This brought back memories of me opening my brand new RC10 back in the day. I bought my first kit back in 1988. It too has had many different configurations. I raced it in the offroad class for a few years, then it got converted into a latemodel and then into a sprint car for the oval class. Today it is in it's original form. A few years back I restored it back to almost perfect condition minus some scratches on the underneath of the chassis pan. Nice vid of the unboxing. Can't wait to see it built and painted.
I'm hoping that Team Associed also does an anniversary edition RC10T Stadium Truck in the near future. I should have never sold my original RC10T & kick myself in the ass now for doing so.
The anodizing looks more orange on your camera than I remember from the original "gold," version. Mine is awaiting delivery at the moment, and I, like you, am a man of a certain age who remembers when these cars ruled the local track. Fond memories of the smells and sounds of these cars with a ripper of a modified motor, and heavily customized pieces, making lap after lap look like they were glued to the track. I'm going with a dye job on the nylon parts and PS19 Camel Yellow with the paint, along with a set of bearings. I'm looking for a good vintage motor for nostalgia's sake, I think, with more modern electronics to fit out the rest of it. Good luck.
I always wanted one since I was a kid too. I never got one. Now that this was coming out. I got excited. But now that I've seen this video. I'm not so sure now. No Bearing kit? The Chassis is not the same as the Original. Very Disappointed at this point.
I am wondering if the gold coloring is the same as the original. The re-release 10 years ago had a different color of gold compared to the original. Thoughts?
I’ve heard the original Edinger cars were a really muted gold almost brownish and later Cadillac cars are more orange. The Re-Re that came out before the 40th I’ve heard was too orange and others have mentioned this one is more an in between of the original and the orange
@@jonthomas8487 I have an original RC10 "A" stamp. When the re-re came out last time I bought those parts for my original. The parts did fit but the color was wrong, just like you said. I sold those parts a year ago for a lot of money. I did finally find original parts for my RC10 but it took a lot of time and money. Thoughts?
I was highly disappointed in the chassis not only because of how thin and flimsy it is but because it has that ugly, distracting lip or ridge around the top edge.

the original pan is more of a yellow gold and the re-release is more orange

So, if you are looking to use re-release parts to fix an original RC10 the color will not be correct. The parts will fit. Thoughts?

I got the fast eddy classic rc10 bearing kit with the flanged bearings…. Hopefully it works….
let me know after you try it if it does, that would be helpful info for everyone
I just built the 40th kit and that’s the bearing kit I used and it worked fine

Oh yeah the Hardware was the other other disappointment.
