. Closer to their early black metal days. As far as I know, its the first time these have been packaged up back to back. Officially of course
Ive never heard this.. this is pre Det Hedenske Folk,i presume
Very much so. Both the demo and ep portion were released in '91
it bends towards dark death rather than death metal imho. Good ol'stuff! And the interview is almost a piece of history.
Nothing is more tiresome than metal genre debates.
Agreed@@gallowsgradient
