Turanga Leela is a fictional character from the animated television series Futurama. Leela is spaceship captain, pilot, and head of all aviation services on board the Planet Express Ship. Throughout the series, she has an on-again, off-again relationship with Philip J. Fry, the central character in the series.
I'm so pleased to see you in my local museum. Some of the displays have been there since I was a child (I'm 65) and I love how they're mixed with the new items. It's always fun to just walk around and look - you always seem to find something you haven't noticed before. Thank you so much for sharing all of your adventures with us!!
I feel your pain. I had recorded a video for my UA-cam channel that was going to be a really good hit. I accidentally deleted it and tried to restore using those programs. Got so desperate I even paid for the programs, ended up maybe getting one 30 second clip that was choppy. I was so upset for days to come so I feel your pain!
My mum told me a story when she was a little girl see would often go to the New Walk Museum in Leicester. Her favourite display was the Dodo and back in the 50s it was not even in a case and all the kids would touch and cuddle it...This Dodo turned out to be one of two in the world that has real Dodo parts to its makeup. And is now in the Natural history Museum in London.. And it is now safely behind glass..
As someone who is in the army and constantly away from home, it's nice to see someone like your self explore things I rarely have time for, been watching your videos now for a few years, enjoying the new content
I know of a museum you should visit: The Musical Instrument Museum in Paradise Valley Arizona. It’s really awesome. And as a side note, if you do decide to come out to this museum my wife and I would LOVE to have you to our home for dinner!😎👍🏻
Syracuse has an Erie Canal Museum, the International Mask and Puppet Museum, and the MOST (the Museum of Science and Technology). Leela is from Futurama.
My favourite museum diorama is probably either the opening display in the Manitoba Museum (a few huge bison being chased by men on horseback) or the arctic cave display, (it has a polar bear eating a seal, and it flows through all times of day. its built into a snoe cave you walk through) both have gorgeous backgrounds and floors
The Manitoba Museum in Winnipeg is pretty awesome! In addition to the areas you mentioned, there is the Nonsuch gallery - a real sailing ship enclosed in a 18th (??) century dockside town. Very impressive!!
The Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum is in Auburn, IN. It's been marked as a National Landmark. The Museum is located inside of the original Auburn Automotive Company Building. The 2nd floor is a small automotive gallery. There's also different interactive kiosks at different cars. There's also statues outside of the museum. Plus behind that museum is the National Auto and Truck Museum. That museum houses post WW2 vehicles, a Futureliner, and other neat vehicles. I'd love if you went to them sometime!
If your HR were as high as the readout, then you would probably feel heart palpitations. Normal resting HR is 60-100. I’ve been dealing with heart palpitations for a while, due to Graves’ disease.
Artificial Changling sounds like a type of DND character that is not a changling but somehow gains the ability by technological means. I had a classmate in one of my final writing classes who wrote about her main character that sets up where they were before the events of the campaign (but they has a session where the timeline was changed so her character was always on the team instead of showing up trying to kill a prince)
Please come to Southeast Texas, more specifically Port Arthur Texas to see the museum of the Gulf Coast where they feature a lot of memorabilia regarding Janis Joplin, etcetera! It's a national landmark and she is from Port Arthur Texas if you are I happen to be a fan of Janis Joplin, my guy! Thank you for entertaining my husband and I for over three years now! Xx Steven and Joe ❤
The Tulsa Zoo has a carrier pigeon taxidermy and it has been there my whole life. Every time I see if it reminds me of being a child and thinking pigeons used to deliver all the mail.😂
At a government building in my hometown there was a diorama of a family of lions for some reason. I remember seeing it at a child and being completely fascinated by it, but it disappeared and I've never been able to find any more info about what happened to it!
Jacob, when you come back down South, hit up the South Carolina State Museum in Columbia, in the same building is the Confederate Relic Room and right next door is EdVenture, one of the best children's museums in the U.S.
My most memorable diorama was a Florida Everglades scene at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. It depicted an American alligator or Crocodile fighting a rattlesnake.
I live in Wilmington, NC! I know you've been here before, but if you choose to come back, the Cape Fear Museum of History and Science, the Wilmington Railroad Museum, and the Cameron Art Museum are always good!
The Petroleum Museum in Midland, TX is surprisingly cool. The Music Museum in Scottsdale, AZ is huge and a LOT of fun. Also: Thanks for the info about the taxidermy animals being zoo creatures. Makes me feel better knowing they weren't killed just for a display.
I said this once before, as it goes with content and real interest, you are #1. Others are good but they do the same thing over and over like Disney and it gets old.
Ooo! Sooo, you should come visit Myrtle Beach! I work at the Hollywood wax museum and we’ve gotten lots of new figures!! Don’t forget the Outbreak and Hannah’s mirror maze too!! Ripley’s has also been through a lot of changes as well! The moving theater and part of the haunted house was replaced by a crazy putt-putt and an illusions world. The aquarium has had lots of changes too, including sloths 🥺🥺
At the NYS museum in Albany there’s a wooly mammoth diorama that’s always been my favorite. I used to go there with my mom every month and was just amazed by it. I went back recently and it still evokes the same feelings for me. Forever my favorite!
