🇯🇵 Loanwords in Japanese that didn't come from English

Foreign words that have found a new home in Japanese vocabulary, adapting to suit linguistic nuances. These are called Gairaigo, or loanwords.
Absolutely, the influx of loanwords extends beyond English to include Portuguese, French, Dutch, German, and more.

There are also a number of calques that were based on Dutch words. E.g. zwaartekracht (heaviness + power) was translated into Japanese as 重力 and zuurstof (sour+ stuff/material) became 酸素.

The annoying "né" they use at the end of almost every phrase to confirm or ask for confirmation also came from prtuguese.
Né = contraction of "não é" (isn't it?)

Is that confirmed? A lot of languages have such constructions.
