I keep seeing people ask this question 🫠

- Just wanted to jump on and address the most frequently asked question I see on the @BadChad channel asking why we're cutting out so much of the firewall, cowl, frame, and floor to mount the big block Ford engine.
#badchad #bigblockford #engine #blowermotor #ford #firewall
I don’t understand why viewers can’t hear what Chad says, he has said several times he wants to duplicate the “Hot Wheels” car. People just sit back and enjoy watching Chad use his brain to build his cars the way he wants if it doesn’t work he will do it over.
Dead right ,,,how many times has he showed the toy car and says he wants it that way ? I honestly think people if they are real and not fake accounts just love to complain
💥 BADA BING BADA BOOM 💥

Go Chad go. This is your best build by far. What a relatable project, everybody had that toy as a kid. It is your dream an ours too. It's cool that you can actually bring it to reality. Pay no mind to the commenters who don't have your vision. You have some great help and together can do this for all of us. Bring the toy to life!!!!!
@@TheodoreCross-d7b Bingo. Apparently there's a lot of dumbasses in Nova Scotia Canada.
GO Hiltz team. Build your dream car
The Hot Wheels car is a drag racing "gasser". Drag racing cars are built with the engine set farther back in order to increase the weight over the rear wheels to improve traction. Chad & the guys are doing exactly what needs to be done to accomplish that in this build. Go team Hiltz!
Gassers also have to have a straight axle with king pins. Whos to say that model doesn’t have the motor forward and the air cleaner back. A straight axle, like the model would of made the motor easier to fit. Chad is using the location of the air cleaner to explain the need for such hard work and fear enough. It’s a hard call to cut the front suspension
What I came to say.....
@@brett7989 Yep, and the Air cleaner scoop could be modified to make it sit back further.
No need to explain, just keep doing what you guys do! Awesome work from Chad's mind.
I’m with you Jolene and Chad. Build your own dream the way you want. The whiners are going to whine no matter what you say. Good content always God Bless
It is a whole lot of work. Yet it is worth it for Chad's vision of the car.
Still waiting for that million dollar car Chad. You shot your mouth off, trying to compare your coat hanger, cardboard, hickey tape, builds to REALtop professional builders.
That comment is what killed it for me. Nate and Doug are better builders.
It is a whole lot of work, but look what he does live in 1 hour per episode! I never miss an episode, makes a month go by so fast one hour at a time!!
It’s a bad ass project I love it
Jolene, you gave a very good explanation
It’s all called customizing nice job Chad and crew. ROLL ON!!!!! “ Sweet ride”
You should question Chad on everything he does because he has no true idea of his grade school level customizing ideas.
It'll cost you millions in the end. He is really wasting your time. Jolene you've hitched you wagon to a horse with No or little direction and the cliff is approaching fast.
Chad doing exactly what he i vision nobody ask why picszo paint that way an artist as it all in his mind I
Keep up the good work
Why did the work on the Bugatti hauler and the toy Bugatti stop.
A ton of work, but if anyone can do it, it's Chad, Nathan and Doug, along with your encouragement!, it's going to be AWESOME!
All he had to do was move the scoop. Doh.
@@douglascaskey7302 wow do you enjoy showing how ignorant you are or are you just clowning around? 🤡🤡🤡🤡
@douglascaskey7302 that's not what he wanted to do. DUH.
Some people have there mouths going 90 miles per hour before their brain is even in gear
YOU ROCK KEEP GOING AND DONT STOP THATS Y HE IS BAD CHAD YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!PS REAL MEN CUT SHIT UP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He knows what he wants to do & he's going to do his way with the help of Doug & Nigel. His dream car will come to life.👍👍👍👍👍👍😊😊
You meant to say "Nate", not "Nigel".
Nicely put Jolene!
HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A BLOWER EXPLODE? Why would you put it in the cab??????Danger !!!!
Most of you peple are not car people and dont know what the hell ur looking at
wow , how to get more views , who's next fina , nate or doug.
He's complicating it cuz he's clueless if it wasn't for Jolene he would be homeless
Yeah I have given up on the drama about 6 months ago. Well Jolene you will work it out. Many folks claim that you are rich. And I know You two are frugal. Chad is kinda like me if it's hard well then do it. If it's easy why bother.
I dont understand some of these people.,
you would think they are paying what ever bills it cost.???