My special museum piece is the Water Clock at the Indianapolis Children's Museum. Virtually the entire museum has changed over the years, but the Water Clock has maintained its spot. 🥰
Depending on where you'll be in Florida (I'm on the east coast), we have the Brevard Museum of History & Natural Science, Mel Fisher's Maritime Museum, the Wizard of Oz museum, a dinosaur shop and quite a few more things to check out🙂
A small museum in Northern NJ The Morris Museum, which now houses a huge collection of vintage automatons, it was very different growing up, but I was blown away by the collection they have now.. here in PGH the Heinz History center, and the Byerhoff Musuem.
last year I studied abroad in Spain and made two trips to Parque Warner. My opening weekend vlog originally went up without audio and I fixed it and slightly condensed it for the fall, but I deleted the files for the second visit before I could put it on the timeline-but hey I still made 50 videos (more if I count the copyright-free footage videos I put on a second channel)
I'm in Bradford,PA and our local museum is the Zippo lighter museum. You should definitely check it out. Very historical, the company has been around since 1932
I suggest going to the Cincinnati Museum Center at the Cincinnati Union Terminal, my hometown museum, (3 museums in one building) and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science my personal favorite natural history museum.
Oh yeah Jacob, like you, The Milwaukee Public Museum was my museum. Always took comfort in seeing the dinosaurs in the same spot as well as the Streets of Old Milwaukee. It'll be sad to see it go but I'm looking forward to the new museum in a few years.
Hey Jacob, I've got a few museums for you to check out at some point in your travels..... (All in my home state of Ohio) 1) Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library and Museums (Fremont: where among other artifacts you can sit behind a replica of the Resolute Desk, a very cool Doll House, a room full of weapons collected by Hayes' Son Webb during his time in the military, plus the gravesite of Rutherford, his Wife, Webb and his Wife, plus the family house which is open to the public for tours) 2) Wood County Historical Museum (Bowling Green: Years ago the building served as a home for the poor and infirmed residents of the area, so there are stories of the place being haunted. Also probably the most famous exhibit there details the Story of Carl and Mary Bach (where the wife was killed by her husband with a corn knife and he eventually was hung for the deed, the last public hanging in the county. As part of the display you can see the knife, the very noose, and a jar with 3 of Mary's fingers preserved in Formaldehyde) 3) Allen County Museum (Lima: There's a exhibit on the time famous gangster John Dillinger was locked up in the local jail and he broke out with help from 3 of his cronies, and the Sheriff Jess Sarber was killed. Also there's a very cool Mechanical Diorama where small stuffed animals inhabit a case that tells the story of Noah's Ark that used to be coin operated, as well as a room sized model of Mt. Vernon) 4) Neil Armstrong Air and Space Museum (Wapakoneta: Dedicated to one of the members of the Apollo 11 Mission to the Moon, this fantastic place includes such finds as a moon rock, simulators where you can try your hand at landing a lunar module or bringing a rocket back to earth, plus a hallway known as "the infinity tunnel")
Great video! My favorite part was the Fiji Mermaid (for obvious reasons). Please film more videos where you are able to see more Fiji Mermaids. Thank you.
in my case ofcourse we have the museum of natural history & science museum but my favorite is the big humpback whale in the middle of the room . you get to really see how it feels to be under a life size creature
As a wee lad, my friends and I stumbled across a stone driveway that had little purple rocks with little holes in them. We thought we discovered gold and were very excited to find out just how rich we were going to be from finding them. I convinced my dad to take us to the Buffalo Museum of Science to see if we could speak to a geologist there about them. One was kind enough to look at the rock and tell us it is just some byproduct of industry. While heartbroken, I am glad they took the time to humor some little kid.
I’m a native Buffalonian who’s movie back soon. Love the Science Museum. I saw Body Works there, and watched the Transit of Venus. I’m told Strong Museum of play in Rochester NY is really good. From the pictures I can believe it!
My local museum destroyed all of the beautiful taxidermy exhibits from my childhood that gave me peace, joy, and a life-long love of biology. They replaced them with loud, flashy things that children could poke and prod, a giant video theater, and a live penguin exhibit. This "modernization" is destroying museums all over the country.
I’m a taxidermy conservator and I’m sad to say that this is something that often happens because of ignorance on the museums part when it comes to the safety and importance of such specimens. Fortunately a lot of museums near me are pulling away from the screens and videos and focusing again on the stewardship of their physical specimens.
I have been to the Grand Rapids public museum in Grand Rapids mi many times. I love it. It’s huge. 2 whole floors of exhibits. Some come and go but many are permanent and are always there. I think you would really enjoy it Jacob!
That is a cool museum. You need to check out The Pennsylvania State Museum - have you’ve been there? Maybe when you get your car back. It is in Harrisburg, PA.
I went to the San Diego Natural History Museum awhile back and they had a display of live spiders in their natural habitat. You could walk through and see them. They had to check you when you left to make sure you did not have any hitchhikers on you.
If that held true, Winnie the Pooh would be from the Amazon and not the Hundred Acre Wood (which actually isn't that much considering that's about the size of Disneyland in California-although I think DCA is about 10-15 acres smaller)
Such a cool Museum ! Oh a real full size whale skeleton are at the Natural History Museum in London, UK. It's greetings you at the main hall ^^ always fascinating to see this size.

It’s a real yucky feeling
My mum told me a story when she was a little girl see would often go to the New Walk Museum in Leicester. Bison, not Buffalo.
Another fun nerd fact. Stuffy is a bison (aka tatanka) not a buffalo.
So there are still no buffaloes in Buffalo.
