Now this is one of my favorite compositions from Mr. Kondo! I love the way you showed how each instrument expresses its own tone. The Orch Hits feels like it demonstrates a “powerful” being is coming, invokes a similar feeling to the Metal Mario theme. The lead synths (or I call it the Space Voice) sound like a voice crying for help (like peach) The Brass Sections sounds like a penultimate theme to the final boss. The Violin (strings 1) sounds like it’s conflicting with the Brass section, but it sounds like it’s with the Synth, giving the feeling of tremor and doom mixed with hope. The Sitar is quite literally a sitar, it’s just there. The drums give the feeling of imminent danger approaching. Now, I’m gone.
Absolutely! Koopa's road and its variations will always be one of Koji Kondo's best pieces. If only we could deconstruct the Super Mario Galaxy version... I also love how you described each instrument and the role they play in making such a beautiful song!
I quite literally just stopped playing Super Mario 64. I was on the final Koopa Road stage (the one before the final boss) before I stopped playing, and here I am watching this osc. view on the song that was just playing in the game. What are the chances?