Wow I can't believe that you would make that many excuses to put a motor in a car sometime you need sacrifice something you have already done a floor is one thing you have to change I don't care how many excuses you cry about I have done this to a 36 Ford coupe and the part you are fighting is where the frame comes in on both sides is your problem wake up both of you how do you really know that the motor is set back that far maybe it's just the hood scoop that back that far
He just does stuff backwards. It’s strange with the amount of knowledge he has….
I’m glad you did this video, I think most people don’t realize that Chad is making a hot wheels look alike and that all the work you are doing is necessary to achieve that goal as I’m sure you will 😁🎩
Amazing job Jolene
500 horse power engine pushing an automatic transmission is not going to suffer from exploding u- joints, or twist a drive shaft.
Keep on keeping on will be Great 👍
Seriously you don’t need the engine to sit that far back, it’s only the bug catcher that needs to go back that far. It would not be that hard to offset the bug catcher, I am a mechanic by trade shaking my head.
Jolene, A question to ask Chad ''With most all that x frame cut out to almost nothing there how is that 600lb engine not going to not fold the car in half. there is no strength left into the remaining frame, to not only support the dead weight but also the twist, as this will only be a toy as far as I can see the x frame is for structural and strength and that was for an original engine half the weight, has Chad thought about Moly tube used in Strint and Formula car racing, but this involves tig welding, not mig, Nate will know what I'm talking about, With all due respect this is a engineering build not really an excellent fabricator as Chad is,
It's Chad's dream car let him build the way he wants it I've never seen one of his projects fail yet he's a visionary a sculpture an artist let the man have his dream if you don't like it don't watch its his world guit hating as Chad always says take what you want and leave the rest rant over
We get it Jolene. Another one off nondriver for the back building🙄
Eveything looks good to me so far, My only hope is that the frame gets beefef up to handle the torque. Keep those exellent videos coming. Love what you're doing everyday!!!!
The air cleaner slides back and forward. The motor could of gone forward with the air cleaner back like the hot wheels model
We all get why Chads doing it, but just because some toy designer put the top of the blower that far back on the hood doesn’t mean it’s a good idea to do it in real life.
Thank you Jolene. Peace.
Jolene y'all are doing a great job keep doing what y'all love doing. 👍👍👍👍
People at home criticizing it’s exactly that they’re sitting at home criticizing
Don’t let it get y’all down. You’re doing a great job.
And Jolene I’ve been watching a lot of UA-cam videos my hats off to him. You are a phenomenal camera person. Keep up the good work.
Putting the floor in first was wrong now like if it doesn't fit what you have to do cut the floor out and a toy doesn't show yo I where the motor is come on you mess up period
Its gonna be badass 😎...ever forward
But, made in China from a 2 year old, doesn't mean he/she is right. Balanced or poping wheelies, or oil pan in wrong direction. I just plain think it's to much, even tho some one can do it, probably would have Been better just moving the air funnel back instead, unless it's a combo coffee grinder attachment thing being hooked up, plus, it's safer to not being next to the engine, incase it blows up. So it might hirt someone's feeling, is better than having body parts removed. In addition, this vehicle is a very large and powerful vehicle, which needs more extra of everything including safety. So even if it's was just fir show, it doesn't mean someone else could have problems unknownly.
Just my Thoughts It is your car and you have a Cutting torch and a welder you can do any thing you like if you like it DO IT! you can not please the internet Please yourselves and be happy.
Could put engine in correct position and put intake mounted back on a manufactured mount
You look great Jolene 👍
All comments are good for the business..😊
If you're willing to put in the work to make it happen. Roll up the sleeves.
If people are still asking that question, you have to wonder if they've really been paying attention to the multiple videos that talk about it being made to match the Hotwheels car.
Its your car, not the trollz..
✌️❤️😁
Weight transfer is why you move the engine back, great job so far on the hot wheels car
Jolene, I’ve been watching you and Chad religiously for a few years now. My wife even watches with me and enjoys the show. When it’s less than an hour show we are both like “Damn, that’s it today.” If people don’t like what you’re doing they can watch another channel. Those loyal to you will appreciate you allowing us into your lives. Chad and you have given me the courage to tackle my own projects. You guys break it down to simple terms for us not so talented to enjoy. Remember, if people are saying negative things they’re only miserable in their own lives and want to critique and criticize others. Just because other might so it differently doesn’t mean your ways are wrong. Chad always says, “use what you like and throw out what you don’t.” Couldn’t be more simple than that. I can’t wait to see the Hot Wheels done. Like Chad, it was my favorite Hot Wheel growing up. Sorry for rambling and God knows I could say so much more. You guys keep doing what you do and know you’re appreciated by your true loyal fans and friends. Can’t wait to meet you both someday.
