Thanks man. There's a few unique quirks with this thing that are odd coming from Fractal land but it's a very capable unit.
The GTK is amazing, I love it frankly, much more easier than my ax8 and seamless transition between patches
Price wise, it's right in the pocket. It competes in price with Line 6 Helix LT, HeadRush Pedalboard/Gigboard, and Atomic Amps AmpliFire 12. It also looks like it has more processing power than the Fractal FM3 & AX8 and Kemper Stage. Size wise it looks quite good too, not a behemoth and not too small

I know I am getting old because I preferred the Strat with the "funk" patch using the comp and Screamer style pedal for a dirty setup. I am looking at effects boards/rack units to pair with my Synergy Syn-2, and this, the HX FX, and a few other options are looking quite attractive.

This tone just screams in the vain of somewhere between George Lynch's tone on Back For The Attack and the first Lynch Mob record, you could realistically use this to play both and not too many people would know the difference! Excellent playing as well!
The tones were very good and authentic sounding which blew up my preconceived notion that Boss guitar amp modelers sound a bit fake. Would make a good fly rig.

Boss GT-1000 is getting good reviews nowadays, the tones are pro quality. I heard a patch emulating the Heil Talkbox in Boss GT-1000 using the expression pedal by smashsmash..CTrl 1 changes mode and switches on the Pedal...I have been trying to emulate it...
Can you please advise what the settings in the Humnizer is as per your opinion and what parameters is changed by the Expression pedal....thanks.
Also; on my "ambient" portion of the kitchen sink preset I use; I might replace the TeraEcho I use with the BinDrum delay. Good stuff either way.

Would this work as an all in one rig setup in your opinion? I love valve amps and all, but alas I am just a poor out of college guy and really just need an all in one recording/ live play solution.

What’s the best way to monitor the GT1000? I just bought a Core and don’t have an amp or monitors. Plan is to use headphones right now but I’d like to be able to monitor without headphones eventually.
I use studio monitors, 4 and 8 inch speakers in different locations and happy with both options
I have a boss gt8 i bought back in 2004 new and was looking at buying a new unit and was debating between the fractal fx3 and the line 6 and this unit which do you think can do the most and is the best unit out of the 3. really love your vids and your playing you do great reviews.
If you have the money the Axe-Fx III is best in show IMO

Really good video. I love my Gt1000, but I do get frustrated with it from time to time, mainly because the high gain sounds do not cut it when running into an amp (2 cable method).
Do you direct to FOH with this live? What do you monitor with on stage?
I'm an in-ear monitor and direct to FOH guy so that's how I'd use this.
Leon (or anyone here, reading this). I just cannot get my dry Mesa sound with the 4CM and the GT4. I love my TC50 sound and bought the GT1000 to get the effects from it and maybe to boost my clean channel with an overdrive on the GT1000. I don't know what I am doing wrong, but once connected, everything sounds fizzy and does not have that Mesa oomph. I guess there is something in the signal chain that affects the sound and since I turned off everything, the culprits must be on the far right of the chain. To be really honest I did not spend much time setting it up because i don't take my amps home from practice and before practice enough time just isn't available.
Check your output settings, there’s specific ones for how you plug it in but for me it’s just easier straight to a PA speaker
@@AdamManley7 sure but what is the correct settting , 'coz the closest setting is the recto return and I am far from satisfied with that choice.
well I've figured it out. First set the output knob so that it's somewhat equally loud as when the TC50 loop is bypassed. Then set the global EQ flat and thats it...

How does a gt 1000 compare to a real tube amp? Everyone seems to be talking about axe efx and other high end modelers, but what about units in this category? Would you feel like you are missing anything by plugging straight into a board live with something like the gt 1000? What about recording?
The GT1000 Preamps are pretty dynamic but overall this Untit sounds very "Hi-Fi", crystal clear Sound Quality, a Tube Amp trough a 4x12 Cab is of course different.
So it depends what you personally prefer , the GT 1000 is a very good All in One Box.
Honestly modelers these days are so good that they sound fantastic and can stand up to any real amps you may want to use. It's to the point where really the only differences are unquantifiable "mojo" things and personal preference/bias. Basically if you believe that tube amps are just plain better, then that is what you're going to hear and that's totally fine. If you are willing to accept using a modeler, you're going to love it and that's great too.
I would say, modelers do have so much functionality that they are easy to make sound bad, so you need to spend some time with one to get a fair opinion of it. If you sit down at guitar center and just toggle through presets I would not be surprised at all if you got a bad impression. I love Leon's videos here because he has spent the time to pull the best out of the gear.
