*sigh* The late 80's & early 90's... this is how I remember Cafe Del Mar and how I want to remember it... the lone hotel block (forget its name now) standing on the headland there... less developed and built up, more open space and a lot less people... there used to be something really quite magical & special about this place... there was nowhere else like it. Then it all got a bit too much with Mambo opening next door. It became more of a 'party strip' and Cafe Del Mar became overshadowed by its bigger, louder, brasher neighbour. It all became a big commercial money making scheme and Cafe Del Mar ultimately suffered. I'm glad I will always have my memories.

Spot on ..was there 90-91-92 (twice)...so glad to have experienced it ...got a c60 off the man himself ..truly amazing place at that time ...