Chad's idea and vision coming to fruition . Keep it up. It will be great when done.
Jolene, chads Queen.what a couple.Looking forward to hearing that Mega Motor fire up.
you guys do what you want to do no need to explain
You tell them girl it's what chad wants love the show
X frame cars are a bit much to chop on. you guys may need to fashion something like a sub frame, or what ever.
Some people don't pay much attention, at least when Jolene says it they MIGHT hear it, lol.
Have to move the engine back to get behind the front axle. Too far forward and would not have any traction at the back tires, be hard to steer . Chad's got it 100%
Traction for what? You actually think this POS is going to drive? LOL
There is NO NEED to explain. Tell them to build thier own !!!
There’s other shows that do that kind of thing but the’re high end shops with all kinds of net works and fancy tools and such .
That said , Chad and crew are trying to show us low budget guys that if you have a dream with little money and basic tools that these sort of things can be achieved .
There’s a lot of trial and error but you guys show it all , even the mistakes . Keep on Keepin on !!!
That’s what makes me come back , can’t wait to see what you guys come up with next . 👏👏
There is a 10 % off set to the rear that is a rule in NHRA. I think your still in that 10%. But there is a need to keep your carbs level so that they will work properly. I think it's very cool and I think Chad is doing great ! I use 2 flat plates of steel with supports to mount my motors and I put truck mud flaps that i got from Princes Auto. I just cut them to fit in between the plates and I drill holes for bolts to mount them. Looking good thumps up.
Sick of seeing all the hate Chad gets. Bunch of haters only wishing they had half the talent he does. Keyboard warriors will always lose, remember that. Keep on doing what you do Chad and Jolene. 🤙🏼
I understand the concept and his dream, so DON"T race it just drive and cruise it. Thye said we couldnt put a blown chevy in a 32 Ford BUT WE DID and with great sucess so carry on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please don’t be so concerned about silly questions. You all are total winners, we love all your projects, ALL!!!! Only thing I worry about is will I be alive to see your Bugatti finished ??🥰🥰🙏👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️😎
Chad wants the engine so far back , so he doesn't need to install a heater for the winter LOL.
Poor planning folks have the plan in place before you work all those hours for nothing and I’m glad that you are the brains of the team for asking him if it’s worth it
It's looking good and it's Chad car so take his time and do it his way
This hotwheels car is representing a rag racing Gasser thing from 1950s-60s. Tyre technology back then was bad that even widest racing slicks had quite poor traction. Nowhere near to what dragsters have today. So they jacked up the suspensions and moved engines to more the center of the car- to help to get all the car's weight transferred to the rear wheels when launching. Also steel front ends were replaced with fiberglass to further change the weight distribution (you can even find photos on google where driver was sitting where backseat used to be). Cars back then didnt have much power, somewhere around 400-500hp, Gassers ran about 11-12sec on quarter mile but thanks to weight distribution changes these were popping wheelies like motorbikes.
Theirs a cheats way of doing this and only you would know
....lot less heartache and fabrication .... Just extend the blower hat backwards ....
Apart from that ....your team doing a amazing job and taking modifying cars to the next level.....
People have to realize, with a bigger engine, you need to have enough room in front for a radiator which means the engine has to sit back farther. Also, if you had the smaller 351 M and 400 M Ford Transmission from a mid 70's Cougar, Torino, Elite and Montego engine which bolts to the 429-460 engine. Since Nate is a Ford guy, he might know this. The trucks and full size Ford's and Mercury's use a longer transmission which looks like you have there.
Good to see you take the time to explain what’s going BUT if Chad is being so Nick-Picky About getting everything just perfect as the Hot Wheel car he’s coping. Why didn’t he start with the correct year? The Hot Wheels car is a ‘36 Ford not a ‘40. So being as picky as he’s being it’ll never be an exact copy. Anyway glad your the one with the common sense it’s seems you know more how to build things correctly then your other half. Stay you 🤙
Y’all are doing a great job 👏
things take time to get it the way you want....so many know it alls.....keep calm and carry on!
You are sooooooooooo beautyfull girl omg! ! ! !.....And so gentle and have a soothing voice!!!.....your combination of qualities is quite remarquable!!!
Good job explaining things that you two want to accomplish. Yes a lot of people don't understand the concept of what it takes to do something. As a trades person the job may take two minutes but it took an hour to set up, people just think things happen.
