I am absolutely loving these Gamecube-era deconstructions! Thank you so much for doing them, I had no idea there were this many post-soundfont songs that could be deconstructed like this
Channel 1: Tambourine Channel 2: Bongos of some sort (not the Yoshi kind). There might be a better name for these. Channel 3: Piccolo (melody flair) Channel 4: English horn Channel 5: Clarinet melody Channel 6: Clarinet harmony Channel 7: Bassoon Channel 8: Pizzicato double bass (right channel only) Channel 9: Bowed cello or upright bass Channel 10: Harp Channel 11: Yoshi bongos.
I’m fascinated that, individually, these instruments sound straight out of the 90s, but when you put them together that all just melts away. Like when you bake a cake and all the ingredients stop being eggs, flour, sugar, and such and start being a cake.
Like Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine uses the hub world theme to make music for some areas. The Bianco Hills, Ricco Harbor, and Gelato Beach themes are all based on the Delfino Plaza theme. Except Super Mario 64's hub world theme is Peach's Castle Theme but who would wanna hear a bluegrass version of that?
Also Super Mario Sunshine uses the hub world theme in the credits as well! also it is shortly used in the beginning of Mario on Trial cutscene as well.
Thank you SO much for doing this track in particular! I've been looking for an isolated version of the instrument in channel 9 for a while now, it really helps Bianco Hills stand strongly as a track compared to other Sunshine tracks that use the Isle Delfino medley.
Thank you for uploading this. You always do an amazing job into deconstructing these tracks. I've always loved listening to Gamecube music back when I was younger. And since Super Mario Sunshine's my most favorite game, it has a really good soundtrack. I think we just need Gelato Beach or Pianta Village Day/Night to really fit the nostalgia.. ☺
I started checking your content recently, the deconstruct songs are so pleasant the listen! I wish you would deconstruct some Ace Attorney music tho, maybe Apolo Justice 😁

pretty sure all sms songs and most gamecube songs can be deconstructed lol
Channel 1: Tambourine
Channel 2: Bongos of some sort (not the Yoshi kind). There might be a better name for these.
Channel 3: Piccolo (melody flair)
Channel 4: English horn
Channel 5: Clarinet melody
Channel 6: Clarinet harmony
Channel 7: Bassoon
Channel 8: Pizzicato double bass (right channel only)
Channel 9: Bowed cello or upright bass
Channel 10: Harp
Channel 11: Yoshi bongos.
Channel 2 sounds like a djembe to me, but there's the more metallic sound, and I have no clue what that is.
I think Channel 2 might best be described as "pots and pans" by those unfamiliar with some instruments (me).
2:54 that's a jumpscare. i thought some phone or alarm was ringing at first

Thank you!! I hope you deconstruct the main theme of Paper Mario (N64) someday. 🎶
Always love the Yoshi at the end.

Instruments used in this Music:
Piccolo, Clarinet, Flute, Cello, Harp, Tambourine and Bongos.
You forgot about oboe and bassoon!
Oh, thanks.
Hey! This one is so cool! I love the piccolo doing octaves over the melody. Also, could you please do Volcano! Inferno! From mother 3?
Without 3, 4, and 11, it sounds like he lost his hat or fludd 😢
