I have to say that I enjoy your reviews and it says alot to actually hear honest and unbiased opinions on firearms from a group of well educated individuals such as yourselves.
Great channel you have here. Subscribed. As far as the ECO goes, it looks like a fine weapon, but seems pretty 'snappy' as far as the recoil. Question: What ammo was being fired in the ECO for this video?
Iv got a valor which I carry owb everyday in coat weather. Great company.. on the extended mags trouble, just don't hit them hard when loading in the grip. Your asking for trouble. Just push it in until it clicks in...
Love my ECO, it's also my everyday carry. I have other 1911s I enjoy range shooting with more including my DW CBOB and my Les Baer but for every day carry you can't beat the ECO.
I have decided that when I do buy my EDC, it will be the Dan Wesson ECO 9mm. As much as the S&W Shield is great on features, it is no Dan Wesson It looks like most can be had for low $1,300 range. Thanks for the video review!
Your site and UA-cam channel is you one of the reasons I have started working on putting my 3 gun setup together I'm looking at getting my belt together right now
Have you had a chance to shoot the Springfield Range officer champion? I'm leaning towards the Dan wesson eco, the colt defender and the Springfield range officer champion
+Christopher Rodriguez I have shot all of them. I can't recommend anything to you without verifying which caliber you are interested in. 9mm or 45 ACP? I think the ECO is the only choice for 9mm and great in .45 if not a little snappy. I generally avoid modern/new Colt guns to avoid paying the Pony Premium. The Champion is awesome in 45 but wasn't reliable enough for me in 9mm (and I really wanted it to be!). Hope this helps! Sorry for the delay in getting back.
I have a 980$ smith 1911 pro series. Why do I want to have this one as well. My new smith is not malfunctioning?!&@$!?@!--ps. Dude in the blue shirt hits the gym!!!!!!
Why would you carry a $1600 gun? If you have to use it in a self defense situation there's a good chance its going to be sitting in an evidence locker for a very long time.
There are lots of reasons but I think the only one that can't be argues is that its cool. Not for me but I can't fight the cool card. Thanks for watching!
I can't afford one right now, but if I could I would carry it. You want the best when your life is or may be on the line. If it is sitting in an evidence locker, that means (hopefully) you lived through the event.
I have the A2 for my one gun to enjoy shooting. I don’t collect and carry a G19(for 16 years). Waiting on my Vigil commander in 45 to ship, which will be on me except when I go into the city or travel. The little guy needs to hit the weight room. To be that young and have zero muscle definition is gonna be in bad shape later in life.
Modern generic polymer pistols that are nothing more than cheap knockoff GLOCK copies have most of you people delusional when you say or think a all steel 1911 that costs $1,499 - $1,600 is "expensive". That's not a lot of money for a super high quality pistol filled with forged steel parts. You ought to see my Wilson Combat CQBs, Springfield Armory Professional FBI HRT/SWAT and Les Baer Thunder Ranch if you think that ^^ is expensive. Try nearly doubling or tripling that amount. They worth every single penny too! That's also why a REAL Sig Sauer (P-220, P-226, P-228, P-229) runs $899 - $1000ish these days. Even a Beretta M9/92FS is over $600. Plastic junk is not expensive to make, nor will they hold their resale value after you use, carry and shoot them like a good quality all metal firearm will. Don't get me wrong, I love all my GLOCKs and wouldn't trade them for any amount of money. The other polymer junk that is so popular these days? Oh boy, yeah....another polymer striker fired 9mm...... I'll PASS!
I personally agree with you. Since this video was made I have had a complete evolution towards all steel. I have been really spoiled with my 3 Gun 2011s and can't seem to go back to plastic for any reason. Thanks for the awesome comments!
I have no idea why this channel isn't larger. you guys do an awesome job, and I shutter to think how good your videos would be with 500 k sub $.

Recently purchased the ECO in 45 ACP.
Beautiful trigger and shoots great. The plan is to add it to our carry rotation.
+Jim Nance Awesome gun!
Don't have an ECO but love my Vbob. Dan Wesson makes a great 1911.
I agree great gun mines in 45 also had for about a year keep him full with underwood 185 grain +p
That sir is a square table...Just found your channel and I'm loving it great content!
+sam olive Really glad to hear you like it. Admittedly, we are geometrically challenged.

+Hawkeye Ordnance I'm definitely to move up to .45 thank you for the reply. I'm really looking to get the ECO and it really calls out to me.
When is the new website going to be up and running for Hawkeye ordnance
+Willis Undersell Very very soon - what can I help you with?
Where is this beautiful gun shop located? I live in Iowa and would love to visit.
I have a 980$ smith 1911 pro series. Why do I want to have this one as well. My new smith is not malfunctioning?!&@$!?@!--ps. Dude in the blue shirt hits the gym!!!!!!
I love my 9mm ECO! 45 is too much for it.
Sounds like you’re trying to convince yourself that 9mm from a 1911, regardless of size was the right choice.
in 9mm that thing would be a perfect carry 1911!(for me cuz i have bitch wrists)
No for many reasons. Yes for a few.

$1700 dollar HG .45 are you fucking nuts...Next I will stick to my HK 45C...
Some guys just love the 1911s and there is not a thing you can say to get them to stop spending money on them. Thanks for watching!
Hawkeye Ordnance 3 Gun
roger that..
Hawkeye Ordnance 3 Gun
$1600?!?!?!?! 🤣🤣😒
More like dont spend foolishly. There are other option at 600 less and great quality. Try the S&W pro series 3". It carries better and shoots great.
Great info for the community. I have to say I love this gun though. Sometimes it's worth the treat.

I have a Dan Wesson Valor 5" black stainless, so I know DW builds a high quality piece. :)
You are very welcomed my friend.