And your doing a great job working as hard as you do as well as how hard Chad works.
And will never be finished
Been reading comments saying all Chad really has to do is put the engine forward where it fits and simply mount "fake" breather to replicate the model. Made me think about the hood scoops that started appearing on cars in the yearly 1950's. Automobile manufacturers adapted the trend to their production cars as well as adding other slick features like hood louvers, vents and intakes all to make their production "appear" more powerful if only for show! They looked cool but performed no real function. Hence the term; i.e., form over function. In Chads defense... he wants the powerful styling the form it implies "with" all the function it suggests. NET: He wants form "and" function.
Jolene your the Best just like BAD CHAD. WINDSOR ONTARIO CANADA 🇨🇦 ♥️ WATCHING
I would have done things different and with that being said. This is Chads build.( dream car) so why is everybody well not everybody getting so annoyed. We all know damn well whwn its done its gonna be BAD CHAD ASS. Just likw all his other builds. He is a hell of a car builder. And yoy jolene are a hell of a car builder and video maker. So rock on .
I speak for myself.
I watch to learn.
You and Chad don't have to explain anything you do to me, I'm delighted to just get the free education, any explanations given is a bonus in my mind.
Just my opinion for what it's worth.
A custom is a custom, unique to the designer.I've caught verbal harassment for some of the modifications made on a few vehicles. If I want to strip one down for racing, that's my business, you know.
How Many Chevy Motors do u Need ? I can make u a Deal on 4 Chevy SBC MOTOS
LET ME KNOW JO
✌🏼
As always great video great content SWEET JOLENE keep em coming
The “people” asking why are straight clowning and don’t know nothing about 60s gasser culture. They need to sit down and read a thing or two 💀👊🏾
Jolene , some people don’t understand custom car design and the time and cost to make it right , I think Chad Needs to tell the design on video so people understand the build ! Also once you guys start a project that is very custom Please stop complaining about the time and money to everyone! If you can’t play with the big boys get out of the sand box ! P.S. Chad does a good job for what he uses and how he does it , you want to save money on a build ? Put better equipment in your shop , the outside lift is a joke and safety hazard! Working on the floor like cave men is ridiculous , breakers popping, No ventilation, No hardware in stock, yes he builds with very little products , but you get what you put into it ??
I think Chad's doing a great job. Everybody is. Thanks for sharing Jolene 👍
If Chad wants, he can put the engine on the roof! His car, his choice!! Look at all the mid engine funny cars and dragsters! Why put the Volkswagen engine in the trunk? LOL
You are not aloud to put the engine back that far. lol. What a joke. It’s a custom.the rules are gone. Happy customizing. Good job.
I think replicating a Lot wheels car is incredible. These cars were not normal cars and were 3:42 so popular because they were so different. Hats off to you for sticking to the design exactly. Love it all Jo, including all of the headscratching to get there. JOE
Let the painter paint
Sound like bs
The basic challenge is for Chad to show exactly where on the hot wheels car the engine is mounted? I can see the little plastic scoop on the model, but that doesn't show where the engine sits! Maybe the little plastic Auto Assembly Plant actually mounted the engine farther forward of where the scoop is sitting! This is such a controversy that maybe I will organize a Strike amongst the little plastic workers at the Hot Wheels plant!
First of all its a hot wheel he's trying to build. Chad has a bad ideal setting the engine back so far. Jolene says this is a business it's a UA-cam business and I don't see how people can make so much damn money doing a video all the time building big shops and having dozens of cars I guess you don't pay taxes on what you have
The farther back the engine is placed the more wight is distributed towards the rear wheels. This increases traction. By the way....Are you going to fix the on air light?
I wish people would just let Chad do Chad.. if his dream is to make it a mid engine car it’s his thing.. you do it your way and let others including Chad build their build as they want their build.. if your so determined to do it different they film it and even say had Chad look…cause I believe Chad would in fact look…can you do the same.. just my thought on it.. thanks for the great content…
Most people are clueless to what is involved in doing things like Chad is doing.
People see what is done and it looks simple when finished but it is getting it there.
I have a friend who brings me work and he likes to tell me "allyagada do is" I tell him, well if that's all you have to do why don't YOU do it?
Chad is building it exactly as it should be to be an authentic gasser and to replicate the Hot Wheels version. He's an artistic genius. Always enjoy your vids!
Exactly!
He's chasing a dream and we all get to watch him fulfill it and he will. Thanks Chad and you as well Jolene!😊
