Great video to educate homeowners who may not know how to locate the septic tank especially if you just purchased the home and the previous owners never told you where it is.

They should always install risers for easy access. But no. Bastards want to save few $ and always bury the lid 2-3 feet below ground and never leave the location known. Not even on the septic permit chart. Makes me so mad...

Unfortunately, no. Finding the D box can be pretty difficult - at least around here where nearly all components are buried.

Same here. Guess unless u have a mapped system it’s all about the backhoe. I’ve used a prod but stones are prevalent everywhere lol. Enjoy the day ! JT

A new standard should definitely exist to mark the D box, at minimum. Maybe I should reach out to our local SEOs to get the ball rolling on that… at least around here.

Twenty years ago I was selling my home in Southwest Missouri. A home inspector came out and simple dropped a electronic device in the toilet and flushed it. Ten minutes later he was standing 50 feet from the house saying your septic is right here and three feet down. Simple. Can't find one contractor in Southern California who uses this device. Help.

I actually use a flushable transmitter now myself but didn’t have it when I made the video. MUCH easier!
