Excellent mentioning how coldness can contract the o-rings! My 2001 Honda Accord, I have replaced by myself the power steering pump (made in China one, as the OEM one is ridiculous expensive). Regardless, the aftermarket part seems fine. But I do get a tiny whining noise EVERY cold morning briefly. When the car is warm up, no more noise. The o-rings I got are OEM but the pump itself is not. So the fit is not exactly 100%. I still have original OEM pump, and I am going to rebuild it. Until then, I change the o-ring(s) once a year to stop the whining noise in cold mornings. *REMEMBER*: The BLACK o-ring goes with pressure line, where the two 10mm nuts are. The *ORANGE* o-ring goes to the other hose. The orange one is only used for V6 engines. If you have a 4-cylinder Honda Accord, it's not used.

Nothing is better than stock carbs, thats why the bike was built with them

    • @DustyDingus

That's your opinion and you're welcome to it 😊 over-engineered is a well known concept. If VW can run 1 carb on a 4-cylinder boxer engine then so can I. Over 8k trouble free miles on this, there's zero justification to switch to 4 CV carbs. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Love this bike. I’ve got the 81 gs450l. It’s my first bike and I can’t get enough! it can actually rip being a six speed “racer” stock from the factory. Corners like a dream because of how high the frame is suspended. Also so lucky you got the manual with it!

    • @DustyDingus

Connection is incredibly simple. Both spade connectors from carburetor (choke and shut-off solenoid) get connected to positive accessory terminal at the fuse box. I connected ground (negative) with an additional wire that ends in a terminal ring that fits over the carburetor mounting stud. Hope this helps

Instead if continual cranking, why NOT STOP ?!! And look for the problem ? There most certainly IS ONE, when you crank, & crank, & crank, & it doesn't start ! Drive me nuts ! Go over stuff, will you ? Find the problem, & correct it, so the damn thing will start reasonably ! Thank you !
