  • In this video I perform a valve adjustment, install the timing covers, valve covers, and oil filter. I also test fit the freshly painted radiator assembly and show off some of the new parts I've gathered over the past month.

    Just finished my top end and was useing your video for reference. Consulted Clymer manual to realize 4 of the valves get adjusted with cylinder 1 at TDC combustion stroke, then the other 4 with cyl 1 at TDC on exhaust stroke. I was scratching my head for a while had to step away for a bit, then figured it out. Thank you for the vids! Love these old bikes.

    The work and money spent by Honda to make these bikes in the USA, Made to last forever with very little work, Great choice you made to fix this ride. Nice work

      I don't think I'm going to get to body paint before this riding season, goal was to have it on the road for summer 2021!

    Really you should be using a .004, .005, and a .006 gauge. When doing the intake set it to .004 and make sure a .005 gauge dosnt fit. Do the same with the with the .005 and .006

    i have never seen a ratchet like that before. looks like a time saver. where to buy ?

    • @DustyDingus
      @DustyDingus  3 роки тому

      I like this ratchet, only downfall is because of the swivel feature the head is rather large and has hindered my reach into tight areas a time or two.
      The good news is it was reasonably cheap, its a Pittsburgh so it can be found at Harbor Freight.
      Cheers!

    Hello! In this video you state that you can get the top-side rubbers for the headlight ears. Would you let me know where you found them? I am in the process of refurbishing an '80 GL also. Your videos are very helpful.

      Thanks for watching! I'm glad to help! I got the one I was missing from CMSNL.com but unfortunately I just checked and they're not currently available anymore. eBay might be your best bet, Honda part number is 51601-463-000

      I bought a complete Vesrah kit from eBay. Just make sure it's legitimately the good brand you're after. I heard good things about Vesrah

    Is that a new cover or how did you get it that shiny?

    • @DustyDingus
      @DustyDingus  3 роки тому

      That is the same set of covers that came with the bike actually. I just polished them, I have a video covering my aluminum polishing process here: ua-cam.com/video/NOUWhH7vS54/v-deo.html
