Well presented review. Quick question: Is this scanner USB 1.1 or USB 2.0? Some websites say the former, whilst others the latter. My trusty LIDE 20 has just packed up, so perfect timing. Thanks. Yep, this is really confusing me. A LIDE 400 from Argos in the UK states USB 1.1, While some LIDE 400's on eBay (UK) state USB 2.0.
A demo on how to use or can it scan 6 or 8 photos at a time then software separate them. The scan of family you showed was very impressive. I have used other scanners they have a poor result compared to your photo
Does this scanner also scan old negative films? I'm also embarking the same journey where I got my hands on old family photos. I'm a bit confused as to which scanner to buy.
Not tried Polaroids. I did try to digitize some really old photographs which appeared to have a metallic-like sheen - something that was very challenging to image with my camera (owing to the relfective surface). The scanner managed to get me a clear image with no reflections. Jusy make sure the lid is closed to keep the photograph pressed flat against the scanner.
Thank you! Question, where exactly do you place the photos? I tried one, and it was upside down and cut off.

Thanks Harry. It's a USB 2.0
The provided cable is a Type A (which connects to your computer) and a Type C which connects to the scanner.
@@procongrey8833 Thanks again ProCon Grey.
Do the lide300 (almost) the same job?

Beautiful voice my brother
dude, is it compatible with windows 11?
Yup, works on my windows 11 laptop.
Its dose not do 4800 dpi as stared on the box, check your photos you have scanned you will find it 300 0r 600 dpi not 4800 as advertised

I've not tried scanning film negatives but I believe the scanner software should have a mode for it. Will have a check and get back.
You need a backlight for scanning negatives. There are rigs you can put but I'd look it up. "how to scan film negatives with canoscan lide 400 slim"
How well does it scan Polaroids? Do you get rings?
